Tony Romo is The Most Underrated and Unappreciated Player of All Time.
Miles Porter TO
Miles Porter
No.
actually no that's drew brees
Conviction 454 no. Just shut up. Drew Brees is recognized as one of the best and is respected. Romo isn't, he had to work his ass off to even get an ounce of respect.
Orlando chavez you're an idiot... a lot of times brees isn't even considered elite. Romo always gets praise cuz he's a Dallas cowboys QB
I'll always love T.O, " that's my quarterback "
W
I bet every receiver he has thrown to will say the same 3 words.
I don’t blame him. This video is only 2 years of highlights. T.O and Romo played there ass’s off, they should’ve won the super bowl that year, they were hands down the best team in the NFL
Romos deep ball accuracy was nuts
Romo is my QB, and I had actually forgotten how good it really was. Watching these clips I was like, "Damn!" on how nice some of those long throws were
Romos throws under pressure still amaze me.
The crazy thing is that he’s wide open on almost every play! Truly amazing!! T.O will always be my favorite WR
Everytime Owens was single covered Romo would read that quickly and toss it to Owens.
Damn T.O. was fun to watch in a cowboys uniform
Runs with Bulls but better as a 9er
With costing Cowboys playoffs.🙆
@@scottsullivan7582 he never cost the Cowboys anything the Cowboys just plain suck! This is coming from a true Cowboy fan! Point is they just suck!!!
@@GR8PRAISE how can you say that about your own team? I'm a dallas fan, but we don't suck. We had huge injury problems this year, but we definitely don't suck. Look at a team like the jags, they actually do suck.
Broke so many records with this duo on madden 😤🔥
Lol
I will never get tired of watching Romos greatness
Lol greatness Terrell owens is greatness
@@jamalford6995 indeed he was. Romo was just underrated and under appreciated. He never had a team around him. Never had a good o line. And the one year he did they lost to the Packers because of the Dez "no catch"
@@coryo130 2008 they had a team. They went 13-3 and lost to the Giants with Romo, TO, Marion Barber, etc. Same year Giants beat Pats for the Super Bowl. Cowboys should've made that Super Bowl over the Giants that year but they always choke in playoffs.
Romo footwork!! T.O. Legwork!!
TO really was elite. he might have been a drama king but his ability to be a WR is undeniable. his stats are very legit
At one point he was on track to shater the touchdown record for receivers I think he broke his ankle that same season...
Yeah, and in SF he shoulda been the next Jerry Rice..and he shoulda won multiSBSs with McNabb....but he was LOCKER ROOM POISON
How much of that stat padding came from Romo? Lots. He threw it exactly where it should be and TO caught it.
I miss the days of the Diva WR’s 😢 T.O., Moss, and Chad Johnson were some entertaining times.
@@therealtrucker7564Sports in General was more fun pre-2015.
Romo was such a pure gunslinger! So fun to watch!
you can't deny Romo's capabilities as a QB. HAPPY TO SEE HIM MOVE ON TO BETTER THINGS !
lol didn't realize I was typing in all caps
Nikki Britt denied
Romo calls the SB this year.
It was easy when your throwing it to a Hall of Famer!!
Long time Dallas cowboys fan and Romo sucked a lot to be honest!! All of the costly interceptions thrown was a nightmare for years‼️‼️‼️‼️
I remember watching Romo throw the ball halfway across the field and having no doubt in my mind that TO was going to catch it. Good times
The throw he made to Williams after slipping past JJ Watt. 60 yards in the air and perfect.
Your comment has 81 likes right now.
T.O. was great at everything but consistently catching it with cowboys. After making all of these Romo highlights, there are alot of tds and potential tds that T.O. dropped, and even caused an int. 07 Romo could have thrown over 40 tds if Owens didn't drop some of those very easy to catch passes.
Really? I loved TO when he was with the Cowboys, but every time the ball was thrown to him I was worried he’d drop it.
