What Year is your Ford Taurus Police Interceptor Sedan?
If you have people vandalizing your police interceptor, (and this is no joke) put a blow-up doll with a hat and dark clothes in the drivers seat when you leave it. No one will touch your car.
UpperRobin29 Great idea but where do you get the blow up doll?
Bob Cutty the sex toy store, just get a blow up sex doll.
Ive had my grand marquis egged or milkshaked. It pisses me off because its clearly not a cop car.
You can do this and it also works if you have a dead cop body sitting in the passenger seat
This is true I used to pass a crown Vic on my way to Mexico all the time. It wasn’t until you got close that you realize it was a piñata on the driver seat.
You bought a cop car...did you not realize it would draw attention?
Of course if you leave the spot light on
There one selling for 7,300 around my city but they left everything thing in but the red and blue lights
@@bearbear8693bro you’re making absolutely no sense. Gibberish
Congrats on 10k - you earned it! That's amazing!
The Walmart thing happens to me all the time. It's the herd mentality. Empty parking lot. Park a mile away and bam, car parks next to me.
I want one so bad!! Badass sleeper material
I own a 2015 Taurus interceptor, and I ACTUALLY do the speed limit. The gas mileage is not that good, however it can also depend on elevation where people live as well. Anywho I liked the video.
love the videos man! Keep it up

Likes to drive cop cars and is surprised when people want to mess with it? The true reason people buy ex-cop cars because of the "cool factor" of driving the cars a cop used to. Cop cars are made in many ways better than the civilian version. You have a desire to drive like they do sometimes, it's a bit of an adrenaline rush. No shame in that. Just don't get upset when someone screws with your car, especially in today's volatile climate. And of course people that buy these LIKE that they look like cop cars and, in a small way, like that it f*cks with peoples heads.
If you TRULY didn't care that it looks like a cop car and want to reduce the risk of vandalism you'd remove the spotlights (the main thing that screams COP CAR!), put on a nice set of rims, and otherwise remove or mask the other little cues that it was a cop car. You'd still have the same "go fast" fun and good handling, just less chance someone messes with your ride. But, there's a part of you that LIKES to stand out. So, expect some resistance. Can't have your cake and eat it too! ;)
I own a 2013 and I bought it for the safety features, I have been on the receiving end of a few car accidents in my life and having a car that is rated for 75MPH impact. Also has steel reinforced structural supports and bullet resistant doors, the doors are not really a selling point but the rest really is for me. I wanted a Taurus for the interior space and the PI sedan is just as good and when I purchased it almost $10k cheaper with a slightly peppier non turbo engine.
i have a 2013 police Interceptor utility and i love it
I've had my 08 Cr Vic for 1 year 4 months now and i love it,all i've done to it is a trans svc for 50 bucks,i supplied the filter,it has 116 k with under 1600 idle hrs and it has carpet it was a supervisors car,i paid 4500 out the door and i still feel like i got a good deal, congrats on the 10k subscribers.
sounds close to mine.. I've had it a month and it's an 08 with 117k, 238 idle hours.. paid $3600.
I bought my `10 in May of 16, it had 117k for $1900
I've had my 2010 CVPI for about 6 months, had 71k miles when purchased, and was only $5000. Was a hell of a deal for its condition
I have a 08 CVPI for 1600 just alternator and battery check me out! I'm subbing you guys
I love my 04. It was a slicktop constables car. No holes in the roof or trunk.
I am convinced thanks to your videos, to get one. I wanted a Cvpi, but this convinced me
When im driving i don't like to get attention but i need a good car that well last then what i have
My crown vic feels like it gets around the same mpg as ur Taurus
Unless I'm just goofing around then it's not so good
To me ,surface roads it drives a little ruff on freeway its extra comfortable
it can be a little annoying. one time some threw soda on my PIS but I love it. I went a little different I bought the 2013 Limited for around 12k with 85k miles but I put the Police package in the outside.
