Going to be starting my film using a lot of what you are showing.. Your scratch-build videos were a god-sent, thank you

I'm finding this series you're working on to be fascinating, at least watching you making it is. Zenith Run itself has sort of this early 2000s SyFy channel film feel- considering you're making this for a LOT less than they probably paid to make it, that's amazing.

I just put out a similar video around my fan film experience and then just saw your new update. Great video and breakdown. We're on the same wavelength with all this for sure! Keep it up!

You're doing sort of what I used to want to do. I get nervous around people so I've never actually pursued like moviemaking and stuff.

Another great how-to. I say this with a lot of admiration for what you do... but I really do feel like you'd be doing yourself a favor by toning down the filters and the weathering of the props. You address this in the video, and I totally get why that stuff is there. I'm not saying to eliminate it. But sometimes you get so extreme with the weathering and filters that things can get kind of murky and hard to see. With the Zenith Run clips here, everything is so dark that I feel like I'm watching a dark print of a movie while I'm wearing dark sunglasses. I feel like you're trying too hard to cover up, like maybe you think that your stuff can't stand up to the light, but your stuff doesn't need to be hidden in the dark! As you do these tutorials you'll reach a point with filters or weathering that looks just right to me, but then you keep going until it gets really dark. If you did about 70 percent of the filters and weathering you do now, I think it'd look better. Anyway, I hope this advice will be useful to you and I'm very thankful for all the hard work you put into this stuff. Keep making things!

I have a recommendation in regards to the kitbashing ship shots, what if you moved the ship on a slider and kept the camera still because that's how they did it for Star Wars and Blade Runner and old school sci fi movies like that! Anyways as a fellow filmmaker I love this channel and can't wait for Zenith Run

Hmmmm... for my cast... it's only me. LOL.. and one of both of my daughters from time to time... I see that you have the chemistry of casting down to a science!! That's what's up!! I am sure it had to be a work in progress to get this down to where it works out as smoothly as possible!

To someone like me who knows next to nothing about film production, the words 'no budget' or 'low budget' might be a bit of a red herring. Your breakdown shattered my assumptions about how much work can go into this, and I'm genuinely flabbergasted, and I'm only 10 minutes in.

for me just writing out various elements of world building is fun and once it get started i tend to go very deep... sometimes a bit silly, other times very serious but never really overly dark. also love building things and have more ideas than budget which is very frustrating

Love the information you have in your videos. I’m just starting out and learning green screen effects. I think you really would love a 3D printer for your props it’s so perfect for making sci-fi guns and ships. If you get a sec look at my first try at green screening on my channel and let me know what you think. Keep up the good work.

This is excellent. I am a HS art teacher and you just helped me out big time. You are a good teacher, man. You say a lot more in those 30 minutes than most people do in a lifetime, so thank you for that. I am wondering, if you were starting a ‘let’s make a movie from scratch’ corner in your classroom, what would you have on your model making bench? I have green screen and a small budget, so I can spend a couple of hundred dollars. Can you point me in the right direction? Take care mate and keep doing this, it’s brilliant stuff
