FINALLY A NON INDIAN VIDEO
***** Salary is too low in India & unemployment is also increasing and we need some side business for better living.
not just phone reviews, everything related with technology
Erick Reyes Salary is too low in India & unemployment is also increasing and we need some side business for better living.
What's wrong with Indians, I mean they're good reviewer.
Earl Portillo Nothing wrong with them, just hard to understand some things.
dat sensor doe.
Always great stuff from you, Mike!
Thanks Dom! And yea, at least this isn't a White Moto X ;)
Yep, that's why I didn't get the white version (and because white phones tend to get dirty)
Rodrigo Ramirez they both get dirty, but its just more visible on the white one :)
Trolling Blade no i have both moto g 2nd gen in white and black the black one looks great because it gives us a feeling of high end phones which it doesnt gives on white piece.............
Mehul Mistry u dont get what i said back there, do u?
It's 5th of February 2024
I actually heard "Moves like jagger" song on the radio just a few minutes ago and suddenly came this to my mind..
This was my first ever smartphone, I was over the moon at the time I got this as a gift from my mother..
This phone + Google play music could stole my heart...
I feel very sorry about kids these days who are born with smartphones on their hands all the time..
And smart phones have gone too far by now but seeing these make my love for those old phones more than the newer ones..❤🥺
Only Mike can get me exited about a budget phone!! Great video my man, as usual.
Thanks so much Larry, too kind! :)
One of my favorite phones. Reminds me of the good old days..
Holy shit best phone i ever bought, sold my useless and expensive iphone 5s for this and a lot of more stuff.
You probably do the best reviews! I like how in depth you go into the phone around m settings and features! I hate when I'm trying to find a review and the videos are all 5 to 8 minutes long and it's basically a review of the phones hardware! I want to see settings how it preforms opening apps how it performs while your using it! Great work! Plus your a Michigan man! I'm from garden city! Keep up the great work!
Phillip Turinsky Thanks Phillip, I appreciate that. This is why the channel was born, I wanted more than I was getting on CZcams at the time and I figured others did as well so I gave it a shot :)
Well you do awesome work brother! Thanks again!!!!
I just got this phone for Christmas! I must say, it's truly an amazing phone!
Is it?
Boomer
This video is so clear Mike!!! The colours are phenomenal! Brilliant!
551 gbs, lol guess I'll never need to put a micro SD in anyways :P
LOL, I must have missed that one big time.
***** yea BIG time XD
Dude, you deserve more subscribers, great work man! Keep it up,
By the way, Mike, my Moto G 2nd Gen - which arrived directly from Motorola today - has a black body and arrived with a white charger and matching non-detachable white cord.
I had this phone in 2014 now 10 years in 2024 I can surely say it was one of the best phone I ever had, now I own iPhone 14 but it can’t match G2
I have a question when I got my phone which is the Motorola g 1st generation, I opened the box and the phone was there but on the bottom of the phone inside of the back case there was a white tab and I pulled it but I was wondering what it was for??
Thanks for the clear review. Not everybody needs, or can afford a $500+ phone.
Just thought I'd give my impressions on this phone. My LG G2 suddenly started restarting itself constantly and I wasn't up for an upgrade so I needed something until next June. Picked up the Moto G 2nd gen from Best Buy. Here are my impressions:
This phone will handle a few screens with various weather, Google Keep, and assorted widgets. The phone works fine with these multiple screens.
In addition, I've installed all the major social networking apps, media players like youtube & netflix, Quickoffice, banking apps, etc. It works just fine with these apps. One quirk I did find that when hitting the home button and if you only have one home screen, it tries to jump to a phantom second screen. This lag issue went away when I added a second screen for my widgets. All in all, I'm very happy for the phone I got with the money I paid. It will handle all my work duties, driving uber, and social media just fine. It's not a super high end phone but it WILL do all the basics we've become accustomed to readily and without complaint.
Reminds me of my childhood using 11r now came a long way
Just want to say I love how descriptive you are! It helps and I always like to see your reviews. Keep up great work!
i might be getting this phone in christmas, i am definatly getting it i don't really know yet, it might be before. i can't wait:-)
how do you change the default storage settings on marshmallow from phone storage to SD card?
