I've just found your channel, and it's fantastic. The H beam production from scrap steel hooked me, and your subtitles are gently hilarious.
"....Korea. ain't north." could win an award. I could tell it was true because of the lack of stimulants, and nobody seemed inclined to eat the wood chips.
    Funny, and informative. Thank you!

People in DPRK live quite well. S Korea is a US proxy colony, the USA killed 1/5 of the Korean people in the war, and split their country in half, funding Syngnman Rhee, who committed genocide against his own people.
The CIA pays N Korean defectors to lie about their experience in the North.
      Anticommunism is fascism.
      DPRK is the REAL Korea.

The book-matching shows craftsmanship. You might consider adding a rabbet joint to the top, especially because it is so thick that there should still be depth enough for the biscuit. I recommend this because this would help long term stability. cutting blocks get whacked a lot, and lateral forces on the biscuits have to deal with it. The small shoulder from a rabbet would transfer force from the top to the leg without impingement on the biscuit.

The first process to square the lumber is called Jointing and can square two sides of the lumber. The next process is called Plaining. The side that has been through the jointer is placed face down on the plainer so then both top and bottom of one piece is square.

    • @markuhlman3767
      @markuhlman3767 Před rokem

The squaring process is called planing. Jointing is when you combine two pieces together...just saying.

    • @MrKotBonifacy
      @MrKotBonifacy Před rokem

@@markuhlman3767 _Jointing is when you combine two pieces together_ - JOINING is when you "combine two pieces together".
Yes, English can be quirky sometimes, and that first machine shown here is called a "jointer" - don't ask me why. Yes, all it does is making/ cutting a flat and straight PLANE on a piece of wood, but hey, I wasn't on the committee inventing the name for it.
So you run one side of a timber through the JOINTER, then the adjacent/ adjoining one - and if the fence on the jointer is set at a right angle you effectively "square" the workpiece (mind you, two sides only).
Then you pass it through the "planner" (in some countries called "THICKNESS planner") which makes sure the timber is equally thick along its length.
      Well, "just saying". ;-)

The process is called planing. It's to make the wood surfaces perfectly flat and all the same height.
