"Fuck you Peck you're a mormon!" - Krátké a kreslené filmy
“Fuck you, Peck, you’re a Mormon.. next to you, we all have a drinking problem” 💀
This is honestly one of my most favorite movie lines ever. 😂😂😂
Where’s the lie?!?😂😂😂
It's true hahahaha
@@DdgeluvinHic Mine too. :)
"This is a crucifixion , this is political. and dont tell me its not " - every man with a drinking problem
And the very next scene is where he drops ice cubes to whiskey 😂
he's drinking the entire movie...he's always got a drink around...and yes he's tempermental as well...but idk if that affected his actual job...he seemed level headed when not confronted with bs...who knows...
He’s a very highly functional drunk lol, so essentially half of Wall Street
Look this doesn’t have to be unpleasant
😂
“This uhhh doesn’t have to be unpleasant” as it gets more and more unpleasant hahahaha
Does anyone else besides me find it difficult, if not impossible, to get through this scene without watching it a least 3-10 times? There's something about Malkovich getting angry that I find beyond hilarious. Actually, the entire movie is comedic genius.
Malkovich is a scary guy... Once on Letterman he recounted a story when he almost killed a guy with a bowie knife.
@@cheeseandonions9558 WTF? Never heard that before. It's kind of surprising but I believe it could have happened.
I know. The man is so funny and frightening at the same time. Did you ever see him in "Ripley's Game" when he heard The Host of a Party he attended talking Smack about him and he says "Meaning" which is so bone chilling and frightening. It's also the beginning of Jonathan Trevanny's downfall.
comedic genius is right!
Definitely. The acting is just so good, from Malkovich and all of them. Like every little movement he makes is hilarious
I love the way David Rasche plays his character, like someone who is trying to be a figure that is authoritative in a low-key manner, but actually has no aplomb whatsoever and becomes nervous whenever anything happens at all.
Keeps doing uhm uhm uhh all the time 😂
In all my years of working, most managers are like this. They want the title, but don't have the backbone to back it up.
Yes, Rasche perfectly captures the inuctuous bureaucrat haplessly trying to do the right thing but just can't follow through. He is a fine underrated actor.
He is in the tv-show Succession. His character there has a similar personality. Exactly what you described
@KlaymenDel he does get pretty badass in last episodes
Next to you, everyone has a drinking problem! That's a good one.
Greg Ruelas as a Mormon, I laughed so hard in this scene! That wasn’t just good, it was GOLDEN!
Fucking mormons.
I have mormon family. So true
Amen brother
LOL!! It is known that FBI & CIA hire a lot of Mormons. Why? Cleaner background and more "honest"....
What's great, is that in almost every other scene in this movie he has alcohol in his hand. Reinforcing the fact that he DOES have a drinking problem
Actually, next scene. Great editing.
Fuck you The Fandom624. You're a Mormon, next to you we all have a drinking problem!
But wouldn't that be after the fact, though? For all we know he started drinking heavily after being railroaded like this.
Whats the "problem" though? Cant a man just enjoy a drink. lol
So that means he has no problem drinking problem, it’s the other people who have a problem with him drinking.
We know it’s not his work, he’s a great fucking analyst
“WHOSE! ASS! DIDNT! I KISS?!?!” 😂
Osborne glaring at Olsen when he asked that lol 😂
Malkovich was gonna portray the Vulture in the cancelled Spider-Man 4. Damn I really wanna see him as the Vulture. He’s perfect for the role.

I have always been confused on who is Olson and why is he there?
He really pulls off wearing that bow-tie
Really ties the room together
I love how uncomfortable Cox makes his boss
I always wondered why Olsen was there.
I'd guess he was Cox's replacement?
Well, it's pretty obvious that he has a drinking problem.
He seems more like an internal affairs guy aka someone you don’t fuck with
@@Divine_R they dont even say the title/ words. thats how you know he is 🤣 spot on sir
I always though he was HR. An HR rep typically has to be there when you fire or demote someone to make sure the company doesn’t say something that would open them to lawsuits. At the start of the scene, you’re meant to think he’s from some secretive agency or something, but then ends up just being Human Resources, maybe the most mundane of departments. That feels like the Coens’ type of humor to me.
“This. Is an. Assault.” Best reaction for the workplace
The Cohen brothers write some bloody good material. Actors must love the opportunity of being in their movies. Every scene JM is in, he steals the show. My top 10 most re-watched movies.

