In the realm of reality, these narratives are painstakingly woven over countless hours and days. All in-game clips are culled from both World of Warcraft and World of Warcraft Wrath of The Lich King Classic. - Hry
Hello everyone! We've really delved into the depths on this one, aiming to capture as much of Duskwood's lore as possible. The tale covers a wide range of lore, starting with the origins of the Twilight Grove and the genesis of Duskwood's darkness. Feel free to use the chapters to navigate through different sections if you'd like. Enjoy, and we are glad to be welcoming you back to the library on this Easter Friday! ⚔📚
I used to level through duskwood every fall, around or right before Halloween. It was a tradition like watching Halloween or carving a pumpkin. My time is very limited now days thanks to lots of kids, job, but most of all house and yard work. So it’s been a few years since I leveled through the zone. You gave me the push I needed with this video. I’m gonna to play through duskwood in the next few weeks and maybe even get to 60, that’s unlikely though. I might even do it again in October and restart the tradition. It really does set a nice tone for that season. Good informative video.
I love that
What server are you on?
Great video as usual. Duskwood legitimate was a major tone shift compared to the human zones leading up to it, and was one of my first serious "wow!" moments.
I extend my gratitiude to you my friend! It is truly a special zone! ⚔️
It’s one of the few zones I felt actually benefitted from the changes brought by Cataclysm. Things like adding the Gilneas Worgen into the mix to help investigate the Duskwood Worgen as well as the Mistmantle brothers was great imo.
@@iZehta you're right about that, cause even before Cata when they announced the worgen as playable, people were wondering how the feral worgen would fit into the narrative.
Same, over 10 years ago, but I remember that feeling quite well
I think I’d experienced about 400 “wows” by the time I made it to duskwood lol. I was gushing over this game when I started all those years ago. I remember saying repeatedly, “I have no idea what else you could want in a game.” At that point I didn’t know about mounts or the bank or AH. I didn’t know about crafting professions. I constantly spent all my gold on greys from vendors. Never really occurred to me there would be a tier system lol. Never went to a dungeon or heard of a raid 😂. I thought Dun Morogh was the whole game for at least two weeks. Running through the Tunnels and coming out to Loch Modan for the first time made me damn near cry. Lost my head when I found a whole town there too. 😂 ya by the time I discovered Duskwood I’d been through one excellent surprise after another. All I can remember was complete terror until I found the town and made it to the fireplace at the Inn. Spiders and wolves and werewolves and ghouls. Christ I was terrified lol
Only just found this channel, and fell asleep to this episode last night, woke up during the Wetlands lore LOL. Will definately be spending sometime with this series. So many little odds and ends, gaps filled in for my WoW brain. Great work mate.
Thanks for the comment! Glad you enjoyed the tales, plenty more to come! 📚
The turning of ebonloche was really out of nowhere and really irritated me.
I thought I knew most of the lore but there was so much more beneath the surface, thank you for this excellent video!
I extend my gratitude! 📚
I truly miss Blizz creating zones like this. People act like the new stuff has equal amounts of emotional weight... it doesn't. This is some real storytelling. A real effort. We get nothing to this degree anymore from WoW.
Facts I’ve gone through the new zones many times but none of them stick in my memories like the old ones
Not true. TWW quests easily stand up to these. But you also gotta figure, these are the core of the game, everything else are essentially expansions.
Drustvar is amazing when you really go deep into it. A good example of this exact theme.
Absolutely favorite zone in the game this zone is what hooked to me and kept me playing World of Warcraft in 2007 because I was still playing runescape at the time and I had been playing runescape for quite a while and I wasn't sure if I wanted to quit runescape or keep playing World of Warcraft and then I leveled in duskwood and that was it
I really like your videos on World of Warcraft including the zones within Azeroth being explained through stories, history, and lore around them. Keep up with the Great Lore Videos!
Glad you like them!
This video was fascinating because it explored the rich and dark history of Duskwood, a region in the World of Warcraft that is shrouded in mystery and horror. I learned a lot from this video about the origins of the curse that turned Brightwood into Duskwood, the various threats that plague the land, and the brave people who try to survive and fight back.
Did you know that Duskwood is also home to a secret cult of worgen worshippers called the Wolf Cult? They are followers of Alpha Prime, the original worgen who was once a night elf druid named Ralaar Fangfire. He created the Scythe of Elune, a powerful artifact that can summon worgen from the Emerald Dream. The Wolf Cult seeks to use the Scythe to free their brethren and launch an assault on Darnassus, the capital of the night elves.
