  • Tenor Horn solo performed by Nicky Abkiewicz and Central Coast Brass, 2016, as part of NSW Band Association's 120th anniversary.
From the score: "This delightful piece is sure to be a welcome addition to the tenor horn repertoire. Although not technically challenging, the piece requires a great deal of lyricism from the soloist and a lightness of touch from the band accompaniment.
Composer Paul-Lovatt-Cooper was born in Alderney in the Channel Islands and raised in the Salvation Army with his parents who were Officers. He started his musical career by playing the drums at school at the age of twelve.
Paul has enjoyed many composing successes. In 2006 he won the Brighouse and Rastrick Band's 125th Anniversary Composers Competition with his piece "West Rydings", beating off many other entries.
Paul has enjoyed performances of his works all over the world including premiers in the UK and even in countries such as Ireland, Holland and New Zealand. He is fast becoming a sought after composer gaining commissions for bands including the Black Dyke Band, Ratby Co-operative Band and the National Children's Brass Band of Great Britain.
Paul has recently been appointed the "Young Composer in Association"
