- The Tabernacle Choir, Orchestra at Temple Square, and special guest Stanford Olsen perform "Bless This House" by May H. Brahe and arranged by Sam Cardon.
Episode 4393. November 24, 2013 - Hudba
I am currently 67 years old and can remember being a young teenager listening to my dad and his three brothers singing this whenever we all got together.
Mr. Olsen has one of those incredibly rare, perfect tenor voices that transfix the listener. I don’t know how many times I’ve listened to this rendition and still get goosebumps. Magnificent.
I am no Stanford Olsen, but I have have lost count how often that I have rudely sang along with him on this song. Just can't help myself, at 68, I still have the high notes, perhaps thanks to Mr. Olsen.
I wish this hymn would be in our LDS Hymnal - I would love that we would include it in our meetings at Thanksgiving/ Christmas time
I love this song❤️❤️
Beautiful voice, thrilling top notes, excellent projection and diction combined with ample power. The man can SING@@
'Bless this house', should be on the lips of all God's children as they love our Lord and hope that he sends us all his blessings on both ourselves aswell as the place where we live.

The World could use more people like Mr. Olsen. Also we need to have a Christian music channel.
Stanford Olsen has always been a man I admired for his girth. When it comes to singing there is little that can match a well built soprano or tenor. And it's no easy feat, you should know, keeping well fed and in tip top singing shape. A man line Stanford has to keep at it every day, to maintain that significant size. You really have to admire the exceptional effort and self control that he exerts over maintaining that rotund and throaty sound. I can only hope that others will follow in his footsteps in the future, and bring some good ole' american singing power to the world stage. Too often we find our "pop stars" representing us with a song and a dance, where the movement and visual spectacle has clearly been sought at the expense of pure sound and power. That's where Stanford and his ilk, stars like Montserrat Caballé, come into their own. Many have attempted to mimic that level of American power and confidence, but few have succeeded. I for one can only hope that Professor Olson can maintain his size, his thickness, his true power, well into his senior ages. I'll be thinking of him as I knock back some ribs this night.
brilliant all round
Smashing!
Wow! He’s an American Pavarotti.