Another interesting thing to note is that the Wolf Cult has a connection to the Dark Riders, a group of cursed traders who collect magical artifacts for the corrupted Guardian Medivh. The Dark Riders also pursued the Scythe of Elune, but were thwarted by a coalition of the Night Watch and other adventurers. The Dark Riders are still active in Duskwood, and their leader is none other than Attumen the Huntsman, a boss in the Karazhan raid.
I think these facts add to the discussion because they show how Duskwood is intertwined with many other aspects of the Warcraft lore, and how the Scythe of Elune is a key element in the worgen story. Duskwood is not just a spooky place to quest, but a land of ancient secrets and hidden dangers.
Thanks for the awesome video, You always make me want to learn more about the world of Azeroth. Keep up the good work!
Ok chatGPT
@@daxtron2 Okay human
@@daxtron2yeah what the fuck? I was reading that and I was like wtf this sounds AI generated, no human being on CZcams types like that naturally.
@@user-ev5md5sz9xthere’s nothing wrong with using AI to format your thoughts. It’s a very efficient use of one’s time.
Excellent summary! Thanks! King's Honour Friend! ⚔️
I'm an undead horde warlock, playing SoD on Wild Growth server. I often times pop over to Duskwood and try my hand at farming the arcana robe pattern at Yorgen Farmstead. Sometime's I'll get an old quest book from a mob and I cant start the quest. I think duskwood is very reminiscent of tirisfal and silverpine and I just wish I could do the quests there on my undead lol. This at least gives me more understanding and appreciation for Duskwood. Thanks
I kind of want to see the alternate timeline, where Sylvanas and the forsaken aren't turned away by Anduin. The settle in Duskwood and try claiming Deadwind PAss/Karazhan as a capital. Could have had the Darkspear reclaim Zul Gurub from the Gurubashi, the Gnomes reclaim their capital, the Forsaken claim Kara.
Hey! Fantasticly well made and to capture the story of this zone in just 1 video is impressive..Brings back many fond memories to watch it!
Duskwood is one of my personal favourite zones by far and a zone i love comming back to from time to time.
There is one detail i want to add here even if it is a very small one.
There is a herb that only can be found in this zone and (my own theories) are linked to Stalvan. It is called Tiloas tears and is used for a you make for a quest in Stormwind (the outcome will speak for itself if you ever do this quest), im sure it has its properties due to stalvan and his curse.
Best wishes from Sweden!
Mattias, it's great to have you back, my friend! Your insights are much appreciated, and I believe your theories are on point. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, and I look forward to seeing you again soon! ⚔️
Fascinating! Thank you for putting it all together!
My favorite zone along with deadwind pass, westfall and drustvar ❤
just started my loremaster of eastern kingdoms and I am eternally grateful for these videos!
Great to hear! Good luck with your questing 📚
Another amazing video! Made for a good listen while I played Plunderstorm lol
I extend my gratitude! Glad you enjoyed! King's honour friend ⚔️
What a great and hearty story of Sarah Ladimore she went through so much from surviving as a baby to defending the whole zone as an adult. Love it.
¡mil gracias por compartir este video con la comunidad! la calidad de la narración y la investigación que realizaste realmente me hacen sentir como si estuviera en una biblioteca dentro del mundo de warcraft :-)
thanks for the subtitles and for this amazing video, keep up the good work my friend! 🩷
Pretty cool. I never knew the reason for the great tree's till this video.

BloodBorne, the Zone. On a more serious note I miss this level of lore that wow used to have.

Clearly inspired in Ravenloft. I even use the city to show how Barovian villages are to my players
my favorite zone to level through in the game.
Such a good episode!
Thanks! Plenty more to come!
this was awesome
My favorite zone in the game.
Damn this makes me wanna play WoW again
Same, until.I remember the community is like barrens chat... permanently. I'll pass.
This is great very informative good stuff 👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it 📚
This is only fitting to listen to while questing in darkshire :D
I’m glad it aided your journey, I quested through Duskwood on my SoD Hunter about 5 days after releasing this tale, safe to say I overstayed my welcome in that part of Azeroth 😂📚 I was glad to get into the jungles of Stranglethorn that’s for sure
this is excellent!
Thanks my good friend! 📚
@@TheKarazhanLibrary appreciate your channel!!! Absolutely love it, thank you for the efforts to bring it to us.
