The only problem with initially diving into the water is the fact that there may be more river monsters in there

And the fact the MONSTER IS LITTERALLY EVOLVED TO BE IN WATER. Plus there's no way of knowing when it will go back to the water so best move was to find a different hiding spot AWAY from the water it just came from
It's called a sequel or seaquel lol.
An also Cus it literally was shown to be fast in water. If it gets in there’s a chance that it’ll reach you really fast and kill you. Also plus how none of them realised that it got out of the wate showing how good of a swimmer it is
When I first saw this film I thought it was going to be revealed that there was more than 1 creature.
Okay, giving an anonymous tip that the family is where the monster’s hideout is is a legitimate stroke of genius.

Yea, thats an old joke, where the dude in the prison writes a letter to his mother, that dont touch the garden, because he hid the money in there. The police the next day came and shoveled up everything, but found nothing. Then the kid wrote a follow up letter to his mom, that he is sorry for not being able to help her digging up the ground, but hope the policce did a good job instead of him.
Actually staying with a crowd is a good strategy, lots of animals like birds and rabbits do it too, it will actually reduce your chance of getting eaten because you are surrounded by other targets
Right? Sure you want them between you and the monster and you don't want to be part of a near crowd but really, find a couple larger people in a group and put them between you and the monster.
As the saying goes; you don't have to be the fastest swimmer, just faster than your diving buddy (my scuba instructor years ago)😂👍

I like the idea of fire being the end all for most monsters. It makes sense for them to be scared as they’ve never experienced fire. I just like that one of humanities first discoveries is also the one to kill the monsters

We know that light and fire has always protected us from the unknown. I don't see how that doesn't apply to monsters since for a while we thought bears were monsters.

Well, people think that they’d be the protagonist of the monster movie who bravely fights against the monster. In reality, most are more likely to fend for themselves at the expense of others (more likely to be that arsehole character who thinks for themselves that we would perceive as the selfish villain) or we’d be part of the crowd and adhere to a group mentality. Eg, if someone says that one person is infected, without even checking, you’re more likely to follow the crowd who will want that person to be kicked out of the place you’re in. Fear and the desire to survive would quickly overpower everything else, and you wouldn’t even be thinking logically for the most part.
Cinema Summary is just honest about it haha. People, even if they’re good people previously, never truly know what kind of person they’d be when things get desperate and your life is at risk.

Has no one noticed where the monster in the beginning would just go one direction and ignore some people? If I were them I would wait for a crowd to form and watch the monster chase them down while I go run the opposite way 💀

Breaking the tail wasn't a bad idea. The tail is a very important aspect for balance and could make it much harder to run and balance.

That girl is probably the bravest girl i've ever seen in a movie. Cant imagine what she's going through. Bravo for the actress.

As terrifying as the mutant is, it looks so cool to be honest, it also got me thinking of a Batman vs Killer Croc horror movie idea.

I’m actually really happy to see this movie getting some attention because I watched it years ago and absolutely loved it plus that actor is one of my absolute favorites of all time
Their last stand was badass, I mean I just can't imagine bravery like that.
That said, when you're determined on getting revenge; there's nothing you can think of but hate.

I have a simple 1 step plan to beat The Host.
Step 1: Don't live in Korea. If you don't live in the same country as the monster you are pretty safe from said monster.

2:30 this would cause a mistake since the monster is a swimming and partly land creature the best way to not fight it would be to get it into the more populated area while you on your own run away from the crowd and go in a area where the monster won't strike and call the cops on this because to defeat an abomination like this you would need actual weaponary but due to this being a devastating creature the Military Forces would have to most likely intervene and there ya go you don't need to worry about that abomination anymore
I think the clothes rope was the better idea. How would a girl and a little boy stack up 2m worth of heavy dead bodies? I know I, an adult, would most definitely not be able to lift up a dead body a few cm off the floor, let alone so high above my head. And how would they climb on all that without the bodies rolling all over the place? Even against the wall, it would be much less stable and safe than the rope made out of clothes. 😅

It’s fun that Song Kang-Ho went on to be in Parasite. I love that he was in a weird monster movie playing a very similar character.
I don’t think your advice to separate from the group at the start of the video is a good idea, predators often try to separate a individual from the group to more effectively hunt them down. Protection from predators is a big reason why many prey animals tend to move in herds.
This is why I love your channel. You cover movies that otherwise, I'd never see in my lifetime.
Always good to see how proud you are to do this research and give us tips to save humanity or ourselves at a bare minimum. I swear some survivalist will watch all of these videos as the creatures become reality and listen to Cinema Summary's voice as the wander through the wasteland with a machete in hand.
Can we take a moment to appreciate how badass the whole family was
Bearing in mind the gigantic concrete slab it’s an impressive enough achievement that he can swing that thing up and let it crash down at any part of the creature at all. To say that you would maneuver around its tail and swing that thing with enough precision to land the blow directly on top of this thing’s oddly shaped foot is laughable!
Yeah, I'd probably be able to drop it there if it were as still as it looked but swinging it overhead? Thay was immersion breaking.
