"There is an indescribable calm that comes with the methodical loading ritual of these fine firearms... ....a meditative, zen like state is achieved when interacting with these finely fashioned pieces of steel and wood. ... Traditional muzzleloading is a vacation from the norm a reprieve from modern chaos."
Yes!!!!!
Today I told to my friend while showing to him your video, that with modern rifles you shoot, while with muzzleloader yo're making love.
Thank you for wonderfull recorded moments.
I like seeing shooters using buffalo powder horns-much more appropriate for Montana!
Same here!
Beautiful rifles!
One of those guns is beautiful. After reading about the maker I can see it would impossible to get him to make one for me. I imagine he has years of orders yet to fill!
Boss stuff right there! Well produced video.
+Iron Clad Legion thanks man
Denny Ducet No worries, brother.
One more question, whose music is it, could I ask for the author and / or titles? In subsequent films also beautiful!
Thanks for uploading this.

Where can I find this amazing music that is playing behind??
How strong are these things?
Super
Very nice flintlocks, thanks for sharing.
Most welcome. Thanks for viewing!
I have been watching your channel recently. I am thinking of trying to get a TMV Tennessee rifle. Of all firearms I shoot, muzzleloaders are the greatest fun.
Funny you should say that, it's the same for me. I have modern rifles and i enjoy them but it's way more fun for me shooting a traditional muzzleloader. You will enjoy the TVM, well worth the wait.
Friend of mine is in the AMM and is convincing me to go the route of the Late Lancaster now. We'll see. I love them. I am actually parting with an AR to fund this, I never thought I would say that.
Yup, it's addictive. I really like my TVM Late Lancaster, if you go that route you will be very happy. UPS is actually delivering a TVM Early Virginia (in steel) today so i'm looking forward to that one. Next down the road for me will be a fowler.
Hello, is this group of shooters associated in some organization of black powder shooting ?
This is the Flathead Valley Muzzleloaders, based out of Kalispell, Montana. There are probably more gun builders per capita here than anywhere else in the states. www.flatheadvalleymuzzleloaders.com/
Never seen a beavertail dag used as a patch knife before, but it seems to work,.
He made that dag himself out of an old chainsaw bar cut and ground etc. beautiful knife of good steel too. That knife made me desire a Northern plains dag, beaver tail dag, trade dagger (pick the name) really bad. They’re a lovely period blade.
Guy at 2:21 does what you don't want to do with a flintlock. You can see him close his eye or "flinch" just as he commits to pulling the trigger.
People do that with modern guns too all the time. Flinching is bad no matter what you shoot.
Whats with the funny ram rod action.
I would love to own a black powder flintlock
Get one!

Is this a custom gun?
Yes hand built. There is a video on this English gun here.
Rightly enjoyed watching that ... only thing I cringed a bit about was seeing you prime that pan from the horn. A lingering coal from the previous shot can make those things go boom!
Thank you for the comment. He does have a good 40+ years doing this and I am sure he is aware of the risk. Something to consider I guess. He is a vowed traditional and period correct muzzle loader.

Considering most of us here blow down the barrel to extinguish sparks, not much danger of that. Especially since another charge has been loaded and rammed home by the time you prime!
Duly noted ... still not something I'd risk myself
