"And for the Russian theme we have this simple folk song about eating tasty berries in your garden"
"Make it sound like the Devil waking up!"
Nyarl's channel and for Norway they have a lullaby, they made that sound like a death song, being played just before Hardrada nukes the sh*t out of everything you know and love!
Civ 5, English theme. the war version makes a solemn music turn into full blown British Empire
Not as ridiculous as Australia's theme song. A homeless guy who steals a sheep then drowns..
Its not about eating berries and sleeping under pines, its about loving our russian nature, you cant understand it, capatalists
Ahahahahahah
If you just go by the lyrics, this is a song about a man eating raspberries and falling asleep.
"Little red berry, red berry, red berry of mine!
In the garden (there is) a berry - little raspberry, raspberry of mine!
Ah, under the pine, the green one,
Lay me down to sleep,
Oh-swing, sway, Oh-swing, sway,
Lay me down to sleep."
The red berry is a mhetaphor for the atomic bomb

exactly) nice observation)
I mean, given the surprisingly lax nature of a lot of government positions and employees, this might be very likely true to life
Game Dev: "Hey so you know this Russian folk song about raspberries?"
Composer: "Yeah. What about it?"
Game Dev: "Make it epic."
Composer: "I got you, man."

he worked on the docks to help build a ship that was being built for him, i think he did it so he could personally learn about shipbuilding so he could jump start the Russian navy.
He did do that. He traveled whole Europe to bring new ideas and technologies back to Russia, which proved beyond successful as thanks to him, Russia became a real European superpower. But im pretty sure ive read something that said he was disguised so that people wouldnt treat him like royality.

Russia's themes make me think of loss of innocence.
At first you've got the peaceful Ancient era, sounding like a lullaby
Then the Medieval era is an energetic dance, suitable for a kid at play
The Industrial era is much darker, like when you go through drama & angst in your teens
And finally the Atomic era is frightening... and heart-wrenching. When you find out how harsh the world can be, what people have to go through... and that you might have to sacrifice your very life.

My first 'real' game of Civ 6, I'm using Poland and are neighbours with Russia. Since we're real close and often work together, we formed an alliance together, even fighting wars together.
So, imagine rows and rows of Cossacks and other military units moving around the Russian border very close to mine when every other civ starts to hate me because I was winning in culture and religion as this music keeps playing. It made me think that I have a really, really powerful ally that's also potentially very dangerous to me... If Peter decides to betray me and attack, it will be the bloodiest war ever.

Don't know, why people find this theme agressive.
For me this theme is a "deep down in Russia's spirit"
как Russian human yes
Idk why y'all hear sinister in this. For me, it's about a people who have reached great heights, but can't let go of a deep ache in their hearts. And/or, they're berry-pickers who don't belong in this modern world.
1:49
It has both. Once the choir kicks in it's definitely more tragic, but the first half of the song is pretty intimidating.
A reminisce of simpler times, where babushka keeps you fed and fat..
For me, it's after winning a big war and also starting to become a major power, a superpower.
It sounds sinister in the beginning like the time of the Cold War and the Soviet Union but then becomes heroic near the end like the people rising up from the ashes of the Soviet Union into the great nation Russia is today
The hopes (choir's human voice) and despair (instruments' sound) of the collective... gives me chills every time.

Sounds like an innocent man has been born out of ashes... Now nothing is holding him back(the nuclear siren time) and he is willing to sacrifice(dark chorus) everything for the purpose to be fulfilled. As the song climaxes, the audience is left in despair that the protagonist is turning to a villain. His fingers moving towards the Red Launch Button(ICBM).... The screen fades to darkness and a voice erupts "Missile Disabled...."
We might just be listening to this music soon
From the lively vibe of the medieval Kalinka to this dark rendition in the atomic age, it feels like through the Russian people's crave for technology and power they've lost their identity in the way.
Their identity remained the same, but the burden of the heroes on which that identity lives aches, and on those bodies, a new tomorrow is looked forward to.
Nick Azrieli that is truly fucking deep.
to note, the blood of Russia's heroes where the foundation of what she is today...
Mother Russia doesn't forget her heroes.
You are wrong... people from all across the Union, from Brest to Kamchatka, millions of peoples from across the land, are the foundation for half of the world today, including my family's...
idk but this theme hit different
Well
Shouldve added Information Era themes with Russian theme changed into that hardbass version of Kalinka
the music you hear when you have no idea where the fuck to put all your great people
would love to see this live!
Wow! That's very nice of you to give credit to the creators!
When I was new to Civ VI, I decided one day to declare war on Russia in the atomic era. He told me that invading Russia in the winter was impossible, and the next thing I knew I had dozens of Russian tanks blitzing through my borders. He's right; do not declare war on Russia during the winter.
Pov: You're Germany
*Это шедевр!!!*

_Kalinka music stops playing_
*_Katusyha music starts playing_*
No more katyusha. It's only СОЛНЦЕПЁК now
Imagine you’re on a battlefield and it starts to snow heavily and across the battlefield you hear soldiers sing 2:02 and the snow picks up as the song progresses and then at 2:57 the soldiers begin to beat in unison on beat with the song and finally at 3:17 they end the song with a Calvary charge
they are singing about eating raspberries, nothing scary at all
2:01 Im getting some serious Witcher 3 loading screen vibes here
Интересный факт: это самая просматриваемая песня всего плейлиста(:
Russian Music is best Music in the World. 🙂

@@DBT1007 Both is good. German-Russian Friendship is better 🇷🇺🤝🇩🇪
@@Fenrir.Lokisson Russo-German friendship is a bullshit in modern political reality.
@@Tosha2002current "German" government is bullshit. As a German, I hate them!
3:07 You can hear the Soviet anthem in the back
Yeah, barely
Good ears
2:00 all I’m saying is, if this wasn’t a Civ game (a game that tends to focus on the better parts of human history) they could’ve went with a song that just sounded more like this. I wish they kept going with the dark, looming, powerful giant theme. In other words “What Russia would sound like as a Dark Souls track.”
1:00 I can't help myself at not singing the song "trust me, I am an engineer" over that part.
