&ALICENT STARTED IT WHEN SHE WENT BEHIND RHAENYRA's (HER BFF's) BACK AND GOT WITH HER FATHER right after Rhaenyra's mother died. Her fake self righteousness is nauseating. What are you talkin about that you don't think Alicent is at fault?? Are you blinddd. ALSO -- Bastards can be legitimized (as many do in the GoT and Fire and Blood too) House Baratheon is built on a bastard's shoulders fyi. And legitimized bastards can claim the throne. AND REMEMBER WHEN THE NORTH NAMED JON SNOW THEIR KING?? They knew he was a bastard, but they still rebelled against those bullshit norms and made a new norm. And I didn't see anyone being upset about Jon being King of the North. PS-- Daemon's gonna protect Jace, Luce, Joffrey. ALSO Greens only have 3 dragons.

Rhaenyra's kids are as Targaryen as Alicent's kids. Alicent has 0% Valyrian DNA as did Harwin Strong. There is no reason why Rhaenyra's kids would struggle to control dragons but Alicent's wouldn't. Laenor, imo, wasn’t wholly committed because he had the whole galavanting with Qarl thing going on and although he absolutely deserves to be with Qarl as per his arrangement with Rhaenyra, he perhaps ought to have worked on balancing his time between his lover and his wife and (step, sort of-) children. Rick is right about the handling of Alicent. She is an extension of the king and marital issues between the king and queen in this time could potentially mean collapse. Also Viserys just isn't that guy. Others would probably want to kill her off but at this point in the story Alicent has a ton of influence. In fact the greens vs the blacks started because it split the court with the greens aka the queen's party and the blacks aka the princess's party. Even in Eastern Asian royal customs they couldn't just get rid of the queens or the queen mothers without there being some extremely complicated process. Also at this point while Rhaenyra is the heir, Viserys is still alive so Alicent's position is unseemly but she's still considered more senior at the moment. Especially since she's also the mother of four of the King's children, two of them being healthy sons. Finally, Viserys just isn't in a position health-wise to severely punish Alicent. They may not be in love but he trusts her and he just reinstated her father as hand which would please House Hightower. Basically, it's not worth the political headache to do something severe about her.

lenor is alive but some random innocent is killed. also with lenor still alive, any children she will have with daemon are also going to be illegitimate. and what about seasmoke given what dragons are supped to be, especially to their rider in that world? and there will be lot more plot holes if he keeps being alive. hope writers kill him by some accident soon.
also the fact that rhaenyra and daemon expect lenor to give up everything but the boyfriend and be a willing tool of them, says a lot about their mindset towards others. this was same as cole asking her to flee to essos. it was too selfish of cole to ask then, it was same for them to ask lenor . fact that he agreed makes his character weak and unlike him as presented before.

When films shoot complex sequences in true night, visibility of the subjects is achieved with complex and expensive lighting, often utilizing huge rigs and cranes. He said "We are family!" which I translated as it doesn't matter if they were bastards because they are sons of Rhy. He was even exhilarated when Rhy proposes to combine their families through marriage. What he's really blind to is the fact that Alicent sees only what his father fed to her from the beginning so she doesn't see what he'd always wanted (for them to be a family). Rhy actually tried mending it with Alicent but she refuses because bitterness is just too deep in her already. She envies what Rhy is capable of getting away with while she upholds the righteousness that limits her to be her true-self.

This episode was by far the best. The only problem was the lighting but other than that everything else was great. Me personally I feel Viserys made a lot of wrong choices that could've prevent many things. One is allowing Otto to manipulate situations to cause problems between Daemon and him. Vserys knew what Otto was yet chose to ignore. Second he could've waited until Laena was age then married if possible. Instead he chose Alicent, giving him more power to conspire. Third I feel if he allowed Daemon and Rhaenyra to marry 10 years ago they could've had legitimate kids which wouldn't have been questioned. GRRM is a genuis for having the characters reject these solutions that would've prevent the chaos to come. Alicent is a victim of her father but she is an adult and Queen and continues to allow her father to make the decisions which is why I'm not on her side. Her decisions are becoming more unstable and she is unraveling day after day.
