Such a good dude. I worked on his house once. And he was so happy to talk basketball, so joyful, Rodney even gave me a 1996 NBA allstar hat. Thanks for making this one... Can you do Rasheed Wallace, maybe hit on his techs and his personality.

U just took a guy that was big and who could dunk and said Zion, naw man just my opinion let zion be one of one in nba history 285lbs....45 to 47 inch vertical post game, decent shot, good defensive intangibles ect I like the comparison bruh it's fun to see but not enough to make a video if zion stay healthy and progress how we all envision he wouldn't have to travel to 5 or 6 different teams like rodney did a talent like zion your locking him in for the long haul

If you're from tha Bull 🐂 City & grew up in tha era of Rodney Rodgers then this video is kinda bitter sweet. He was & still is our LEGEND to make it from where he grew up & to make it to the NBA took heart & dedication. The High School gyms would literally be packed & everyone came to see & support Mr. Rodgers the way he played it was clear & evident he was before his time & so yes the comparisons to Zion are there I've heard great basketball minded coaches & players say the same thing. In College he was very dominate & he had carved out one helluva run in the league. I remember growing up purchasing all his NBA cards (still have them to this day) & rocking his Nuggets jersey it was Dope to say one of our own had made it & the sense of pride, hope & dreams he installed in the youths of Durham was a thing of beauty! This is why he was & forever will be our LEGEND! S/O to Stunted growth for putting this together ya definitely earned my sub!!

That Denver team had Robert Pack, Mahmoud Abdul Rauf as well. Rauf and Rodgers are basically Steph Curry and Zion Williamson of that era. I remember reading somewhere that Robert Pack Told his Mother that she had him to early and that he was born in the wrong era. Robert Pack was a speed guy cost to coast. He went undrafted in the 90s. In todays modern game, He would be a top 5 lottery pick in almost every draft. top ten for sure each year. That right their shows you how much the game changed!
The same works today as well! Drummond probably would be a superstar in the 90s but in todays era he just a ok player at best that does not affect the game as he would have if he played in the slow paced half court 90s.
Even though I loved 90s ball in the Jordan era, I much prefer todays era from a offensive perspective. Just the fact that Steph Curry and Zion Williamson would be regulated and chained up based on dumb coaches and style of play of the 90s and 2000s of midrange love, hate of 3 pointers, lack of pace and space, lack of a green light, and lack of stretching the floor with a stretch 4 would have made a talent like steph and zion have mediocre to bad careers in the 90s and 2000s. How de we know this? the example is with Rauf and Rodgers.
Their only hope would be if they played under Don Nelson or Mike D'Antoni. two guys who are instrumental for todays style of basketball.
Just looking at Rauf in College highlights and games and a nba coach not being able to operate a offense like this for him before the flag saga wih Rauf is damn shame.
People Vastly underrate coaching. Coaching and tactics definitely can make or break a players career.

They should’ve had Rogers run the point forward like the had Anthony Mason do in the 90s. Actually. Anthony Mason or Jamal Mashburn would be great videos.

Rodney was always a good player and a wild card player. He made some big plays for the Nets in the 2003 playoffs.

Rodney Rodgers was a beast I remember him when I was a teenager I always thought he could of been more with the right team or either more touches on Denver

And true the nba was way different than it is now but just imagine if Denver would of let rr like you said be him back then that could of been some trend setting stuff

The Zion Larry Johnson comparisons needs to stop... I don't see where people get that from at all. Larry was a lot more finesse, a way better passer, post man and had way more offensive game than Zion. The only thing close is the fact they're both built and the jump out the gym. Larry had game. Jab step, crossovers, came off screens AND SHOT THE 3, Hakeem the dream post shakes, no look passes and he fit his position better. He was nothing like Zion and I think those comparisons need to stop. Zion has the chance to be a great player, even better than Larry, but those comparisons are just disrespectful to the grandmama 💪🏾✊🏾

Just looking at this video definitely 100% agree. He would've and could've been much better if he was in today's era where its more versatile.