I just bought a 2014 taurus poloce interceptor just like yours from the auction for $4,750 with 130k miles. Super clean exterior as well. Excited to get it delivered
I have a cvpi and I was wondering if yours came with a push bar or did you buy it yourself? I was thinking of checking at my local junkyards for one but I don’t know. Thanks
As far as gas goes even on the civilian models my LX Crown Vic gets the same or better mpg on the highway than my friend's Limited AWD Taurus. The only big difference in efficiency is when idling the Crown Vic burns about .5/gal an hour vs around .36 or so on a Taurus apparently.
Any aftermarket parts for it? The aftermarket for the Vic's is insane for just about any part you can think of
hey, just out of curiosity when you had the Vic, how much was the insurance. that's the main reason my mom doesn't want me to get a Vic that my insurance will "shoot through the roof" with the V8. so how much was the insurance for the Crown Vic
10 grand? I’ll keep my CVPI for $2,500.
It's a classic but this one looks better
Lol more like 6 or 7k
@@BigChungus-yk5mw nah
It's dropped below 10k now. The most expensive one I found was 7500$ CAD.
@@JecuskyGarrett I found a 2015 with 42k for $12k
What MPG do you get on the highway? Maybe a highway cruise video to show us? Or whatever
Yikes! I dislike the price for the front lights you mentioned since I also have the 2014 Ford Taurus Interceptor. I also have a retractable equipment tray in the trunk that gets in the way if I have to carry large box or Tupperware and have to take out the foldable divider board and spare tire to make it fit.
First comment and great video big dawg still looking beautiful also and congrats on the 10k subs
Take the spotlights off & its a lot less cop looking.
With or without the spotlights, it still scares the shit out of motorists. I would know; I have a 2014 FPIS without spotlights.
@@eggietheroll1802 oh I know. I drive a 2013. I dont even have a pushbar & people still think im a cop.
a good car for an Uber-taxi has spotlights
Hello!
I live in New York.Should I buy a 2014 Taurus police interceptor with 115k miles for $7500 to use it as a taxi?
Is it relaible?
Hey I’m thinking about buying one of these and the overhead counsel is missing, are they easy to find for this car?
I have doors for an ‘03-‘11 CV. Where do you think would be the best place to try dandy sell these parts?
The civilian version?? Pretty sure the 3.7 is interceptor only
Awd drink more gas then rwd or fwd, sometimes it can be a few stuff like fuel injectors or fuel filter need replacing because they were used by police. When buying these cars you have to check the hours on the engine (how long has the engine been running). Police sit in their cars so checking that can tell a lot about the car on many factors.
Do u have to ut special "police interceptor" brake pads etc or can u use standard ford taurus parts?
Where can I go if I wanna buy one ? Or search up other than cop cars online.
Great vid as usual.....u should do a face reveal :)
Been thinking of picking one up and turning it into a drag car. They go for around 5-6k in my area with around 150-180kms. The Automatic AWD V6 platform with over 300hp seems pretty appealing for a cheap drag car. Throw a supercharger and a nice tire set up, gut the whole thing and put in a cage? I’d love some suggestions from the people who drive these things. Would it be worth it? Would it be (fairly) reliable?
you and me think alike
transmissions can hold 500 hp max if they are perfectly maintained so you would need an aftermarket transmission
You can find Twin turbo models like the SHO edition as well. A little hard in the police package but they are there.
Where did you get the console for your crown vic?
Interesting Video... Here are my thoughts as I have owned both a Lincoln Town Car and currently own a 2015 Taurus. The 2010 and newer Taurus is much higher tech and better quality than a a Vic. The headlights on the Taurus a projector beams and are easily 10x better than old tech. That's going to cost you. The Vic is an old school 1970's design based car. It is also much bigger in and out than the Taurus. The Vic has an enormous trunk, no doubt. For a modern full size sedan, the Taurus has a GIANT trunk that is very well designed. Your complaints are sort of weak because you are comparing apples to oranges. I can tell you love the Taurus and had to really hunt for complaints. I love my 2015 civilian Taurus. I've been thinking of filling the other side of my garage with an SHO or Police Interceptor. Only problem is I don't think I can fit two of them in there... LOL
With fuel economy… do the interceptors have a factory tune for high speed capability over the civilian vehicle?