I made the switch from iOS to Android this year (2015), and I am glad I did..... But when I had started to look at phones I noticed two things, 1) They were a little spendy, and 2) they felt like they were very complicated. One of the nice things about iOS is it's simplicity, but that is also its biggest draw back..... So while I was doing research and watching videos on different phones I found this phone. The Moto G 2nd gen. It was literally perfect, not overly complicated, but not tied down like an iPhone..... So knowing I needed a SIM card, I went to my carrier to get a SIM card which they just gave me. they added all my account info to it and made it active. Once the Moto G 2nd gen arrived from Amazon ($159.99 shipped) I installed the SIM card, powered up the phone and let it do it's thing. Then I used an app called "Smart Switch" to transfere all my contacts, videos, pics, and non iTunes music over to my new Moto G from my iPhone. The whole process took about an hour. Now, let me tell you, this Moto G may be a "budget" phone, but it kicks the iPhone in the teeth! And now my wife, she too has seen the light and ditched her iPhone for this phone. I bought the black version, she bought the white version. If anyone out there is thinking about making the switch from iOS and Android phones like the Samsung Galaxy line or the Note 3/4, HTC's, or LG phones seem too expensive or overly complicated or intimidating, or just seem like they are just too much and you will never use all the phones capability, just buy this phone from Amazon, and do what I did. I LOVE THIS PHONE!
Also I'm excited to see your don't xperia z3 review and your moto x 2014 review! I'm debating between the z3 the moto x and the nexus 6 when it comes! So I'm waiting for that nexus 6 to do drop and then I'll make my decision, of course after I watch your review!
Phillip Turinsky I have so much to review, it's insane. The Note 4 is also somewhere in the pipeline for me, depends on when I can get one.
***** Note Edge, Z3 compact, Nexus 6, HTC Volantis (Nexus 9?), and an Ara phone, if the two latter gets released soon.
Nexus 6.
Mike is the best tech reviewer in CZcams!!!
Hi, Mike- Do you happen to know if either this phone or the Moto X allow screen mirroring to a smart tv? And, also, are either phones compatible for downloading the VUDU App from Google Play store? Thx! Jeff
I'm thinking of buying this phone but is there any way u can click a classic iphone like camera button instead of simply clicking the screen
Thanks Mike for another wonderful review, for the money, it is a home run , I was blown away by the video you took with the phone, it looked very nice. Thanks again for posting the video.
Just ordered a global gsm model as that's all that was in stock, I steer clear of t mobile which may be a problematic being that it's not LTE. I have the current moto g and love it. Personally though the increase screen size is right up my alley. Perfect phone for me, plus getting a guaranteed update to android L is awesome.
Hi there, I just purchased one of these phones and in the box it had a wall charger with detachable USB cable plus a set of ear bud type ear phones, so maybe they spec them slightly different for different countries? I'm from NZ.
No the black version does not get a black charger. Also i wanted everyone to know that this is the best phone for money. I am originally a fan of Samsung but when I saw its great features and super low price I bought this. Honestly this phone gives you almost all important feature on those other expensive phones. Of course you may not get flexible screen or touch wiz etc but honestly who uses them that much. And its extremely comfortable in the hand for me. Also ever since the new system update this phone looks like a phone ready for this generation. Battery life is awesome but could be improved. And as for camera you won't have any problem using it. It has a simple wheel turn setting and with HDR the photos are awesome. So much better than buying a Samsung s3 mini for the same price.
Hi, Which phone should I prefer. Moto G(2nd gen) or Redmi 1S, considering Redmi 1s is half the price of Moto G2, but i dont trust the brand. Help please
I have the g4 plus. may sound weird but I switched from an lgg4 but it was bootlooping. I temporarily fixed it but I didn't know how long it would last. so I switched
Moto G 2nd gen or Moto E 2nd gen?I cant decide!I love Moto g but the two stereo speaker looks disturbing...Moto E got lollipop update but the camera and screen is bad...