I'm sure my wife has had enough of my Romo and TO stories.
Me: If you saw Romo throw a deep pass....
Wife: Yes yes, TO was always at the other end
I’m just being honest young Tony Romo was so much more explosive than Dak Prescott
Facts
Dak will never come close to Romo...ever. The QB I like to watch after Romo is Mahomes. Romo made watching Dallas play bearable.
How many QBs can throw a deep ball with that touch on it? Ask all of his receivers, they'll tell you.
Krause777 no he wasn’t. Romo was more accurate early at this stage but Dak is was more explosive unless you don’t know what explosive means. I still prefer Dak because he doesn’t give games away like Romo did. With TO as a receiver Romo should have won a Super Bowl but it’s been said by the media he was instrumental in getting TO kicked off the team which is stupid if he did.
@Cortez Armstrong Seriously? Romo was constantly battling a bad defense and had to take chances to overcome their shortcoming. If Romo had a decent defense, unlike the 3rd worst in NFL history, things may have been different.
@Cortez Armstrong At this rate, Dak will never be half the QB Romo was.
T.O was amazing
Not even close to a Cowboys fan but man when Romo to Owens was going on, I'd always be rooting for these guys
Terrell Owens and Tony Romo one two punch knockout
People tend to forget the beautiful dimes that Romo was able to throw.
There's no doubt about Terrell Owens being a great WR. That dude was a beast. But lest be realistic about this. Tony Romo was able to make any wide receiver look good.
Laurent Robinson's best season was when he played for the Cowboys in 2011.
He made Miles Austin look great.
He made Dez Bryant look great.
He made Patrick Crayton look like a decent WR.
He literally made Jason Witten a shoe in for the Hall of Fame.
He even made the RBs look awesome. Look at DeMarco Murray for example. The defense had to respect the passing game because they knew that was a legitimate threat with Romo at the helm. So that forced defenders off the line of scrimmage which allowed him to have a 1,845 yard season and the rushing title.
Sadly though, due to his lack of playoff success, Romo may never be considered for the Hall Of Fame.
Very underrated.
Romo should be in the Hall of Fame. And I’m an Eagles fan. Except the HOF might keep him out and rob him like they do with Jim Marshall.
Romo will be a HOFer in my book.
Romo is NOT a HOF, Hall of Very Good maybe, but his likablity in media politics might get him in
@@shazzar756 likability? Romo is like literally the most hated athlete in the history of sports lol
Regardless of all that non sense he belongs in the hall for playing his position at an elite level
The O lline?
On the field these two were made for each other. That connection was something special.
This Romo guy has to be in the Hall of Fame.
-Pats fan
We are Die Hard 49er fans but have much respect for Tony Romo :-) He made the right choice to retire :-) ROCK ON!!!!!!!!
Gonna miss you tony ! Thank you for the 11 years of amazing memories ! You'll forever have a special place in DALLAS 💙
That boy Romo was so nasty 🤣🤣🔥🔥🔥🤣 he definitely had his ups and downs and made me punch a few holes in my wall as a kid but damn im so glad i got to see him be our franchise quarterback and do what he did💯
Hell yeah, same bro
T.O was so good at route running!!!
I know alot of people didn't like TO. But man he was a beast. 💯
Romo slings the ball effortlessly!
50-60 yards easily.
One of the duo's to ever play the game. Only thing missing was the Championships. Romo was a great QB and was always fun to watch. Loved his ability to avoid hits and extend plays.
Mike Waltz right? how did he not get drafted...
Owens scored 38 touchdowns in 3 seasons in Dallas. That was in his late years too.. Such a shame this guy is not in the HOF.
We’re good now
4:35 😲 Romo was a fcken beast, 🚀
Romo is the GOAT! It was so nice to have a REAL QB...
