    Hey man, I actually have your car. Let me just say thank you for all the hard work y'all did, super clean. Looks and drives amazing too. My first turbo and manual car I've ever owned with this much power. Nervous as hell driving 2-3 days from El Paso Tx to South Florida but made it strong. Top priority currently is trying not to drive it until I save enough to keep up for any future maintenance and to find a tuner mechanic that would know this car well. Thanks again and keep posting. These videos are really helping me understand the car!

      That is good to hear. I am glad the car is in good hands. Beside the engine work it is sitting on some very good suspension (BC Coilovers and Polyurethane bushings). I drove the car and loved it. If you ever need a copy of the tune file, let me know (I am a digital hoarder).

    Subscribed my dude... Thank you for the info because I am about to swap an st246 into a 2003 Toyota Matrix. It should be an interesting undertaking and for now I plan on doing a stock rebuild because college budget. Coolest thing is that all but the passenger side engine mounts bolt up exactly the same so it's literally a bolt in swap. I can also use the AWD components from both my Matrix and the AWD transmission from the Caldina to have this same setup and still maintain the AWD. I love Toyotas, they're like Legos.

    What did you end up doing with the power steering pump air control valve?

    Would you recommend a Gen3 or Gen4 3S-GTE? I'm looking to buy a generic ST202 Celica and swap the engine, and I read that doing the Gen3 is technically easier but you need a "clip" (whatever that is...?) whereas the Gen4 is technically better due to it being newer.

    • @r.a.w.performance6602
      @r.a.w.performance6602  Před 4 lety +2

      I would recommend a gen4. The motor drops in, it is coil on plug ignition (no distributor), and if you send the wiring out, it becomes plug n play.

      @@LooseHangNail I apologize if I angered you in anyway, that was not my point. Going back through all the comments, I did find your question from 5 days ago. I am fairly new to this CZcams thing and did no expect to receive the number of questions/comments I did so quickly especially after not making any new content for over a year. To answer your question, if you are using the stock 4th gen 3sgte ECU or a standalone you will have to send the harnesses (5sfe and 3sgte) out in both cases (Wiregap's website gives a good explanation). The wiring job being done will make the stock ECU plug-n-play but if you are going aftermarket you will need to do some additional wiring depending on the type of standalone. If you are using a 3rd gen 3sgte then I believe getting it to work in a Celica is much easier without having to send it out. As far as intercooler, you can use the stock top mount intercooler that comes with the 3sgte but it is not recommended. The Caldina hood is set up with a duct to force the air into the intercooler unlike the Celica. I hope this helps.
