  • All I did in this video are based on my own experience and some research added with a bit of my creativity :). I really hope that this video can give you some inspiration. Thanks for watching!
    The Scorpion that I house in this terrarium is an 8th instar female South African Fattail Scorpion (Parabuthus transvaalicus). A few days after I shot this video, I'll pair her with a 7th instar male. Stay tuned!

    I've always wanted to make a desert enclosure and the exotic pet shop I usually go to has just gotten some new Scorpions in so I think now may be my time. This looks lovely!!

    Thank you this helped a lot since i recently took the giant step after 8 years of experience to get into extremely venomous scorpions. I just purchased an A. Australis, A. Bicolor, A. liouvillei, and P. Transvaalicus

    Get a desert hairy scorpion because they look great and they have a weak Venom. The one he has looks like black fat tail, very strong venom.

    • @BrittanyOglesby23
      @BrittanyOglesby23 Před 2 lety

      Big claws and big tail means they are low venom. Thin little claws and big tail means their highly venomous and deadly. The scorpion he has is a bark scorpion which is the deadliest and venomous scorpion.

    • @ProgressiveDiscussions
      @ProgressiveDiscussions Před 2 lety

      @@BrittanyOglesby23 Arizona bark has strong venom. The worst scorpion in the world is the Indian red. Second-worst is the deathstalker.

    Can i use the clay to make potery?

    • @dnadesignn
      @dnadesignn  Před rokem

      Yesss, but it needs to be burned in a high temperature for some time. I tried with barbeque grill but the fire wasn't enough so when I put water in the clay bowl (I made a bowl), it absorbs the water because it's not dense enough.

    I was wondering you thought on keeping a lid on top of the tank for a desert hairy scorpion... would I need one or can I go lidless ? The tank is a 12x12x12 rimless tank

    • @dnadesignn
      @dnadesignn  Před 3 lety +1

      If you don't want to use a lid, just make sure that the distance between the highest part in the enclosure and the top of the tank is more than the length of your scorpion from tail to pedipalp. Because scorpions can surely stretch and use their tail to help them reach something high.

    • @dnadesignn
      @dnadesignn  Před 3 lety +3

      I did put on a lid for this one but I didn't include it in the video.

    • @dnadesignn
      @dnadesignn  Před 9 měsíci

      Nooo, they can get water from their prey and also you can spray water once a week to the enclosure wall and they can drink from it.