I like how the worgen looks in the thumbnail, seems more in keeping with their original look and has less of that adorable cutesy factor present in the current models.
P.S. what sorta mic/gear/processing do you happen to use for your audio? It sounds super crisp and cozy.
Thanks for the feedback on the thumbnails - always looking to improve on them!
The audio recording process within the library is a simple one - we use a standard Blue Yeti microphone (has its pros/cons) with the free to use software Audacity. The file is then equalized and prepared for editing, this includes filter equalization, normalization, noise reduction, etc.
The final trick - we open various wardrobes within our tale telling room at the library, the clothes seem to absorb a lot of the echo from the room. Strange...but it helps! 📚📚
@@TheKarazhanLibrary CZcams seems to have deleted my comment in response to this. Tldr: happy to provide feedback. Would assume the part about recording audio in a booth covered in clothing to prevent reverb and provide noise suppression would be someone would do as a first stage rather than after recording.
@@AlexanderKuznetsovAKASergei indeed, you are correct! I can link a video with an audacity preset tutorial (the one I use) if you want 👍🏻
@@TheKarazhanLibrary Sure thing, would be much appreciated. Not too long ago learned to apply a trick where you copy a track, invert it and then put it through a limiter and play with the gain to give off the effect of anti reverb. Can recommend a channel that reviews mics and has a tutorial on reading specifications so as to find the best one for your particular use case. Was gonna ask in the previous comment if ya happened to have a D - iscord but avoided doing so thinking CZcams would just delete the comment again Lmao.
Sorry for the slow reply, that sounds interesting! Whats the channel? Here is the tutorial I follow during my audio recording process: czcams.com/video/Q8piTf-AiZ0/video.html
I have a question.
If that Satyr killed by twins, why we can kill him in Karazhan raid again? He is dead right?
In this scenario, Bloodhoof's presence in the game as a killable character contradicts his established lore status as deceased. This discrepancy could possibly stem from the completion of the Karazhan raid's development predating the release of the comic book that clarifies this narrative. While speculative, it's noteworthy that several characters in the game are depicted as deceased in the lore yet remain killable in gameplay.
My favorite zone
The World Tree in Mount Hyjal was planted and blessed after the sundering of Kalimdor at the end of the War of the Ancients.
Ilidan had stolen five vials of the Well of Eternity before it exploded and poured one vial into a lake in Mt Hyjal, creating a second Well of Eternity. For this he was branded "the Betrayer" and imprisoned for 10000 years, and the Night Elves along with the Aspects decided to turn a bad situation into a good one by planting the Nordrassil there.
Prior to this the Night Elves' power and longevity stemmed from the Arcane Power of the Well of Eternity.
spooky woods
I really appreciate the lore videos, they're very good, but just one thing I wanted to mention are the character popups. When a character appears on screen, and has white text explaining details about them, it can get a bit confusing. Your brain wants to read the text next to the character, as well as listen to what's being said, and it can't do both so I tend to find it distracting. Maybe it'd be better to have the character pop up with a few seconds of silence to let you read the text? Or to maybe cut it out?
Up to you of course, just how it resonated with me.
Thanks for the feedback! We will continue to minitor feedback from the library listeners like yourself! There's certainly pros and cons to the various options:
Cut them out - Video may be less entertaining
Leave seconds of silence - Same as above
Leave them as is - May cause confusion
The one option I have been considering since your comment is potentially aligning the information with the story more so it is more of a visiual aid to what is being said. We will ponder the question within the halls, thanks again 📚
@@TheKarazhanLibrary Many thanks :)

Someone hasn't done feralas emerald nightmare zones ...
There's a wow manga? What??
i think its called world of warcraft: legends. it has like 10 books at least, and quite long. Humble Bundle sold lots of books last year as a digital download
Legends: Volume 1--6, Mage, Shaman, Death Knight, and the Sunwell Trilogy are all Warcraft mangas! The graphic novels/comics (especially Ashbringer) are all very good, too.
Blizzard should change stavins name to "the incel of duskwood"
INCURSION KEKW
I like your videos but I really hate the stupid arrows you put in your thumbnails, there is no need for them AT ALL. An eye-rolling, click-bait trend used by YouTards - get rid of them dude, your content is good and your thumbnail will look better.
I think that in WOW the figure of ten thousand years is so over used that the writers are just lazy or that it just means a really long time. I’ll prefer the latter.