"Palmer, with all due respect: What. The *fuck*. Are you talking about?"
Best moment of the clip that I am surprised no one else is mentioning. The way Malkovich is rubbing his face and squints his eyes before delivering this line. 😂
This line bubbles up in my mind whenever someone I am supposed to respect is making no sense at all, haha. I wish I had the courage to deploy it more often! Such a Coen Brothers line: "wtf are you talking about?" They use it a lot in The Big Lebowski too.
It lights the fuse for the rest of the scene.
My favorite as well
seriously I can't get enough of this scene, I keep watching it over and over. John Malkovich performance is hilarious in this scene
Most movies with him in are worth watching just for him alone. I thought Brad Pitt was excellent in this movie too, he really got into character. George Clooney parodied himself quite well but still the acting wasn't up to par.
1:55 has the best damn delivery lmao
I was hanging the laundry out to dry a few days back, and this scene suddenly popped into my mind. Gotta love when Malkovich is angry, such raw emotion.
Funnily enough I was driving home from work today and suddenly Pitt's phonecall to Malkovich popped in my head. It's hilarious when he get's sick of Pitt asking if he's Osbourne Cox.
@@walkingslow6286 there's something so raw about Malkovich being pissed off. It's entertaining.
Few people can do angry, like Samuel L. Jackson and John Malkovich.
Every word, every expression, every movement, of Malkovich here is 100% absolute perfection as an Actor.
As a mormon I can confirm he has a drinking problem
everyone in this comment section has a drinking problem next to you.

@Csaba H. With all due respect what the *Fuck* are you talking about?
@@ratman202 You have a drinking problem.
No one is funnier pissed off than Malkovich
This introduction scene made me laugh a lot regarding Osborne's drinking problem.
John Malcovich's acting is really good here. He's awesome.
That's the reason I saw this movie again.
Classic scene. Everytime Mormon is heard by me this pops up in my head
The scene on its own is easy to appreciate, but it gets so much more appreciable as the movie goes on because: 1. As others have said, Ozzie is almost never NOT drinking throughout the entire rest of the movie. 2. It becomes clear Olson does surveillance, so it's understandable Ozzie would be kind of startled him being there. 3. After a clearly long career of being an analyst and thinking he does "great fucking work", his clearance level is a whopping "3, no biggie". Dude clearly was not doing great work, lol. 4. If you put two and two together at the end, you realize it's Olson that shot Ozzie.
This movie is a hidden masterpiece.
John Malkovich is such a great actor. He was very good in Being john Malkovich.
Yeah i think he was the perfect fit for the role honestly.
It's the role he was born to play.
That look on the guy's face after Cox left. Priceless
Btw, the "we're having the discussion now" argument was absolute horseshit, because in a discussion, he would've gotten at least SOME sort of defense, but they're just telling him what's already been decided. So all the power to Malkovich being mad, there
… you have a drinking problem
@@jqyhlmnp Fuck you peck, you're a Mormon. Next to you, we all having a drinking problem.
That eyebrow raise at the end by Olson, just perfect to round the scene off.

This is what I thought of when my boss took me off of an important project and there was no previous discussion. My boss took me off the project in an email. My boss said that certain people didn't want me involved. I know who those certain people are, but there are still others I don't know yet. He said I wasn't important to this project. I'm back on the project thanks to my mechanical department's boss, but not the operations manager who is the head of the organization.
Damn, that’s crazy.
But who asked?
@@KarnivorActual you're gonna delete this now
Something I love about the writing is how abundantly people swear when they’re upset or frustrated. Idk how else to put it, but it feels really realistic in a goofy way.
A part of John Malkovich lives inside me. He’s an actual part of my personality that people do not expect to come out when backed into a corner. Lol
Every single day at work I think of this scene even though I’ve been sober a long time now.

