A Short Visit to The East Somerset Railway | Cranmore Station | Wednesday 10th August 2022

A friend of mine was staying down this neck of the woods who I hadn't seen for many years, so it was a chance to pop over to Evercreech, meet up with Brian and have a wee venture out.
The East Somerset Railway is only a few miles away from where Brian and his family were staying, so we decided to pay a short visit, expecting to only see a few people and little going on as the web site stated that todays movements were the Wickham Trolley. A nice surprise in the form of a DMU and GWR steam engine 4555 out and about and this was a quick video of the steam train departing Cranmore station at 11am and also its return from its trip a couple of miles down the track.
It was lovely to see a great crowd there, which we never expected, and plenty of youngsters on the train too. It was also refreshing to see the younger generation on the footplate of the loco too in charge.

Different for me to be honest but a nice trip there albeit only for a short period of time

Just checked. It should have only been around 2 1/2 minutes anyway, so no idea how the last part got there!
