    Think about it this way:
Charlie’s pain is over. Charlie doesn’t have to deal with the trauma either. If Charlie had lived, he would have had to deal with that trauma. Yes, it was tragic. An awful experience. But they tried. Sometimes people fail. But Charlie isn’t in pain anymore. Charlie won’t feel the pain ever again. Charlie won’t have to deal with the fear, anxiety and emotional distress ever again. Charlie’s owners will be okay too. It’s hard to lose a loved one, a family member.
Listen, they made his passing as painless as possible.

Rescue services had to cut a bar out of the window to help the dog. JiaSwan I’m not thinking anything negative about them, I was hoping to point out that calling is a great option. I know people who would not call, assuming that someone already did.
I jumped fences on day to help a sheep caught in a fence by its neck and one leg. Luckily I was with my husband because I would have been there screaming at the top of my lungs for a while holding the sheep up to keep it from strangling itself to death. We’re in construction so our truck always has tools it it. Wire cutters came in handy that day.
Thanks for pointing out the details of the rescue though. I am sure the owners never dreamed something like that was possible.

@@kiimmig2293 glad to hear! The wording felt ambiguous in your original post, so wanted to point out the cut bar.
My foray into animal rescue typically amounts to helping catch neighborhood dogs who get loose, and helping one stray elderly toothless cat (an absolute purr monster) back to his owners after he started claiming my backyard. I am definitely not equipped for any heavy cutting operations and would be calling for help and providing what hydration or support I could until help came.

JiaSwan 😊 Yes I do get matter of factual at times and seem harsh. I don’t do it purposely, more so it’s my inside voice escaping without giving all details of my thinking. This personality trait is great in emergency situations, I act fast, give orders / instructions, figure things out & know who to call if I need anything. But not so much if ya don’t know me, I can come off completely different than what I mean to. Then I have to explain myself, again. Almost 60 years old and my damn inside voice keeps escaping.