One of my favorite clips is we lost a shootout to New Orleans, and one of the assistant coaches for the Saints catches Romo on the field after the game and says, "Hey, bub. You don't take no sh&t. You're a hell of a player, you hear me?"
Wow I forgot how much of a beast TO was back in the day.
Dak is not a 4th of What Romo was!! These two had a connection that was unreal!
T.O. Gets sooooo much separation!
early romo was best romo love that sidearm release
ddd as quickest release in the nfl. Well was...
Romo was such a beast 🔥🔥
"*crying* that's my quarterback man" - RIP Terell Owens
2007 Cowboys is one of the most underrated teams ever
Oline was trash, the run game was great at times but bad at others. The receivers had an act for dropping passes. And the defense was inconsistent.
But overall they had several super stars that made big plays. So it made them an exciting team. Still I think it was 1 of the 2 teams Romo had that had any chance for a super bowl. The other is 2014. And both times drops lost the game. But in 2014 it really was not a drop.
Owens, what a great receiver. Greatest Cowboy receiver.
And Romo, what an arm. Miss that damn arm.
Michael Irvin, Drew Pearson, Dez Bryant come before TO as far all time great Cowboy Receivers.
@@samuelrogers3326 because they played for the cowboys longer but TO still out up all pro numbers
@@samuelrogers3326 Did you count how many touchdowns that was???? Also HOW MANY SEASONS DID THEY PLAY TOGETHER???? I’m just asking 🤔
@@fat005 Terrel Owens played 3 seasons with the Cowboys here are his stats vs. Dez Bryant’s 3 best seasons with Dallas. Terrell Owens 2006-2008: 235 Catches, 3,587 yards, 38 touchdowns.
Dez Bryant 2012-2014: 273 Catches, 3,935 yards, 41 Touchdowns
Both Receivers had the same Quarterback Tony Romo. Mind you Terrell Owens was older than Dez and had a younger less experienced Romo.
romo was the best cowboy QB but Irvin was the greatest reciever
I miss you every game T.O.!
watching this shows you how much talent Romo has.
Special Combo! Romo to Owens 06-09
Romo could quickly drop dimes all day long with time. Dak needs to learn how to do it.
Bad ass duo!!! We should have went to Super Bowl at least twice!!! T.O and Romo two of the greatest players ever!!😎😎😎
I'm sorry but T.O was by far Romo's best chance at winning a Super Bowl. And Dez don't even come close to being what T.O. was
C.Foster yea
I agree Dez sure does not match Irving or T.O as a receiver
Dez can't find a job since being cut.
I remember watching these games as a young Cowboys fan. Man, that was awesome!
I love Dez but T.O in my opinion was the most dominant Cowboys Wide Receiver period.
Mike Irvin
Irvin
Romo out there dropping DIMES to TO
Man I ENJOYED the hell outta' these highlights!!!!!!
Damn Romo 2 T.O. was Money
This duo was so fun to watch. Still got my T.O. jersey haha
*Thats my Quarterbac* 😢
Amazing that such a young romo could handle a “diva” receiver like to w/ no added pressure… and cudos to TO for giving a young guy a chance, guaranteed if they asked him romo prob threw him the best balls of his career…
For sure, after T.O. hand surgery in 06 he had a dropping issue but statistically you could not tell because of Romos placement. After making Romo highlights looking at the games, if T.O. had his pre surgery catching ability he would have had a 1500+ yard season with 20 tds in 07 at the very least instead of 1355 and 15 tds. Because he dropped easy tds and potential tds on deep balls where he was open that season. And could have had more if T.O. and Romo played the final game. I think Romo played quarter or 2 maybe but T.O. didn't play that game. They had a pretty crazy statistical season for 2007 with a bad oline, an nfc east where redskins, eagles and giants all had top 10 defenses and no one had a losing record. Plus going against patriots top 5 defense and packers.
