    • @incendas

One brazil nut also contains more than your daily recommended selenium intake (60-75μg), and eating a lot can cause selenosis or selenium toxicity. 350μg is the upper recommended limit according to the NHS and one brazil nut can have around 90μg. @@sgt.briskee9313
Where do you get the audacity? Calling them “lazy”?!? When YOU’RE in the wrong. Wow.
The whole premise of the argument is wack.
Fat is a nutrient. Carbohydrates are nutrients.
A liver probably has some of the most minerals and a nice wide variety of minerals compared to any other meat but it’s not any more “nutrient dense” than a cube of fat for example.
      Because fat IS a nutrient.
The concept of “nutrient density” is inherently flawed because it arbitrarily labels some nutrients (carbs and fats) as “bad” and some (minerals and protein) as “good” when in reality you need all the nutrients including carbs and fats in order to live.
The densest human tissue is cortical bone. Densely packed with minerals and protein collagen and I think it’s almost an order of magnitude denser than liver. By your metric that’s the most nutrient dense food out there because it’s the physically densest with the lowest number of carbs and fats.
You go ahead and try to live off of powdered bone meal and I would love to watch what happens☠️
The Dunning-Kruger effect is in full force with you bud. Rip.

It's obvious the video creator had a definition of nutrient-dense in mind, as did everyone else in the comments. Here, we are judging nutrient density by both the variety and amount according to RDI in each macro and MICRO nutrient. Protein, fat, and carbs are considered macronutrients, while the rest of our essential vitamins are considered micronutrients. I seriously don't know why you went full Reddit on me. Raw Pork Liver has everything you ever need nutrient wise.
Pork literally has the highest index of proteins that your body needs at 100% of the proteins you need, now pork liver has all the fats you need and minerals and vitamins as well, including Vitamin C, and Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids. Now I know it isn't the most appetizing food, but if we're talking about the only food source you'd ever need it's that.

Important to remember that "nutrient dense" doesn't mean "nutrient accessible", some food can't be efficiently digested by our bodies and we don't get all the nutrients out of it before we pass it.
Don't know if that's true for any of these specific foods, but a fun fact for one of them is that Brazil Nuts are slightly radioactive, and eating too many can cause radiation sickness (but it takes a lot).

Lots of various articles and items that show citrus having a higher nutrient density (in all vitamins) than strawberries as well. Random google searches - no clue how accurate it is. Did talk to my doc and they also said typically citrus is the higher nutrient density taking all in account weight for weight.
