Love from india sir❤
Thanks a lot! I’ve been fencing for only 9 months and this helped me see how I should play against very aggressive people who fleche and push up against me. When you mean stepping through their blade, do you mean stepping forward on the enemies beat so I can force them to have to recover and make an opening?
I am from brazil. Very good videos
I feel very defensive when fencing because I feel like I’ll always be parried and blocked so this was very helpful! I have my first competition in a month and feel kind of lost so I’m very glad I found this channel to give me more lessons!
😮
I can do
I am from India I want to copy your video and translate in hindi and apload
Funny dialogue
I need a teacher like you
thank you :) hope to run into you one day
😢
Scared..while training with coach they are scared
I have a duel Tomorrow. Wish me luck
Good luck 🤞🍀
Useful video. Thx! Don't you think such actions (like 2nd and 3rd intention) are too complicated for beginners? Maybe it's better to put more efforts in simple actions in this stage of education? Like direct attacks in one tempo, basic parries etc.
The moving camera is super helpful!!😆
Fire the camera man
Love the variety of the dummies. Might recommend wearing a mask for less experienced fencers (especially for leg and foot touches) Thank you for all your videos.
💯 at my club it's mandatory
Thank you for sharing!
Amazing video. Helps a lot and thank you so much❤
Nice video 👍 Doesn't it better to make half-step back before attack? When you make half-step forward, opponent, especially novice, instinctively often makes step back. So lunge should be really fast and long to reach goal. And it's not so easy to make good lunge from this position because your legs stand wide.
You're 100% right! But in my experience when I taught beginners like that in the past they tended to step back with a bent arm and then attack with a bent(or late) arm. So now I choose to teach a beginner this way. Again in my experience this tends to have them attack with straighter arm.
@@HowtoFencingbyYarikandTimthx for answering. I'm beginning trainer myself, so I'll keep this advice in mind.
Thanks for sharing this! I’m a long time foil and sabre coach trying to figure out teaching epee. This type of beginner lesson is very helpful!
Glad it was helpful! ☺️
this is a really good one
Great drill 👍 Could you please make a video about creating the distance? In my opinion creating the distance is the most difficult part in fencing.
Great lesson. Does it make sense to counter attack with opposition in this scenarios or it's better to win some extra distance and just put it straight? Thanks for new video
If you CAN'T get out then opposition into the body would be a good option But if you CAN get out then you'll never get hit. In this lesson we worked on getting out on purpose
I am so glad this channel is now active again!
I'll try to be more active, was busy opening a club of my own ;)
is this epee or foil? sry i am new to fencing! Love this chanel i can learn so much!
It's epee.
Thank you, hope it helps ☺️
those are not squats but we'll continue
Ahhhh was not the finest hour...
Great French grip lesson and hot art work 🔥
Thank you!!!! ☺️
If this is the only video I ever watched from your channel then it would still be worth the like and subscribe! The combination of your accent with your attitude for me is a hilarious 10 all day long.
Thanks! Well you know it's like learning a new language...for some reason we first remember funny words and cuss words. I was just making sure that my information was sticking to her 😅

She understood the assignment 😅
Hey welcome back!
Thank YOU 😊😊
Hooray! Your a great coach. Your lessons have changed my fencing. Thanks ✊🏻
@@Bridgeman13❤❤❤ super happy it's helping
The best. Very clear explanations and demo. Thank tou
You are welcome! 🤗
Thank you for this video
As shorter person, should a person be using french grip instead ?
To be honest the the grip choice is not as important as how you use it. With a French grip you'll need emphasize more of attack on recovery with a feint and disengage. While with pistol you'd still focus on attack in recovery but with second intention blade-take attack (ie. 8/6 or 6/4 etc)
U have to redo those 'masked' videos.
This is great class, thank you for teaching me the best timeing to attack
Please , make more videos. Its so helpfully

great ideas -- yet I wish you could repeat the first half of the video since it was obscured by another coach's lesson. Couldn't really see what was you were doing. But thanks for posting.
Can adults still learn this cool sport!
Of course! My oldest student is 75 :)))
@@HowtoFencingbyYarikandTim ah. I may have to connect with Tim on this!

The first lesson i took they tried teaching us this, except everyone just pulled their blades back as soon as you tried to parry
thats when it's ideal to lunge, or just attack in some form, because they will have a shorter reach than you
Great toe hits that little one!
Ah the money i had to pay to get those lessons which are now free on youtube. Bloody lucky kids!
Love this channel, hope to see a return of videos sometime, love from Ireland
i need tips about parrying. When I engaged and successfully parried and got his blade and when i do my attack my arm is too stiff and misses my opponent. My coach told me i need to rely on my parry’s cuz i only do it for blocking. I started with french grip but my sword broke in half so i changed to pistol.
With disengage too
Hello, I really need your help! I have been told my fencing style is always attacks, right when the bout begins I attack way to fast and I have a long deep lunge and I get parry reposted. When I feint my opponent is not getting fooled at all and is counter attacking me every time I feint, my opponents I practice with show no reaction at all and when I disengage they parry reposte me or counter. I was told I kept on repeating the same thing, I was told I am very predictable!
Please come back your content is great
