Having grown up in a very dysfunctional house, I've always had a hard time wrapping my head around what real love was, until I came into the Catholic church. I see that God's mercy is true love, and I'm so happy and thankful for that.

So Fr. Mark, I presume you would agree keeping the wrong people out of heaven would include any false pope of the church, past and/or present. Kindness and humility are Christian attributes, but they have to be genuine. Bob Dylan has a song "Sometimes satan comes as a man of peace."
There are 2 kinds of people. Those who care and those who pretend to care. You can tell who the phonies are because they go to great lengths to put on a show of caring.
When some MS-13 gang members burned alive an 11 or 13 year old kid in a barrel of gasoline, as a warning to kids who wouldn't join their gang, Trump called them animals. I love animals, so I'm never happy to hear evil people called animals, but I new what he meant. Nancy Pelosi was quick to condemn not the gang members, but Trump. She said how can a person call people animals; everyone has a "spark of divinity." Funny, she never mentioned that about the 70 million children murdered in abortion, which she supports. And when she was rightfully refused communion in her own parish, she traveled to the vatican and was given communion. Oh, I know it wasn't the pope himself who gave her communion, but he knew. He is very politically aware. She says abortion is a matter between a woman and her god. Yes, and that god is the one Jesus calls the "god of this world" and all true Christians who have "eyes to see, ears to hear, and minds that understand" know who that is.
I pray for you Fr. Mark. I also pray for the pope and false Christian catholics like Pelosi and Biden, and all my enemies, but for me as, once again, it's Dylan who states, "it's easy to see, without looking too hard."

I never read poetry until you chose “Always Near: Vol. 1” by Susan Werner as a recommendation for your “School of Reading” and I loved it so much that I ordered volumes 2, 3 and 4 too. Through her incredible poems, Mrs. Werner brings us all closer to Christ as you can feel His loving presence in each amazing verse. They are proof of St. Jerome’s quote, “When we pray we speak to God; but when we read, God speaks to us.” Daily spiritual reading has also really helped me to be still and commune with the Lord. God bless you always!!

It's so strange I should be listening to this tonight Fr Mark, about slowing down because as I was praying at Mass today (usually I pray quite fast) and it was like I had no control over the speed of my prayer.... I was praying so s l o w and I could do nothing about it and was VERY aware of it, I found it very strange and now I am listening to you.... like reaffirming the message.

yes, so true about getting into a calm state. I studied Greek this last year because it slowed me diown reafing the bible. It seems strange to say I was given understanding through this tat i never had reading in English. I didn’t read as a biblical studies exercise or to tear spart meaning, I read it like a little Greek child, aloud learning it word by word, slowly. What a fifference it has made.
The same thing happens to me when I read the Bible or any prayer or a spiritual book in English - which is not my first language. So I have to read like a child for whom everything is a discovery and this has helped me a lot to grow spiritually.
I think it was St. Terese who said, "Lord, make me a saint but please be gentle."🙏

That already happened in my family. I am peaceful, calm and restful in the Lord and then somebody comes in and starts telling me things that I should be doing that isn’t peaceful and calm and they are the ones that don’t practice of faith. It’s happening now we don’t have to wait. I don’t know how to deal with that. I tried to make reason had that and they don’t understand. So I think I have to keep my mouth shut and just pray while they’re doing that go to

I’m trying to be humble here, but I remember a fallen away Catholic at Mass telling me that I needed to have a personal relationship with Jesus etc, etc. She left the Church (again) when a priest from India came and she said she couldn’t understand him.. up is down… just keep praying for an authentic conversion. I think I understand now, I don't have the words yet to put it into language but my brothers and sisters of The Divine Will prayed for me as and Euan, as a special intention then pain came then my while outlook on life became different. More will be revealed maybe by God. ❤

Calmness and slowness are not virtues. When guys like Fr.Mark propagate these ideas they are just trying to appeal to human nature to be lazy and slothful. This is a mindset we need to root out of the Church because it helps lead to all the scandals we see. It leads to blissful ignorance that the unscrupulous can take advantage of. St Paul used analogies of running a race. Jesus talked about being on fire. Passion is not about calmness and slowness.
So why are you being lazy and slothful watching CZcams and not out being on fire running the race?🎉😂

What is remarkable about the Gospel is that it hints that even in rebukes that Jesus is calm. After His Resurrection, He greets people with "Peace be with you" The seven deadly sins were developed from a survey of Scripture. Wroth is warned against repeatedly through Scripture. It was that sin that prevented Moses from setting foot in the promised land in this life.
Calm is not lazy. Calm is not native. Calm is Christ's peace.
@atrifle8364 there is a season for everything. The problem is for many people Christianity serves the function of an opiate. It is not about love, it is about providing an excuse to be calm and lazy and slothful and not striving. This is why so many Christians ignore the scandals in the Church, because it would "disturb their peace." This is not what Christianity is about.
This is questionable at best. Calmness and slowness are not virtues. St Paul used the apology of running a race and fighting the good fight. Overemphasized on calmness and slowness is just an emotional appeal to being slothful.

Mary and Mary is about buearacracy vs authenticity. Martha was attending to banal tasks. Mary was concerned with passionate intellectual learning. The calmness often has alot to do with the banal

When a disciple lives not for his/her own will but for God's will to be accomplished, the Holy Spirit uses him/her accordingly. This could be in what seems an active way, a quiet contemplative way, or anything in-between.
What does it mean in scripture when it says, "Be still and know that I am God?"
Why oh why are clergy so focused on determining who isn’t in the kingdom? Suggest all read Pope Francis’s work, The Name of God is Mercy.
