  • My second frisco 4004 video, One time i have my first frisco 4004 over on Elm street over the water tower were we hear the female voice and wail for longtime ago.
    Plus The ATI Hpss32's are all replaced with Whelen WPS 2910's

    My goodness Id love to see how these systems work from the ground up. I love understanding this kinda tech. I also love sirens. That ambient noise alone sounds both creepy and soothing. The DTMF tones would make it super freaky to hear at night. Thanks for the vid!

      Effectively phone lines and DTMF to send control codes through. However, this is old, analog technology.

      That's pretty much exactly what it is. Each tone corresponds to a number between 0 and 9 (and a few symbols) that can be decoded by a simple chip, just like on a touch-tone telephone.

      those are the noises a phone keypad makes. those (press 1 for this, press 2 for that) use these tones to determine which number you pressed. ​@@catwithabat7163

      It has the same sound as Whelen's WPS 2900 series of sirens. Whelen sirens all use the same warning tones

      @@adamssirenadventures6574 Just the DTMF part. There aren't a whole of lot sirens other than Whelen that do this DTMF stuff, so it's considered kind of unusual, especially to non-siren people.

    Franklin County Ohio (Columbus) used to do this the first Wednesday of every month. However now it's just a normal siren for at least the past few years.

    I have some about Silverado trail 4004 I think low pitched frequency potentially damages speakers well it’s had a low pitch esc 2020 probably over a decade and it’s kinda and google loud bass can damage speakers I feel surprised that one of speakers never blew out

      I hope so because I love the low pitch I’ve show a video of windy ridge 4008 doing low pitch to my friend and he said it’s creepy to hear it in the dark

      Back then, they would use DTMF tones to turn on the sirens and make them do Wail tones.

      actually the 4004 was installed for couple years ago like maybe 7 years ago, but sense the 2910 was installed in 2018 which is 2 years ago.

    What are the point of these DTMF tones, is it a malfunction for them to repeat the DTMF tone that many times?

      I know the DTMF tones are used over a Ham-Radio frequency on fire/police channels to activate sirens

      My guess is each siren plays a unique tone, and a series of microphones listen for them. It would allow the test to be automated, if a tone isn't received then the faulty siren is immediately located without human intervention. The tones would be played multiple times to reduce the possibility of a false positive if something drowns out the tone.
