I can't believe I found this channel. This channel makes me want to practice more. I stopped practicing because everyone made fun of me for playing the French Horn (mostly the other brass instruments).
I'm so sorry that people are making fun of you. That's terrible. You have a place here to be yourself and enjoy playing the French Horn.

Thank y'all for saying those things. I know I shouldn't care, because I love playing the French Horn. But for some reason it got to me last year. Now I have to spend this summer making up when I didn't practice so I can go back to band next year!

Hearing someone mention a French horn makes me happy because thee is knit 3 of us in the high school band (4 all together one moved to a different hour)
I play trumpet, and don’t get me wrong I LOVE playing it, but I want a French horn soooo bad. Before we left school because of COVID I would play my friends after rehearsal everyday and honestly thought about switching lol

I played trumpet and french horn and I love them both. For me the range of the french horn is so lovely and the technique feels so much more natural to me.

Unfortunately not. However, there are some free DAWs for Windows out there like CakeWalk www.bandlab.com/products/cakewalk

what microphone do you use?
I have a question about the French horn... what is the most important thing to practice as a beginner? Since I don't have band right now, I have no idea what to do...
I’m not sure what the most important thing is but my band directors say to at least consistently practice something because you will get better. Like maybe some scales or a small piece of music. I would recommend playing long tones and practice playing lower and higher range of notes as like a warm up. Hope this helps!
How good is the Wessex Horn?

For the price now, you could find a used conn 8d or Yamaha 567. But! I am still using mine daily so they do hold up fine.
