The great ones are those who shift the combo parts around. Push someone into Immortal stun, then Discord; push someone into a group to line up bigger lightning; Counterstrike a Hook attempt. Knowing when to mix up push+discord makes for great plays.
man i was horrible for like the first two weeks playing him. i forced myself to play him over and over and over though. last game i had 28 kills with aa build lol
When I started playing Hots, I decided to onetrick Sgt. Hammer until I realised this is not LoL and you can't pick Hammer everytime so I started playing all of the characters to have more game knowledge and flexibility for drafts. But I can see there's a few god tier heroes that can be mastered so far that there's propably no need to switch that Alarak for anything else. Normally I am not impressed with game montages but this one is really really awesome. It's hard to learn the telekinesis physics combined with E shots and also do it with lvl 20 reset. Great video.
takes a lot of practice but i like heroes like this that are difficult to play but have a big payoff. zeratul is one of them. sylvanas, hanzo, maiev, greymane, genji. love having high damage and mobility, even if im vulnerable. oh ya also play a ton of ARAM. being forced to play and learn heroes im not familiar with and their talent choices pays off every time i face them in a game as well as if i want to play them.
Alarak is probably the closest to a LoL or DotA hard carry. Scaling with enemy deaths means worse enemies feed you; conversely, also has the highest death penalty. A selfish hero. Anytime he dies, it is entirely your fault; if you couldn’t take the fight, should’ve left your allies to die alone. Opposite of someone like Leoric who would happily die in a 1-for-1, but Alarak dying is never worth it, arguably not even to score 2 kills.
@@BlueShellshock I think closest to "LoL character" are Orphea and Qhira - they don't even fit the Hots roster and that does make sense because they are noname characters only created for Hots. I like them but I would rather see another character from Blizzard games. It would be so easy to make a Hots Reinhardt and it would be our LoL's Braum. The shield could absorb projectile skillshots and range auto attacks while not working vs melee auto attacks.
I saw your profile a few days ago, it was on 980, impressive that you got this so fast and btw for all other people here, he is master rank, so its not your typicall, "I am level 300 on hammer, I am good" quickmatch player, but I guess you also can tell that by watching the video Edit: I have to correct, its not master, he is gm#30 atm

The reaction time on the reset is amazing, usually I need like 2-3 seconds to use it. What's particularly impressive is the patience, fir example I'd have used the W right after the Chromie trap but no, he walked toward the freakin Chromie and used the W to dodge the LiMing orb (twice)

Usually after if I get over 150 my team wins the next teamfight and ends core, before I can achieve a high sadism. But I remember I had over 350 in a Quickmatch in Warhead Junktion, where I farmed from murky the enemy team abathur repaired buildings and we couldnt push. I think I even died to murkys octograb in that match and we lost. Very frustrating.

hi im wondering why some people consider e build to be a bad build right now. i got flamed a couple of games recently for using e build. i do prefer w build atm but if the comp allows it i like to go e build.
It's alright if the enemy team has counter-followups to your combo. For example: Blaze+Etc in the enemy team together. Try to combo 1 and the other stuns you instantly. Even if you have a successful combo it does not bring much value, because your team can not follow up to that. That's where E-Build comes handy. You poke from a safe distance, build up stacks, slow the enemies, interrupt objectives, heal your own poke, and so on. Don't pick E-Build against 4-5 assassins with small hitboxes.
@@Tacticus40k a counterpoint is that full q build lets you be the best duelist in the game. At 200 sadism, not super hard if you play safe, you hit three times a second for 900 and heal for half of that, so you're out healing the damage of 90% of the roster while also slapping them for 3k a second after hitting them with your q for, what, 1500? It doesn't work against ranged heavy teams, or teams with good disengage. But tank or melee heavy just cries, and there's nothing they can do to stop it save for running the fuck away (given that Q has a 9 second cooldown this isn't a sort of "run for 10s and then re engage cause he busted his ult") or chain CC, which is solveable with counterstriking at the right moment (counterstrike also doing ungodly amounts of damage) and with team support (like a medivh+brightwing, who can shield you and poly the burst damage of the enemy, or just get them off you with emerald wing altogether). Once that chain CC is gone, their options are to stay the fuck away from you or die.

i have seen silver players be that bad aswell trust me. I am silver myself and people being that bad is actually pretty common. Also he is playing against gms because he is playing ranked and he is gm.

I am 999 now and Master SL now. These videos are from Alarak level 820 to 980 Ranked + QM. The QM enemies are usually between gold and platinum. The SL enemies always just master + gm. At 2:04 I don't think they are Bronze. Bronze would usually die while trying hardcamp and embarrassing stuff like that. And Silver Enemies just stay still while attacking. These Enemies at least try to move around. A bit slow reaction but they try, so I'd say they are gold or plat or Dia. A Master and better probably would have dodged my second Q. But some other clips are indeed from master and above. I thought you would recognize some names (in EU Master Stormleague there are very few players). Now Grandmaster is a different topic. The skillgap betwee GM and Master is super high. Higher than between Gold and Master. (Going from Gold to Master is easy than going from Master to GM) While I DO have victories against and with GM too, the teamfights are different and it's just our teamwork of 5-people, instead just "me" doing my plays. It's unfit for a cool montage.

people who flame for e build are idiots, its the safest, least sadism reliant build to go and the slow on e at lvl 1 is really useful