I’m looking to buy one around July next year! What’s the best recommended year of the police Taurus to get ??
2015 or higher
About number 5 it's amazing how many people think you have to believe exactly what they believe
Least your radio is working . Just picked up one for my son and press the power for the radio to come on and it does for a second then it goes right off . That’s what I don’t like about the one I picked up
The biggest think I don't like about the car is the Stereo and the cost of tires for the car. They are insanely priced for a car tire due to the weight of the vehicle, the size of the tire, and the speed rating.
The crown that is always will be number 1 I have a 01 and still running like new
The Cli-Taurus is nice!
I heard that the minute you even press on it a little bit it down shifts on the city due to it being a Interceptor. The regular Taurus doesn't do that. Maybe that's why your gas consumption is so high? I have a heavy foot too, pretty sure more heavier then yours lol
When i had my cvpi. I had my tires slashed the door kicked in. Right after it was painted it was egged. And some one kicked in ny headlights. I got side swiped when parked infront of my house the person who did it left a note that sed f-u. I lived in a super nice area at the time. I miss that car
That's crazy, no one has the guts to do it when the cops in it but they'll take their Revenge after it's in civilian hands oh, sorry for your hassles
Where can i get a puck and the silver hubcaps
“The gas”. The gas” also has nothing to do with the gas. Lol
Cool video and it’s possible that a leo turned down your take-down light as a courtesy.
Minor annoyance, but yes he should use mileage as his phrase of choice
I average 14 mpg in the vic.. all city driving.. woohoo!
@Chris Vandernaald
Awesome! Thanks for not referring mpg as “the gas”! Lol
I get 18.5 in the Taurus regardless of driving, either highway cruising, around town, or responding like a bat out of hell (though on the highway onramp the gauge does visibly drop)
500 for headlights! That's how much it was for me to get 4 used tires. A balance and alinement. Still throttling for my crown vic. Once my vic is all done and the way I want it. We have to do a meet up in Auburn
Try getting your used tires for your Crown Vic at Bestusedtires.com out of Pennsylvania. They have good prices on fleet used tires with around 85-95% tread left. They will not sell side wall repair tires with plugs and only professional patched repair if needed and they will notify of such. Paid under $350 for 4 Goodyear RSA Eagle tires 2 years ago.
Erika_itsumi I don't get why would he worry about replacing headlights on a 4 year old car unless he gets into an accident & his insurance company doesn't cover the costs. All you have to do is change the bulbs every 3-4 years or whenever they go out.
@@mutualdecline2174 No he’s not changing the bulbs. As in a huge number of cars these days you have to buy and replace the entire light unit. My 1997 BMW 540I- $750.00 per light unit. Still, I love that car.
Yall know where to get something for the holes on top of the roof?
The car is very heavy with only a NA v6. Plus awd that alone would kill mpg in the city. 19 mpg city or combined is actually not all too bad. I have a 2010 Nissan maxima 3.5L v6 and i can count how many times I've stayed above 20mpg. Mind you I do use premium gas only.
beautifull car
What are those around magnetic thingys on top of your trunk I forgot what it’s called lol also does it stick well? On high speeds etc
MosTechHelp Puck antennas, and yes if you use the right magnets and super glue they’ll stay on just fine. Never had an issue with mine falling off
Notorious CVPI where did you get them from? And how much
@MosTechHelp
The internet is pretty awesome.
Do these cars take 87 or 89 for gas?
I think I want to believe interceptor as a beater car
What percent is your tint on it?
does this car have back up camera?
I found that exact Ford Taurus but with a push bumper on it and it has 42,000 miles And the dealership I went to that had this car gave me a 100,000 mile 10 year Power train warranty
10K special!!!
I'm thinking of getting a 2017 myself.
This is much newer than any Crown Vic, everything is going to much more expensive including the price of the car. Once it hits the age of the Vic, the price is going to drop dramatically.
