  • Hi to all viewers as we all know that most motorcycle goes by cables either it's a 2 stroke or 4 stroke from the early years till the beginning of 2000 that motorcycle Tachometer or what we simply called it RPM meter using cables. As now most are electronic just like platinum to spark point going to carburettor and now fuel injection on motorcycle and in coming years all that will be gone as it will change to lithium battery just like a Tesla car. As you know that my bike Tachometer is not working from my earlier video and i can afford to get the whole new meter set but it needs lots of work to be done. To open up the upper cowler with lots of screw and then unplugged the wiring that seem will take the whole day if i do it by myself .Yamaha YBR 125 new meter set is not that expensive if i fix by myself by ordering from AliExpress that cost below S$50 but the hassle of unplugging and plugging it back that it takes lots of time and effort as i can imagine at the age of 50+ it must be tiring and if i'm short of tools that's it. As Yamaha YBR 125 is made in China the spare parts that i need is cheap for example i made a mistake of buying an AC CDI that cost S$45 at the motorcycle shop and i can't return it as the owner said bring it back at first if it not working for sure it will work but lastly he told me it might be something else that cause the problem not the CDI. I made a called to nearly all Yamaha dealer on buying the DC CDI only for a piece but they don't entertain me as the reason given is all the same it's out of stock. So the bike was dormant at the multi storey carpark for 4 months as my health is not in good condition as my left foot had warts that is start from bad to worst plus the injury of my broken ankle too on my left leg on my previous motorcycle accident 8 years back that i'm limping for months till now. So it's time for the yearly inspection and i had to get it done and it will be the last inspection as next year will be scrap in September if i don't buy the C.O.E ( certificate of entitlement) of vehicles that cost now nearly to S$10k for motorcycle to make use of my bike for another 10 years. And so my bike was being tow to my usual workshop that the problem was as i know is the DC CDI as i was 70% sure it's not the Magneto or the stator or my spark plug coil. That DC CDI cost me S$95. When i look on AliExpress it cost about S$6 plus shipping for a piece and the AC CDI cost S$4. From that onwards i might as well bought it directly from the source. Let say if i need to change the set of my bike meter it will be S$300+ to S$400+ for sure. And i need to pick it up the next day. So the moral of the story is Yamaha YBR 125 is popular in Britain, Pakistan, India and most of European countries too. Buy it on AliExpress as there's lots of YBR 125 parts or any other model that is made in China. But look at the company profile first before buying if there no reviews better not buy as it probably won't arrive at your door step. You can still get you money back but a dispute must be made as i ever encountered it before but they will refund in a few months time. So get a reputational company if you need to get anything beside motorcycle parts. Just and advice. So guys thanks for reading my long explanation as i like it to be clear on making a description. Stay safe, be safe, ride safe and take care 💖🇸🇬

Thsnk you so much! I'm trying to recreate that tachometer using a microcontroller only.
