My SALVAGE Nissan Nismo RS Gets 400+hp Upgrade!

- Well, it was just a matter of time. We rebuilt this Nissan Juke Nismo RS barely more than a month ago. The guys down at 2J Racing have a 400+ HP package that was just too good to resist. The Juke lends itself to making this type of power pretty easily actually. Turbo, intake, exhaust, intercooler and supporting mods. With some higher octane fuel and a tune, the little 1.6L can crank out almost triple its factory horsepower rating to the wheels!
As with almost any project, there were a couple snags along the way. Both with the physical wrenching on the car, but also the time frame and logistics. With a trip already planned down to the Tail of the Dragon in North Carolina. We had to capitalize on the drive that would put us 3/4 of the way to Atlanta where 2J racing is based out of. Come join us on the twist and turns and putting together one of the highest horsepower Nismo RS Juke's in the country!
Should be picking this thing up just in time for Racemotive @ Pocono raceway on Sunday October 9th!

It comes with experience. Plenty of time and mistakes made on past projects lol
It's mostly just Bolt On's but without a shop and a lift it's a pain in the ass..
It's way more satisfying than it should be watching you guys huck chunks of metal into the dumpster. I don't even know why 🤣

This thing is so awesome. I'm telling you right now, no one gets there feelings hurt losing to a ZR1, crazy modded 911, Tesla, twin turbo r8 cart, or any one of those fancy cars. You get smoked by a Juke!?! That's a bad day man. So excited to see this thing built, great video!

I just bought a Sentra NISMO as a daily and I bought my wife a Juke NISMO years ago. 6MT (the ONLY way...) all the way around. Hers has over 117,000 miles on it now and is still going strong! Might have to build one of them...or maybe both...lol
I have the juke Nismo and I want the Sentra Nismo so bad and I can’t find one anywhere and I have never seen one in person.
@@jordancherry1714 Took me a couple YEARS to find mine. I was pretty specific though...I wanted a WHITE 2019 with 3 pedals in good shape and I didn't want to pay over 20k. If you're less picky, you can find them relatively easy. There aren't many of them, though. People didn't buy them.

CLUTCH JOB is multiple hours when doing in the car. Especially with one bolt hard to get at.
Think these engine's are in the Clio RS EDC aswell.

I wish we got them with the DCT as opposed to the CVT for the auto option, the auto FWD ones will hold up to 300 whp, the auto AWD ones will only do around 265 whp. The DCTs were cheaper to fix and easier to make power on.
If I had FU money I would have imported so many of the DCT by themselves to the States and work with a Nissan specialist shop to reverse engineer them for potential customers here.
Nissan makes great engines but their choice of transmissions to use with them is sometimes questionable at best

Just the timeframe we were working with. I had about a week of free time with the car up here before I trailered it down to Atlanta. So, I took care of it in that window.
Should of did timing chains tensioner and guides while you were in there

This is basically the same engine for the renault clio rs , its the homologation engine for the Renault clio cup , should be a strong engine. (british touring car championship) (the second hole in manifold is for exhaust regen valve (puts unburnt fuel back through the intake for cooling and economy)

We were keeping it simple. The guys from 2j are going to extend it down to behind the bumper tho. We have a big enough time window for them to accomplish the work.
I think you gonna loose control on the front wheels. To much power on that mechanic slipdifferential and the car is to high for all that power. But I still looking for the end result. You guys are daredevils... cool 🔝👍👌

Hey I have a question. I have the same car. It keeps showing a P0335 code which is the crankshaft sensor. We replace the sensor. Checked the voltage on the sensor circuit and everything. Still won’t start. It cranks but won’t turn over. Any idea of what could be the issue? It’s a 2016

Yes there's a FB group that is very knowledgeable on this, it's basically the same engine as the juke Nismo RS 👍🏼