I have the black one, and mine came just with a white USB cable no power brick but it has dual sim, also in black the sensors under the speaker are well hidden
My first smartphone❤ 2016
On 3/1/2016, I just got the official Marshmallow OTA update. Sweet!
Excellent review. Thanks a lot for taking the time to do this. I think I'll get this phone.
Eurgh. I better pick up a Moto G LTE or GPE before this thing takes up my valuable time. I'll order one for Christmas.
Great review Mike, You really covered all the main stuff that everyone needs to know. Awesome job!
Can you please do a video on a bamboo white 2014 Moto X ?
I'd love to...but I already have this black one. I'm not a fan of the white bezel on the Moto X, although that would have made a good video too.
Does the new Moto X review and unboxing will be coming soon? And I thought it wasn't teuw stereo, because the upper speaker was just for phone calls, so it only has on speaker used for the other studf at the bottom.
yeah the phone cpu or gpu held it back as
the camera uses a sony IMX179 same one in a 28nzd V3 4k Wifi
action camera i got of tomtop i read on some website back when i got the
camera 3years ago that the sony IMX179 can only do 2.7k video max at 30fps and 720p 60fps/120fps so the 4k is just upscaled
I know you review a lot of phones but still, you've got to savor the peeling off of the plastic you can't just yank it off like that!
Hi I just got my moto g 2nd gen white. When I use the phone in night I can see screen light from the sides of the phone. Do you see that too or not. Plz respond
Mike u do the best revious, only u really help people with their decisions, keep it up!
I feel like Motorola dropped the ball with the Moto X. Why does their budget smartphone have better sound than their flagship? Stereo sound on the new Moto X would have made the phone a much easier recommendation.
Excellent video again! Been watching all your videos. But can you review the ace 3? I know is late and there's a ace 4. I will appreciate it alot! Thanks!
You have an ability for good reviews and a good taste in music (since you liked one of my favorite Metallica songs in this review)
Keep up the good work!
This is a slick little device. Def worth the money.
3:52
551 Gigs. Portable hard-drive much.
5.51 5gb
***** stop hatin cuh
Apparently the latest update available for this installs the Google Now Launcher, which allows you to say "Ok Google" on the home screen.
On 7:32, You said that you couldn't use the Ok google voice command on the Home Screen. I just wanted to inform you that you can simply load the Google app and go to the setting, while look through the setting you should be able to find it. But other than that great review!!!
Great video, I'm thinking on buying a Moto G for my next phone.
Hey mike, your video quality is bright and your review is awesome. But can you start reviewing other brands like xiaomi, huawei?
I still have this phone in 2017!
Hi
I was wondering if you can help in with miracst or screen cast for the moto g gen 2. The option is in display section of the settings, but it remains inactive. Can you please show me how to get it back on my phone? When I searched on net says it needs to be booted. If so can you please show me how it's done in a step by step process....
GREAT fast paced yet comprehensive review.
Like always, great video man! I'm considering buying it because of you!
the moto x feature to launch google using "OK google" from any screen or the lock screen is now available on the g.
Thanks to your amazing reviewi am picking one up as my work phone. Keep up the great work.
clear and best review ....seen many reviewing but this is perfect for me
3:50 - Total space 551GB? There's definitely a decimal point in there. I'd pop an annotation there for those not too savvy on storage amounts.
Do you whant to buy the macbook pro retina 13/15 july 2014 model???
"you can also record video, you can pause the recording, resume recording" That must be some new technology hahahaha
How is the battery life compared to the previous Moto G 4G?
If anyone is to buy the Moto G 2014 in the UK, be warned. You will need a spare USB wall charger as it doesn't come with one. I know this because I have one.
At 2016, is this phone still a good buy than the Moto e 2nd Gen or not?I just want a phone that performs good and have a dual camera and can be used a primary device...thanks
Moto E2 has a slightly better SoD (Qualcomm 410 Snapdragon)...The rear camera might be a little better on the E2...Not sure...
