    Attacking in recovery is somehow problematic because opponents may be ready for that and counterattack. I defeated a much better fencer because he always try to attack when I recover form my foot hit. I counterattack and caught him in midair.

      For every poison in fencing there is an antidote. Perhaps good job on you for anticipating his attack and you used a toe hit attempt almost like a deep feint. Another way to look at it is that your opponent when attacking in your recovery didn't close out an opposition/blade-take. (Assuming you scored on a counter attack as you were recovering)
      There are only 4 situations in which a hit can occur: 1.blatant attack 2. Blatant defense 3. Attack on preparation 4. Attack in recovery
      Arguably 5th, is close quarters but its arguable lol

      Feint up and touch foot and practice. Experiment different feints and touches on foot
