      No. Jeff Emig was amazing. Ralph sucked. Dream crew would be Jeff Emig, and Grant Langston. I would throw Ricky in there. But as of late he’s been a total sellout. Acts much less like a former Mx racer and is now a full blown suit for the AMA.

      @Sneakerh0undRicky doesn’t fill the role of Ralph. That’s what Jason Weigandt and Leifh Diffy do. Look up play by play and color commentary. It’s a duo.

    I still can’t believe Jeff Alessi passed away. Im heartbroken for the Alessi family. As a fan of Mike I always supported Jeff. I know he created enemies with the laser pointer incident, but he was young and immature, and they definitely paid the price for it. Life is too short to hold grudges tho 🙏 801 🕊️

    Alessi was one of my favorite amateur riders of all time. The kid was so unbelievably fast, I believed he peaked too early. Mike has a great attitude and has given back to the sport. I wish him all the best. 👍

    I still have his 2007 Millville ktm jersey signed. Got to hang in his trailer with Jeff and him. Both great guys with a WHOLE different idea of what it takes to win. I swear Tony would cut your heart out and tape it to the carburetor if it gave Mike 2hp. He was nuts for winning

    I truly don't know, nor will anyone ever figure out how Mike did it.. You can't teach instincts. And he had the best instincts when it came to the gate drop. Legit would holeshot most of his races.

    Alessi never mastered the whoops in Supercross. That was his major weak point. But outdoors he was way better. 2009 he was the fastest I’ve ever seen him, I believe he could’ve won that championship but he got taken out. 2012 he would’ve won every race if there was a guy named Dungey! They were like a lap ahead of 3rd place every week!

  • @uprta
    @uprta Před 4 měsíci +1

    He was Mike Alessi til his 2008 crash, after that he just became Alessi, wasn't the same. He'd do amazing for the first 5 laps of every moto then trickle backwards, was always top 5 but just couldn't keep it for a 20 min moto

    • @JPW328
      @JPW328 Před 4 měsíci

      He was always like that in Supercross. But outdoors he was better. 2009 he was the fastest I’ve ever seen him, giving a great challenge to Reed, I believe he could’ve won that championship but got taken out via injury. Even though he was faster in 2009, in 2012 he won some races and was the only guy to challenge Dungey. They were like a lap ahead of 3rd place every week!

    • @uprta
      @uprta Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@JPW328 Even though some accusations about him circled around. I always wished he had a great season. You could see mentally he was all there but physically just couldnt like the others. When he was at their speed he was so out of his comfort zone leading to crazy crashes. He was RIGHT there, so close he could touch the bar, but not enough to hold onto it

    • @JPW328
      @JPW328 Před 4 měsíci

      @@uprta I think he peaked as a racer way too early. Arguably had the most dominant amateur career (tied for most Loretta Lynn titles) and once he got on the bike bike he was thrown to the wolves. I always hear RC and JS talk about “learning to lose” and how it’s so hard to keep that confidence of knowing you can win but at the same time knowing realistically where you stack up. I think Alessi career could of been 100x better but he still had an amazing motocross career overall had he not had the crazy hype from amateurs.

  • @jerrys2346

    He specialized in holeshots and crashes. It takes serious stones to pull holeshots against the guys he was racing. Unfortunately, holeshots don't pay that well.