T Owens is my favorite WR of all times damn miss watching him play for the Cowboys
I am a giants fan but I have respect for romo I thought him and eli were great rivals
The Forehead your profile pic is beautiful
sir seems like u uhav a big tumor on ur head
Haha I know
The Forehead agree, gonna miss that rivalry
I know I thought that was one of the better QB rivalries
Sometimes these kind of things happen in the NFL. You'll get someone that gets the "short stick". In case of Tony Romo, he had to do most of the work and to take a high pressure situation like that and make it the best you can when you had very little support, well, it's just magical. That's why when I saw Brady make that comeback in the Super Bowl I thought the same thing. He carried his team on his back, but in Brady's case, he had better personnel as well as a better coach, so it made that comeback all that much easier. Sometimes you get Kings in Poker and sometimes you get a lousy two. Romo got the two, but he played his hand the best he could with what he had.
The truth to your comment stings and leaves a bitter taste to the reality....it reminds me of Dan Marino Warren moon.
Romo dropping those dimes🔥
Romo gets the ball to the man. Plain and simp we need that from dak
Had no idea they linked up this many times
What a fun time and talented to watch back then. Romo was fun to watch also. I know what the critics would say, but Romo overachieved coming out of NOWHERE. Parcels saw what everyone else didn’t. Looking at this reminds me of the days when the cowboys scored points and were actually AHEAD IN A GAME - COMFORTABLY. The league and the cowboys were so much fun with T.O. He should have been a FIRST BALLOT Hall of Famer. Dak is a great guy and I like him, but even with all of Romo’s mistakes - he made many, I still always “believed” he could pull it off, he just had that energy. Dak has many comebacks to his young name, but I don’t know why I just don’t feel the same way...
The dude was in his early to mid 30’s and still burning corners.
U can call me crazy but if the boys brought back t.o, dez and romo and with this o line and zeke in the backfield. Its a ring for sure.
HELLL yeah!!!!!! You not crazy you know football this line is wat Tony need the whole time. And with a run game hell even had Demarco Murray stayed I think we could have got a ring then
4:35 super bowl material
TO is so underrated
Was now he hall of fame but still he has his critics
Michael: pretty sure T.O. is anything but underrated.
everyone knows how amazing that he was.
Those mid to late 2000's Cowboys teams were some of the best I've ever seen at scoring on big plays from inside the 40 and the 20. It was a great offensive philosophy of wanting to score before reaching the red zone, before the field "shrinks".
Romo loved the back shoulder inside the front corner of the end zone. Did it with Dez and Witt.
Soon as I read "every touchdown" I got my popcorn ready...No pun intended
Dak should be forced to watch Romo highlights every Saturday night.
And Sunday mornings.
Romo should have a ring
Did Romo yell out "T.O."? at 2:39 ?
Adrian Castaneda yes!
I miss Romo. Dallas cant complete a long pass anymore.
It’s such a damn shame Romo never had a good defense to back him up. He had to do it all of the Cowboys wanted to win.
Both of these guys will end up in Canton.
Romo was not a HOFer. He'll be in the NFL Hall Of Fuckups. T.O. made Romo look good.
@@koolmoe1971 He is gonna go to the hall of fame eventually
THAT'S HIS QUARTERBACK MAN
TO was getting crazy separation from the D. He was super wide open in these highlight. I think he was in his mid to late 30s with Dallas.
Owens was faster with Dallas than he was in San Francisco. Which is rare for a player to get faster with age.
Owens never lost his athleticism, it was his hands that got worse. Which is weird because usually you lose your athleticism, but keep your hands when you get older. After that hand surgery on 06, Owens had a dropping problem that lasted for the rest of owens career and it kept getting worse.
@@thecensoredmuscle563 it wasn't that bad Cooper drops way more passes
@@handsomedevil254 Amari Cooper? Maybe in Oakland but not even remotely close in Dallas. Cooper doesn't drop wide open deep passes to endzone that hits right into the hands constantly, nor get lost in sight where the ball is. I loved T.O. but the guy dropped alot is tds and deep big plays after that hand surgery, but also made alot of deep plays and big plays.
