I came back to Scotland after 22 years Army and contract service. I believed the people of Scotland that I remembered, would not put up with this kind of nonsense. It seems UK is waiting for the old veterans like me to protect them for ever, who got nothing but criticism for their service. Time for the young to take responsibility and grow some.

To be honest in Scotland it's been a historic problem. maybe lts an inferiority complex so this is seen by some as losing power. Let's face it Scotland isn't the most forward thinking part of the uk.

This was voted through with a big majority by a Scottish parliament elected by the Scottish people. One man may have pushed it but a substantial number of your representatives approved it. Scotland has grabbed nationalism by the tail and you can hardly complain and say it is nothing to do with you when it turns on its own and bites, as nationalist fervour always has done throughout history. No it's not. It was recommended to the SNP by Lord Bracadale, a retired judge because the previous hate crime laws didn't give courts enough scope to prosecute a hate crime.
