Mai, mai, mai ascoltato niente di così meraviglioso! Bravissimi tutti! Da mandare la sera prima del TG per ricordare a tutti cosa sia l'Arte della Musica.
Passeggiando per le calli o andando per i canali a Venezia 300 anni fa, avremmo potuto ascoltare questa musica, proveniente da qualche finestra spalancata sulla laguna. Viva l'Italia che fu.

"Vivaldi era uno di quei compositori meravigliosi che sembrava non restare mai a corto di idee né di strumenti per cui scriverle... Alcuni degli strumenti per cui Vivaldi scrisse questo pezzo praticamente non esistono più, come la tiorba... Poi c'erano due strumenti dette trombe marine, che erano, strano a dirsi, strumenti a corde... Abbiamo poi anche un oboe basso, che sostituisce l'antico salmoè... Il tutto combinato insieme è una specie di accozzaglia di strumenti strani... Ma che suono meraviglioso possono produrre questi ventitrè strumenti! E' musica splendida - dovreste verificarlo di persona."

I was happy and excited to see the two chalumeau players. I was almost in tears at the end of this piece; they all seem to be enjoying their performance. I wish I could be there playing one of the chalumeau parts.

My music teacher in high school played this piece on a record. It was 1968. Was hooked to Vivaldi in the first 15 seconds. .... And I just found it here ... Oh Joy!
