I’m looking at both the NB4 & ex6, leaning towards the NB4 for cost but I’m not sure yet so I would love to hear your thoughts on both. I really enjoy the longer format of your videos, it’s great info when doing prepurchase research!
@@BMR3 I've got the nb4, just waiting for the reciever to arrive for ma030. I prefer the OS of the nb4 already and it looks high quality. But will wait until I have both. I think this mini z series is going to run to a lot more parts than I planned 😂

Getting new parts, tweaking setups, thinking of mods, making incremental improvements :) Transmitters are a bit of an investment, but they sound well worth it in the long run. I’m very happy to hear you like the NB4 OS, I’m leaning heavily towards that transmitter. They look great in my opinion & seem to be more compact then the EX 6 which is a plus for me.
Saw your comment on recent video but couldn't reply to it. There is a page on kyosho website that lists all mini z and which tx are compatible. I'll try and put a link in the description to current video so you can see which ones work with most mini z. As some of them don't. The flysky nb4 will only work with the evo reciever. So none of the other mini z will work with it. The ex6 only works with asf or mhs. I know it's confusing.
Great review, just finished a BZ3 build and get the feeling that it is a car that works out of the box but with a bit of tunning will handle significantly better than its out of the box experience. That said i now have the urge to pick up a MA-030
Thanks. We all loved it. Seems to have the best steering out of all the mini z awds and matches turning circle with bz3. The bz3 is a beast once mastered and tuned to your own style it flys. I expected the bz3 to be amazing a d it was ... The mini z suprised me, I did have to tune the dws but it was easy. I'm dying to try it with synchro touch.
@@GarageMiniRCUK The syncro touch is a way to level up in racing on its own, enjoying the BZ3 with the NB-4 however as its effectively a faster syncro touch but might wait till i can get a flysky Rx for the MA-030 before i think about biting the bullet
New to all this so, even though this is now about two years old, this was invaluable to explain the under the body. The AA batteries and run out of the box seems perfect for my needs, I assumed they were all lipo. Coming from a decade break and 1/8 nitro trugggies so I'm all about small and convenient now! Great vid. Gonna look more into the Mini-Z but that's likely a wormhole I shouldn't be looking to explore at 1.30am as i bet there are multiple chassis now. Thx.
Yes , the mao30 evo still is a good all round car both fro racing and drifting and easy to set up .the ma020 rtr sets are also good for this and cheaper as all included in box . I still use mine despite having more advanced cars .

MA030 looks pretty tamed while BZ3 is more twitchy probably because 5500KV + 2S lipo. Just imagine if BZ3 is more stable or on bigger track. Anyway, am I right in saying Mini-Z is just being Mini-Z? It's easy to pick up and drive.
Usually I find the awd mini z/rwd easy to drive, but have found the awd lacking in cornering ability even the brushless ma02ve. But this version has something more, I'm not sure if it's due to the front motor position giving more downforce, but the steering mechanism seems improved also .On the video you can see it taking the "s" bends without difficulty(drift tyres) . I haven't taken it apart yet so will report on once I do. I think to give a better review I will test both with grip tyres. As always thanks for your input Mr B.
Thanks for the watch. One of my first videos. Hopefully both the drift racing on RCP and now the grip tyre racing has improved! The sound modulation I only noticed on this video once I played it on headphones after you mentioned it. Yes. 😂. I am looking to aquire a microphone and camera set up as the channel has grown and I don't think using my phone cuts it anymore. Always welcome viewer input it's how I implemented the ghost car comparisons. 👍🏽
@@GarageMiniRCUK ya know, I thought so, but I've got about 200 extra in parts into my 030 LM and honestly my AMZ 4wd is so much faster than I can ever get my 2ws to drive. Its so fast and really smooth. I practice on a very technical home track, so it might favor the additional traction and control of a 4wd.

Ma030 still comes with plastic driveshafts? I have ma020 which did an found those an hubs failed quickly, upgraded them no more dnfs. I also run atomic amz luv it prefer it over kyosho ma020. Undecided which to get next bz3 or GLA. Do luv my mr02 mr03's various brushed set ups run also got mr03ve not fan tbh converting a F1 to brushless 3/4 complete.
Hi,thanks. I'll try and find one. But here is a quick summery. All older A. S. F mini z have adjustability of braking with the ics leads. All the newer mini z evo also have this feature. The mini z that are fhss or fhs do not have adjustable braking with ics lead just standard braking. 👍🏽
My ma030 is on a wide site up. 3 at back and zero or one at front I'll have to double check. I really should make a spreadsheet of all my cars and wheels sizes.....😂 On a narrow set up it can take offset 3 at front and 4 at rear

try to set all electronic to have better CG on BZ3 you can see huge different .....at bigger track with the race tire .....sorry to said Mini-z MA030 with fully hop ....you can see the huge different .....
Kyosho mini z drift tyres with wheels that came with shell. kyosho.com/mini-z-info/products/auto-scale-collection-for-mini-z-awd/ This page lists the wheelbase and offsets. It's 98mm, front 4.5 narrow and rear wide 2.2. These wheels were included with the set. I got this model from plaza Japan a few months ago and I'm not sure if wheels are available seperate to body. Yes. Later videos I learned this. The ma030 evo awd has its place I love it(easy to set up) and hate it(limited options) . But when you bring in the gla... Which can drift very well and is a true racer then its a different class. The evo as a racer is predictable handling wise but to give it a chance you have to use lipo aaa cells. To give it 7.4v and a better power to weight ratio. In later videos you see these issues become evident. But as a ture mini rc addict I cant help but try them all. 👍

@@rctony710 the cars are so fast on normal tires that causes more damage when crash into each other as our track is only small , also we like drift style racing more skill to get around circuit, also means set up is more fun. Plus great shots of sliding... more than welcome to join us great fun ☺

You can use a transponder with the OG mini z's you just have to move the pins in the plug to the other end of the plug. And it works fine.

Did you drift race them/rally? I see you have drift tires on. Or is this rubber tire grip racing?
Drift tyres. Rally style. Since then I've created a rally style gla raised suspension and a track with jumps.

Why is the front right wheel bent on the evo?
It was set with toe out on both wheels just not visible on video 👍🏽

In the UK we don't have "zee" only zed like the general alphabet x, y, zed .......aplogies. We call mini zee... Zeds for short over here.

Thanks I did this last week it really helped. Also changed to mclaren mc12 body. We race drift style and I think the bz3 is better as race style.
I'm looking forward to racing on a bigger track. I know bz3 will win in this situation.