I wanted one of these, but I just like the CV too much, nothing like the ride of a BOF car. My previous CV was an 06 detectives car, all black with 95,000 on it. Got rid of the pillar spot light, added the rest of the body side mouldings and put some Bullitt wheels on it, looked like a nice black CV and not a cop car at all.
If it's all wheel drive it's going to drink a little more that a 2 wd. A lead foot will reflect in more fuel stops, Good luck!
Is this still on the road?
Slightly heavier than the vic with a little more power but probably not as great of a power band will probably be the culprit in the not stellar mileage. Very much doubt it has that much to do with your driving if you drive it the same as you did the Vic. I average about 18 in my Vic normal driving and about 21 highway blasting, but I have to drive between 75-85 to get that.
the adaptive AWD eats into the mileage, if you are a heavy highway driver it gets OK mileage and for long trips its pretty great.
I got mine for $1300 no lie, it had 200k miles on drive train but only 50k on engine, plus it was engine swapped to an SHO
This Taurus is awd, crown Vic was rwd
I want a utility with the ecoboost but they're rare and expensive. And I don't want people messing with it tho.
Nice ✝️❤️🙏
Police use transmissions have a rev hang and quick down shifts...that's a big factor for the mpg loss
I get the "cop wave" in my '11 CVPI all the time.
I would definitely recommend replacing the waterpump on these motors. Before they go bad. They are expensive if they go out. Fatal flaw of these motors.
So, is your car for sale?
headlights aren't that bad. 1 of my non touring headlights on my accord is $550 a side when the DRL goes.
i have an sho and i get 9 miles a gallon so i fell the gas mileage struggle
I still want to have the lnterior lights to turn on when the door opens
My SHO is always around 17 MPG in the city.
Taurus trunks are huge !
You have to remember that this is a all wheel drive. That really play with the fuel mileage. Plus not everyone carries wheel covers in their trunks. You just need to prioritize what you really need to carry in the trunk.
What are you talking about that gas mileage is better that on my brothers car which is 18.9 mpg
How’s it in the snow?
I own a 2014 Ford Taurus Police Interceptor as well and it's amazing in the snow. Just make sure to put on some decent snow tires. I don't see it getting stuck. Never had to shovel it out of the driveway. lol
I have one as well, and it’s obvious they’re going to draw attention. What did you expect? Lol
There one being sold and i swear to God it has the part still on it where it looks like a under cover car
I can send you the picture but i would have to message you some to show you it
8:40 I own a 2015 Ford Police Interceptor Utility and recently neighborhood kids started messing with my spotlights. Ended up sticking it in my garage to make sure it's safe.
Do u still have to this day?
I'm looking at a silver Taurus cop car.
3.5L turbo awd.
I'm over a minute in and got bored with this video.
Guess I will just buy it and resell it if I don't like it.
This is the 3rd bunk taurus video I came across in 24 hrs.
8:49 - An Interceptor is a wrong car to use as an unmarked surveillance car?
Bro hit up your local Dollar Tree and get a knock off Swiffer duster and clean up that dash! lol
They really pulled all the police parts out of your Taurus. Looks different in the trunk without a tray and gun safe, you really lose a lot of space with those two things, recently hooked my lights and put a pushbar on my Taurus, just uploaded on my channel. But it’s true this car will grab so much attention, when I lived in NYC a lot of the cops drove slowly by my vehicle so many times at night, I actually got to speak to a couple they just really thought it was cooled I owned a retired one haha.
do these have air bags??
Yes
Why would you need to worry about headlights/taillights on a 4 year old car? Unless you get into an accident & crack or break them while uninsured then you worry about the pricing. Otherwise all you have to do is replace the bulbs every 3-4 years.
your points about price seem a bit invalid. its a much much newer car than a crown vic therefor prices go up as well as availability of parts and ford wants to move away from sadans so they will make less of the part diving up cost.
might be the additional weight police vehicles have
I bought one for $1700... SHO trim... NICE