Hilarious scene, John Malkovich is superb in every role he plays. Does anyone know him as Grigor, the Russian oligarch on Showtime's series Billions?
Cut short, next scene is him being alcohol at the store.
lol being alcohol.
"I am the liquor" - The late Mr. Jim Lahey
I believe the next scene is him cracking an ice tray in his kitchen, pouring a drink while saying “just for starters…”
Remember this guy in SledgeHammer (80s tv series)
sledge hammer as homer.
I just noticed a continuity error. When the camera is behind Malkovich, the desk chair is in front of him. When the camera is aimed from Palmer's pov, the chair is behind.
That's not a continuity error, dude. Osborne Cox is a teleporter. You must have missed that in his backstory.
@@dannynysus who could've missed that??
Oh thanks, I would've never noticed that because I was distracted by the AMAZING ACTING
Palmer's "uuh" "um" is comedy gold for me
With the last interview Tim Burton gave regarding Batman Forever about his dark side being replaced by the colorful side and nipples of Batman's costume, I see this scene as I come to imagine Tim Burton's proposal and response where he confronted the producers (who were Bob Daly and Terry Semel) when they turned down his offer to make a third Batman movie in the same vein as Batman Returns and wanted to take on Joel Schumacher to make the movie more family-friendly, and Tim Burton who eventually told them to fuck off because the producers are angry with him for being too dark and weird with Batman who is himself dark ^^
I even imagine the small cast of this moment via this scene for fun:
Tim Burton as Osbourne Cox
Bob Daly (WB producer) as Palmer Smith
Terry Semel (WB producer) as Peck
Joel Schumacher as Olson
Funny this is, despite Peck being a Mormon, they were right about his drinking problem.
As this is opening scene of film and it follows straight chronology there is no concrete evidence of Ozzy Cox having a drinking problem. He certainly has drinking problem later in the film, but on this moment it is actually unknown to viewer. He certainly ain't liked person on his workplace and as he seems to be somewhat-aware of things happening instead of everybody elses not-at-all-aware of things happening it is understandable.
@@vksasdgaming9472 I think the implication is Ozzy always goes straight for the bottle when stressed. You're right that it's not literally said outright, though
If he only managed to maintain the T-pose for longer, I'm sure they'd reverse their decision.
2:17 that eye shrug at the end always gets me
B.F.R.I.M.H: Best Freaking Rant In Movie History. John Malkovich is such a boss in this 2008 masterpiece.
But seriously, how do you even demote a CIA officer without actually killing him?
Simple, you shove them into a desk job in a room with no windows. They step out to um, "get some sunlight", WHOOSH! Off to prison, no parole, do not pass GO, do not collect $200.
The look on Olsen's face at the end really sells it

What a great piece of acting by Malkovich
I love this movie. I've watched it many times and am a stickler for continuity but never noticed the big mistake in this scene. Cox walks in and stands in front of the chair, then as he's introduced to Olson, the over the shoulder shot shows him behind the chair. Back to the frontal shot and he's back in front of the chair. The devil's in the details, but the Cohen Brothers managed to get away with that one.
his delivery on "this is an assault" KILLS me 😂
Why is olson here?
Did anyone got an answer?
because it's political
I know right! Olson needs to get lost

The very next scene is Ozzy frantically mixing a drink 😂
I love this movie, and this scene is just peachy!
When the boss says: We are having the discussion now. I would say give me my severance and pay me for my holidays. Then just walk out. When he has been paid, come back with blackmail against all three of them and grind them into the concrete.
This gives me life
Speaking as someone that has been laid off, the line "we've having the discussion now" is brilliant. Basically, we had the discussion yesterday afternoon without you and we are now including you... but your input is irrelevant.
