I love how he ministered to us while he painted telling us that we can do anything we want to do if we just believe in ourselves and that he believed in us too.
I absolutely love that Mr. Ross thanks God and has such profound respect for nature... I can't even put into words how much I love this. It's so wholesome and good...

Such a shame CZcams wasn't a thing back then, would have been awesome to see him have a channel with no time limitations and he could have full control of what was published. He would have had the most popular channel on YT hands down.
He definitely would’ve grown his show a lot more quickly. Though part of what makes his shows asmr is that it has the old school filming equipment before digital cameras were a thing

I just started painting with acrylic and it's so much fun and relaxing! Painted my first tree and then I gave it a little friend. Think you can learn a lot from just watching these videos.
People like to make "happy trees" jokes and all that, but he has some really good painting tricks in this show that every painter should know.
I don't think people mean it as a joke. He mentioned it a lot, I think it's very lovely how he explained it and made up stories about how the tree needs a friends etc.

Yeah it is great how he made up stories and made everything interesting. He was a really great art teacher.
He doesn’t use acrylics, except black geso. He uses thick very dry oil paints. Idiot.
@@Rcd872 that doesnt mean that that the general art tips in the videos arent helpful in every medium. bob ross's tutorials are great specifically bc they focus on the joy of creating art and general techniques applicable to all mediums

Its because he understands the frustration of putting alot of effort into something to potentially ruin it. Like acrylic painting can be nerve wracking.

I don't care what anybody says about bob😜I think he is awesome! He makes me feel good about me😊I'm not very talented but he makes me want to at least try. His voice is so calming and soothing that it relaxes me and that my dear is a very good thing in my case. 😊I know you are in a better place Bob and I miss you and watching your show. much love to you Bob 😚
You couldn't say it any better when I saw him here on you to my heart just sank remembering the years ago with it I had started painting and then and then something happened and I quit I think I might start up again because it brought me such Joy and his poor wife she passed away from cancer also but I also love the way that they love the animals Dutch kind-hearted people

So the other day, we were watching this while 'impaired'. We established that this is universally good for anybody. Child? you will be encouraged that anybody can paint. Bad trip? here is some positivity that will brighten your mood. Stoned? You will laugh and be amazed at the same time. Bad day? again, positive energy.
The blue and red "light" paints remind me of flavored cream cheese for bagels. Yum. Now I'm hungry lol. :)

My forever favorite painter
There was a guy before him that I remember trying to follow as a kid. He'd rough some stuff out, and then it would go to commercial, and then after the commercial the drawing would be done! I wish Bob was around when I was a kid.

I never knew how to paint trees and landscapes until I found Bob Ross... now it's my favourite thing to paint
I like how he can do this traditionally and take half an hour, when I try to do this digitally, it takes me half a day.
