  • We link up two PS2 consoles with an iLink cable.
    Then play Time Crisis 2 and 3 on two CRTs to show some fun 2 player co-op gameplay.

    Sony really dropped the ball on the iLink or firewire port as most people know it.
    Man, it has so much more potential. To bad they never did more with it.

      I feel like it was an early idea that got pushed aside for focus on net play. Microsoft devs were the people who knew enough about networking to realize the network cable could pull double duty.

    Thanks! I wanted to know which cable it supported, so basically any 4-pin firewirse should work right?
    We actually had the same case scenario which was for the Lightgun games, there is a couple more but they are like extras in my eye, Time Crisis with iLink basically replicates the arcade without the needs of the entire cabinet lol
    Thank you so much for the video! Cheers from Mexico~

    Would you be able to use this PS2s/iLink setup to play PS1 games that were compatible with the original PS1 link cable (that connected two PS1s via the serial port)?

    • @paulgraves1392
      @paulgraves1392 Před rokem +2

      From what I gather theres no compatibility there. The PS1 link cable is a null modem cable. PS2 uses Firewire. Unless there was a way to get the PS2 to emulate serial using the Firewire port, there isnt any chance that this will work.
