I think those were the happiest owners ever. I don't know how Erin and Ben didn't cry along with her. It's great to see a couple get to have a house with everything they always dreamed of: Joy!

Being invited, sure. Doing the cooking? Nope. That kitchen design is absolutely horrible. The first, and likely only, design fail I have seen on the show.
i'd like to hear your reasoning for you call it a design fail for the kitchen. I have a small kitchen with very little counter space, so i LOVE the design of the kitchen. @@michaeltutty1540

Have you thought about using reinforced glass as the backsplash? - like a long window that doesnt open but lets all the light in : )
They do this in Australia and it looks great and functions perfectly.

Love this duo but two things they do that surprise me - remove windows in the kitchen and enter into the dining room. I notice theres a side door from the porch direct to the living room here so you don't have to enter the dining area directly but its still weird and strange. Love the Italian influences and the wooden island bench is beautiful.
@DiamondBodyMedia It's pretty common in the South for people to enter into the dining room. The dining room also gets used quite often.

Really nice . Ben and Erin always do a great job , I love all the things Ben makes . Are these homes Staged or is everything included in the price ???? With tv shows you never know .
Most, if not all, of the furniture is either custom made by Ben for the house or it is what the people already own.
It's my understanding that what Ben doesn't make is provided by local merchants and is available to the homeowners at discounted prices.The furniture is not part of the purchase and renovation costs.
@@andrewwadagethat's also what I've heard. Most of the furniture & decor in HGTV shows are just for staging. Sometimes they use the client's own stuff like desks, artwork, etc. The clients can buy the furniture & decor if they wish to. I've heard that for this show they get furniture from Erin's shop, so someone said it's double dipping. 🤷♂️

I agree. They could've saved it and repurposed. I don't like it when these reno shows destroy cabinets which are still good. They could've been donated or sold as 2nd hand.

No, most of the furniture & decor are just for staging. Sometimes they use the client's stuff like old desks, clothes, artwork, etc. The custom pieces made by Ben, they get to keep (although someone said otherwise, so I dunno). The clients can opt to buy the furniture if they want to.

It's a great job but it looks more old West to me than Italian. As always, I don't like the way she traps the refrigerator in all these homes, and now she's done the same to the washer/dryer. They're stuck with only that amount of space for a replacement. Terribly short-sighted.
I wish instead when they demo. They would save the cabinets and counters for poor people to use..m aybe free warehouse to pay low fee......

I most always love watching this renovation show. This one seemed to be phoned in from the 90’s. And then, adding insult to injury, I had to turn off the volume. The client was waaaaay too much. I mean, get a grip - and give Ben and Erin a chance to speak! - I’m sorry to disagree with you’ all; I cannot watch a grown woman blubber and whine like an undisciplined toddler.
Change the channel. Easy fix. I’m sure that show will go on without you.

This is the first time I have seriously disliked a design by Erin. Walking in the front door and being in the dining room is a big no thanks. Easy to rectify with furniture. The BIG dislike is that kitchen. It would be exhausting to work in. Fridge, range, and sink all in one long bank of cabinets? You would walk miles trying to cook a big, multi-course meal for a group. Christmas would be a nightmare. Just terrible.
Walking into dining rooms from a foyer is pretty common.
While the colorway is not to my taste I think the kitchen would be fine. Mine is set up in a similar way and it's a dream.
