I had the privilege of being at the pontifical TLM offered by Bishop Strickland early October at the Catholic Identity Conference in Pittsburgh. Even though he was somewhat out of his comfort zone, Bishop Strickland took painstaking care to offer the most beautiful, reverent Mass. He was also the surprise keynote speaker the night before, welcomed with a standing ovation by more than 700 Catholics. I was moved deeply by his humility, pointing to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Sacred Heart of Jesus as his constant source of strength and hope, and his urgent message that we all - out of Christian love- pray fervently for Pope Francis. Truly a good shepherd and a devoted brother bishop to the pope- caring more for Francis’s soul than do those bishops who promote heresy and confusion, or who out of cowardice or fear for their ‘careers’ hesitate to gently yet firmly hold this pope accountable to defend the true faith. God bless Bishop Strickland and grant that we may follow his humble example.

Fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom. This explains the mess we are in today as many have turned away from God's laws and commandments.
(Job 28:28) Behold, the fear of the LORD, that is WISDOM; and to depart from evil is understanding.
(Psalms 111:10) The fear of the LORD is the beginning of WISDOM: a good understanding have all they that do His commandments: His praise endureth for ever.
Wisdom is found in observing the commandments of God and not those of men. The RCC removed the 2nd commandment from the Decalogue and changed God's Sabbath day.

Just the basic 10 Commandments need to be taught. Some people need it, it's not already built in in their mind & soul.

I'm Catholic, my leader is Jesus, not a heretical Pope. We don't have to listen to or do anything the Pope says that goes against the word of the Lord (which is pretty much every second word out of his heretical mouth).
Jesus told us the truth would set us free. The truth is that Francis isn't Catholic. The sooner you accept the Truth (and therefore Jesus) the sooner you can be free.

Funny thing. The only bishop I have heard of from Texas is the former bishop of Tyler, Texas. He sure was filled with the "spirit" alright. But not the Holy Spirit. Some other spirit. That led him to disavow and betray the Roman Pontiff and Supreme Head of the Roman Catholic Church.

My heart burned when I heard the Word of Jesus saying, "The Kingdom of God is among you." It struck a chord with my profound conversion experience 16 years ago during a pilgrimage. I was a lukewarm Catholic, and my marriage was falling apart having led a life of infidelity. Blessed Mother came into my hotel room, leading me to Christ. I saw the Eucharistic lights on the wall with the stole. Although I did not see Jesus physically, that experience changed me instantly since I experienced the joy and love that was out of this world. I now yearn to be with Jesus in the Eucharist with a daily examination of conscience to be in the state of grace. Viva Cristo Rey and Ave Maria.

The last thing Strickland is. Is "the St John Fisher of our time." That is a ridiculous thing to say. The latter died because he would not deny the Supremacy of St Peter's successor in Rome. Indeed. Nothing our Protestant brothers and sisters like more than having Catholics become essentially Protestant. Protesting the supremacy of the Roman Pontiff. Led to this position by such as Bishop Strickland.
I have his book defending the priesthood from Martin Luther. He knew his stuff too. He also refused promotions because he loved the poor people of Rochester more than elevating his position in the church.

Indeed history does repeat itself. It is full of errant bishops and clerics who betray their vocation and calling. Just like Bishop Strickland. I recall Fulton Sheen remarking on how deep that betrayal really is. Far deeper than if a mere layman committed the same sin.
