- In the first hidden gem, go with us into Dear Mr. Fantasy, one of the best all-around books written on the subject of card magic. The plots are sophisticated, and the methods are sublime.
If you don't know Dave's Game, you need to watch this clip to discover this wonderful trick. As John Bannon says in the book, the "pain to glory" ratio is great for this card trick.

Super cool
Thanks, Jerry!
Excellent effect! I recently bought the book, but haven't read it yet - as probably a lot of magicians do/have done. I have a question (if you have answered it before, refer me to your answer): printed books vs ebook/pdf. I find myself buying books more & more. Yes, book prices are going up -along with everything else - but I find that I like having certain books in hard/soft cover. What is your opinion on this? (Side note: the late Stan Lee was asked about digital vs printed comics. He said "Comics are like boobs; digital is nice, but you like to hold one in your hands every now and then." Keep up the good works! Also waiting on your 5th foot of Anneman's shelf.
I'm a fan of physical books, but a PDF beats not being able to absorb the content at all! There's something about occupying the same physical space as a tangible object that can't be replaced. Of course, that's just my opinion... 🤷♂️
Dang I cant seem to find this one anywhere and John no longer offers it on his site.
😕 I heard through the grapevine that Squash Publishing may be reprinting this one in the future...🤞
Just got the book. 🎉 I did dead reckoning and people were amazed.
What's your favorite??
Beyond Fabulous!
