    That was crazy powerful. GG man. And unlike other vids I looked up, you actually put the build in the description so other people could follow it. Big ups. So many other vids didn't do this simple thing. But it's absolutely vital if you're struggling on the boss and want to replicate a strategy you saw in a guide. I was actually contemplating grinding to like level 90 because my team is getting destroyed at level 80. But seeing you do this at the low 60s means I was just running a bad setup. Going to copy your now. lol Thanks again. :)

    I failed twice "following" your guide. Then i realized Olberic had to be at 1 HP, as shown on the video, that makes all the difference.
    Once i did that, my Olberic was able to literally destroy Galdera.
    Thanks for the guide!

    So if you're just looking to kill Caldera and don't care if you do it quickly - this makes an excellent starting point.
    The second phase is the tough one. If you have a powerful sorceror, as long as you've got party members able to support them you'll be fine.
    The second phase is the tough one - the first few attempts my party nearly got wiped out about the time I finished setting up and I wasn't able to recover.
    So I stopped trying to use Fortitude. Instead I put Saving Grace on Olberic. Ophilia was my best healer, so I brought her in with dancer as her subjob.
    I had everyone aside from Olberic equipped with Saving Grace, Patience, Encore and Hang Tough.
    I didn't use the Runeblade as additional damage in the first phase. Instead I had Cyrus focus solely on buffing and healing Therion, who was my Sorceror.
    I started off the second phase feeding BP to Olberic, over healing with Ophilia, and building up to use Dohter's Charity with Alfyn and boosted Transfer Rune + Sidestep with Tressa. I also brought the Luckless Sellsword into the fight for Full Enfeeblement.
    Once I had Reflective Veil and Sidestep on everyone, the battle was as good as over. I even got a bit too excited the first time I broke Caldera and used the Warrior's divine skill instead of the Warmaster's divine skill and I still won after breaking him a second time.
    You don't have to be completely geared out or at a really high level to pull this off - just make sure you've got a good supply of Revitalizing Jams and make your second party as hard to kill as possible. Full Enfeeblement was a HUGE help toward the end of the second part, too.
    The fight looks a lot more intimidating than it is - it's mostly down to knowing the mechanics, knowing what to expect and keeping your party alive long enough to do whatever set up you need to do. (Which, unfortunately, can be down to RNG - I really wish there was a save point after the boss rematches.)

    Usually, in a game with a lot of playable characters (Final Fantasy 10 and 12 for example) you can easily finish the adventure with 3 or 4 characters without too much difficulty ... In this game, you have 8 characters and you can't neglect any of them. I never managed to beat phase 1 ... I looked what phase 2 looked like and when I saw that the 2nd team had replaced the previous one, in my head , I thought "Come on, go exp!" u_u On the video it is in "all or nothing" mode from the start and ... it obviously works, another video on which I will copy the equipment of each character

    • @Mario497
      @Mario497  Před 4 lety +1

      Thanks.
      And the reason why I didn't put the whole build down is because I didn't have time. I currently am not at home so I cant really do it. The other characters builds aren't that important just give them stuff that allows them to buff for more turns and making sure they live
      eg: divine aura, saving grace, hang tough, encore patience. The works.
      As for equipment, again just make sure why have good defences. Attack doesn't really matter since they wont be doing that.
      And for Olberic, you just need to give him the battle tested weapons with 2 mighty belts, death cleaver and giants club.

    Hmmm i think if i shuffle the jobs like in the video i might have a bigger chance.
    I am roughly level 70 (some are above some closely below more 68 - 69) i had a problem with being catched off guard by the spell break galdera uses which wrecked my party almost instantly.

    • @Mario497
      @Mario497  Před 2 měsíci

      Not sure what you mean bu spell break but usually strategically breaking in the correct times (usually at the beginning of turns) and doing a lot of backloaded damage in a couple of turns is the key (ie: having your main dps character to be buffed to do the highest damage possible during break)

    Question and hopefully you see this, I nkow this video is old. Is there any reason you used Mighty Belt for Olberic over say, Physical belt? Was it just the ones you had on hand? And in such a case, would having the Physical belt not make much difference? I have two mighty belts already and was originally going to try to get the Physical belts but didn't wanna bother grinding for those if they're not necessary or gonna do much more than the mighty ones I own already. Thanks!

    Does the second phase heavily involve one's luck? For example, you need to make sure 1) olberic doesn't start first or it'll be very hard to survive, 2) the maw doesn't attack everyone the first turn, 3) your hunter is placed right after olberic in order to do leg hold trap for the next round. I lose because of cases 1 and 2, never even survived long enough to consider case 3.

    • @Mario497
      @Mario497  Před 2 lety

    • @Mario497
      @Mario497  Před 3 lety

      It can get much harder if Olberic dies or your warmaster. That's why you it is best to have cover to negate physical attack. As for the Maw, yes it is a problem and that can happen. The best solution is to try to go for the break using hunter's arrowstorm or having boost start equipped on your cleric so you can apply 3 reflect on warmaster

      Its because of the extra damage when using Balogar's Blade. Since Balogar hits 6 times with all 6 elements. Harold's Sword increases fire damage by 1.3x, which helps boost Balogar's Blade's damage. The Battle-tested Axe and the Bishop's Staff has the same effect but for other elements.