Awesome review dude ( as always ), keep up the good work, I might actually get this one because it has everything I need and it is a great phone if it gets lollipop
It gets lollipop
That follow me feature is sick
The best budget phone on the market.... Thumbs up
You probably can't get this generation model from Motorola anymore, but possibly from Amazon (provided supplies last)...That said, I've had mine through three different Android OS versions (K,L,M), and if you're thinking about upgrading to the latter (M), and you opt for the "adoptable storage" (Internal / SD as 1) feature, it is MOST important to use a high speed SD card (80MBps or better), otherwise you WILL have all kinds of operating problems (i.e. slow app behavior, app sputtering, premature app shut-downs, re-boots, and overheating)...I made the mistake of going on with the adoptable option with a slow card warning and had the aforementioned problems, in addition to the SD card rendered useless after only a month...Might I suggest any one of the SanDisk Ultra Plus cards? I plugged one in, did a factory reset, and have had no problems since...
I'm enjoying the heck out of this budget phone. I got the black. I'm glad because that sensor would bug me.
what should I get? Moto g 2nd gen (160 euros) or the S4 mini (170 euros) ?
+labros pneymatikos Moto G 2nd gen... way better than S4.
is there any options like MY FILES in this phone??i cant get my stuffs,,
Should i still get this or the Moto E 2015? It has been out for half year.. and the moto E 2015 is still pretty new.
Nice review Mike. I might consider buying this phone even without LTE.
Really helpful review Mike! I have the Moto G (1st Gen.) but the (2nd Gen.) looks better, i may get it. Keep up the good work!
Guess i'll move to Android again from WP8 with this awesome phone. My sister had the Original Moto G and even this one was very nice.. and for $179 (and usually 179€) this Phone will be nice in terms of price too!
im really new to smartphones and since im tight on budget im looking for a good phone without spending too much. i have done little research and came up with few names but dont know which one to choose . HTC one mini, motorola 2nd gen 2014 and sony xperia m2. now which one of these is the winner? or if u have any better choice i would appreciate it thanks
Moto g is better than all them the screen on the m2 is awful....
When he said "okay google", my phone responded and went to google XD
Does it have a removable battery? If not, I'm not interested
So it has 3g? I would also probably think the bottom speaker is a home button since it sticks out so much
I have the black one, and the wall charger is also white.
This is the best review i have ever seen .
Seems like a great phone, I'm thinking of getting it come Christmas, but is there anything that beats it in this price, or slightly higher? Was initially considering iPhone 5c, but the price is just too much for what it is.
Update 2015: Had the Moto for a few weeks, until it began randomly losing signal. Needless to say I returned it, and bought an LG G3 S. It's a similar price and works perfectly
Please come back soon I want a good review of the iPhone 6
I ordered this today, those 2 to 3 days are going to feel like a week
Thijs De Jong Planning to go pick one up today too! My Note II bought the dust and I don't feel like I need a high end phone.
***** wow. same story here...note 2...SDS after 2 years..Fuck. No more high end shit
***** If you do not have that much money to spend, I definately recommend it
love that garden in the video...
Thanks Mike you finally uploaded this video
There is so waterproofing, it says right on the box, for me at least: "Long-life battery and a water resistant coating."
Thanks for this review!
The best review of Moto G2 I've seen
I love the notification led. Does anyone know if the new Moto X has one?
Yea it does have one.
It doesn't have one coz, it has active display...
That's what I was afraid of. I would have loved to have both
It does actually (hidden behind the earpiece). However, you would need to root it to activate it.
Google Voice search is always on, on my phone, so when you said "OK Google" it activated mine, lol.
You can disable that in Google search settings if you want
very nice device for that price tag, very impressed! and as always nice video mike!
I guess this is my favorite android phone out there in the market
Ok Google was honestly better back then, nice that it beeps when you say it which for some reason they remove and add back randomly between updates now
551GB holy crap best budget phone ;)
Does it at least get HSPA+? I saw that Michael's phone has the logo for it.
your yard is beautiful in the fall
Can someone please tell me, whats that fricking black dot under the top speeker?
Can you please do a review over the z3 (Compact) !! Great videos btw!! Keep it up!
