Like they tell you how wopple actually got a crazy of come up after getting his ass beat and became even more successful than before Luffy mopped him, and now with Marine backing. Don't think they ever touch on how the gates of justice at Marine Ford were made of wopple metal in the anime

Remember that during the entirety of the fight with the Alliance he was actively carrying Onigashima and we know it takes effort to do so as right as Luffy splits the sky with Kaido the island starts shaking, the next time it does shake unsteadily like that again is when luffy unlocks G5. Kaido had to put in more effort into the fight with time while carrying it otherwise he might not have gone down even then.

Big Mom is a hilarious deeply neuro-atypical woman who used to be really cool before power corrupted her.
Her weirdness is really what grabs you also she has had more backstory.

In the manga the Marines said there was a skirmish between the Red Haired Pirates, and Beast Pirates. The definition of skirmish is an episode of irregular or unpremeditated fighting, especially between small or outlying parts of armies or fleets. I don’t give a fuck what anyone says they fought. Shanks is just that guy. Plus in the anime/manga when fighting Luffy he questions how high is Luffy’s potential ceiling and is Luffy as strong as some of the other strongest Pirates he’s faced among the people Kaido compared Luffy to was Shanks. In fact shanks was the only person alive that Kaido compared Luffy to.
