    Disassembly guide for the left ear cup to reach the loose bolt of the mic arm. Make sure to use a drop of glue or Loctite between the nut and bolt of the mic arm so it can't get loose anymore. If this guide was helpful for you please leave a thumbs up :-)

      I have an older model with the sticker hidden screw and even that felt anti-consumer repair as heck, your newer model sounds worse again,
      I paid $180 AUD for my headset, I damn well want to be able to repair it for free when it is out of warranty.
      BTW the cable for the older model is pseudo braided internally and it frays very easily, that's why I'm even here, was trying to replace the cable as a whole 15cm of the meter was damaged from just being rubbed or pressed against things

    Thanks for this, managed to get it fixed without breaking anything.
    The clips are really annoying to get out.
    I got it by pushing a flat screwdriver between the clip (the taller part) and the blocker piece (the lower part)
    once they separated you just push them a little and then you can pull it apart.
    CAREFUL though, the cable for the speaker is REALLY short.

The other day i also replaced the full jack wire (8$ on aliexpress) now i still have to fix the mic, i will try tomorrow but i guess again it's broken wire (i hope not inside the caoutchouc of the mic arm). I don't have that information sorry... Isn't it possible to use a multi-meter to measure what cable goes where? Should be possible to find it out that way unless the cable is broken very near the jack plug. The polarities are also indicated on the circuit board in the ear piece (See 2:36 in the video) Also check this website for information about jack plugs: mynewmicrophone.com/how-do-headphone-jacks-and-plugs-work-wiring-diagrams/

    @Luqmas Před 2 lety +1

    Man I love these HP's but the four pins that are holding the speakers are a bitch to unpin ... I broke all four. No matter, the screws are holding it all together nicely. Mike is tight (maybe a little too tight). All works great.

      SECOND!! :p Yeah those pins can break pretty fast when applying too much force on them. Lucky indeed that the screws keep the whole thing together. I'm happy you fixed the problem as well :-)
      My mic arm was loose again the same day after making this video, so as mentioned in the subtitles and video description i can advise to use a very tiny drop of loctite (or superglue could work too i guess) on the nut/bolt part. It hasn't loosened again until now.

    my mic doesnt work only in a specific angle cam anyone know how to solve

    • @THEMR2RACER
      @THEMR2RACER  Před rokem

      Sounds like a broken mic cable to me. Haven't researched that problem my self, but with a multimeter you should be able to test it (or just leave it plugged in and bend the cable a different point to see when the mic cuts off). at 7:16 you can see the picture of where the mic cable comes out of the mic arm into the ear cup. Mostly these kind of loose contact occur in the area where the cable moves the most when adjusting the mic arm angle, which is right in that area. IF the problem is a loos contact / broken mic cable then replacing it as much as possible would be the best solution, but can be tricky (don't know how the mic arm opens up for example, and the inner cables can be very thin)
      Or maybe the problem comes from the part where the mic cuts off by putting the mic arm in the up/closed position.
      Breaking it more then it is now is always a possibility when trying to repair such things, so be careful and good luck :-)

      I can be very tricky to loosen them indeed (also not to break them) You have to push them aside a little bit while pushing them in. Pay attention to how you hold the ear cup, you can easily hold the part you are trying to push back. Also it can happen that a previously loosened clip will pop back when pushing the next one in. If its possible you could wedge something like folded paper or something between the casing after loosening one of the clips. If you succeed, please be careful with the internal cables as they are very fragile.

    in resume 5:25 didn't happen at all

    • @THEMR2RACER
      @THEMR2RACER  Před 8 měsíci

      What can happen is that a previously "unclipped" clip locks back again when working on the next clip. Maybe it can help to pry something between the 2 parts after loosening a clip so it cant lock back. Every clip can only be pushed in one direction to unhook, and not too much or it could break....
      Hope you'll succeed!
