Late response, but if you get an F1TV subscription you get access to the archive, there’s tons of historical stuff in there. There’s full season recaps for 1970 through 79, and then every race from 1980 to today. I haven’t been able to find much from pre-1970, though. And not all the races from the 1970s are in there, I presume because they either weren’t broadcast or F1 didn’t have the rights to them at the time.

But, sadly, nowadays the word "hero" has completely lost its meaning, since it's associated with millionaires who play a game instead of firefighters, and the real heroes are demonized, like all the doctors and nurses that have risked their life with the pandemic to help people, and got repaid by being associated with an idiotic world conspiracy

It's not always easy because sometimes those that were recorded if they were in the first place could've been wiped out completely by TV executives who wanted to cut costs of buying in new film tape so they'd tape/film over that. It's a shame but I think if anything the lack of film gives the whole thing much more of mystique to it and whether rightly or wrongly, romanticises them. But I fully agree that it would be nice to see some more footage if it were at all possible.

Jochen was also the only half Austrian half German driver to win the driver cus his father was Austrian and his Mum was German
He was a truly great driver and he will be sorely missed

I would love to see more footage from older races, It is however extremely hard to find in any decent quality!
Dear Dear Formula 1, It would make these trying times a lot easier, if you could give us some classic races, whole races would be wonderful.
anything as far back as you even can scrounge up.

What is heartbreaking is he was becoming more and more worried about safety in the sport. He promised his wife that his drive with Lotus would be his last and that he would retire. And tragically, he died in Monza when a vital component broke on the amazing Lotus 72. Because he didn't have his dive straps secured, he slipped out of his seatbelt, which cut his throat, killing him. Such a horrible, tragic loss for our sport. I wish I lived through the days of the 49 and 72 cars so I could see him race.

Rindt was one of the few in that time who actively fight for the security of the drivers in the 1st rendition of GPDA. He didnt have the same recognition of some of his pairs, but he was one of the greats
    Rest in peace Jochen

A very empathetic and thoughtful commentary / voice over. I assume it was done by Will Buxton, definitely sounded like his voice, but a completely different tone from the usual "çheeky chappy' persona that he adopts for his paddock and pit lane interviews. He should do more of these remembrance / profile pieces about other F1 greats of the past.