Granted T.O. had a great gunslinger, Cooper had a elementary type passer who couldn't hit Cooper in stride, so it's not easy to compare.
T.O. Was really super fast and really strong. He didn’t look dynamic with acrobatic Odell catches, but he was very explosive with regular stuff that most receivers struggle with.
Dude we had a superbowl team..it breaks me as a fan. 😔
How much of that did Owens do on his own? Yeah, Romo threw almost all of those passes perfectly, but T.O. gained A LOT of yards after the catch. In my humble opinion, they are both first ballot hall of famers.
Andrew Pack romo hall of famer 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Andrew Pack T.O. was AWESOME after the catch!
No 1st ballot HOFer only wins two playoff games. Way too weak late in seasons with a shot at the playoffs or in the playoffs.
Adam Cartwright why does a qb need team stats to go in the hof. Shouldn't they be judged on their talents and not the teams talent. Because Romo blows aikment and staubach out of the water in stats but since they had better teams they went to super bowls. Romos stats say hof but his team was always lacking a defense and good coach. And he got screwed in the playoffs by the ref
young romo is so much better than a young prescott
konawolv by far even now u see the accuracy of these throws
konawolv I agree as a passer but young romo made a lot more mistakes and wasn’t as mobile
Romo is 27-28 in this video. Prescott is 23 years old. Lets give Prescott 3 more yearsbefore we compare him to Romo in his 4th/5th year.
You mean the guy fumbled the FG snap to win his first playoff game, then couldn't get half a yard for the 1st down to give them 1st & goal on the 1 foot line?
Why not compare them now? Romo never threw a down in a regular season game before his first game. He was awesome even then. Dak will never be this accurate. Why else would they have to build a “Dak Friendly” team? Smh. I root for Dak more than the next person but it’s no comparison, never will be!
Moore, Dak, Gallup and Cooper as a matter of fact every receiver on the roster should watch this video at least once a week until the off season starts. Then watch it some more. Memorize every play. T.O. was consistent and I'm sure a solid o-line contributed. That Dallas T.O. Jersey is my favorite.
He will be missed he's retiring #DC4L COWBOYS BABY
How is TO not in the HOF?
on the field these two were made for each other
another beast jerry got rid of
Watching these highlights shows me what Dallas is currently missing: a WR that can get consistent separation down field. Hope they find one soon.
Need a QB to hit one.
Damn TO was fast for being a big wideout! Hall of Famer in my book✊🏽
For the love of the game you cant beat T.O. , Romo , Favre
This guy Romo sure had a quick release, long, ball accuracy and short touch passes and lob... and Owens.. too bad they let him go in 2010... dez and owens would of been sick for Romo...
That would have been crazy no defense at that time could have stopped those two receivers can't double both of them....maybe only the Steelers I think they a guy name palomalo back there maybe
Chad Johnson catching touchdowns for El Chapo's football team now.
Romo doesn't get enough credit for his knowledge of defense, his accuracy. T.O. had some speed that I don't remember him having!
TO was a beast he produce for every teams he play for
Eagles fan givin credit to romo. Pain in the ass when we played together. Absolutely amazig qb tho on and off the field
this just convinces me more that TO should be in the hall, look at the speed and separation he has at that age... unheard of.
Nobody believes he shouldn't have been (even though he is now) based on his play but he was a cancer in the locking room and had a horrible selfish attitude the took him so long to get in
LMAO @ T.O. posing on the Dallas star for that first TD
Terrell Owens is a Niner and always will be, want to see some real highlights check his early years out.
If T.O doesn't get in the HOF next season then the NFL is is petty as well, how could they snub on a big money better for them.
MACAVEL1 totally agree, how can he be top 5 in important receiving numbers and not be in the HOF. This man played with an injury during his only super bowl appearance and came short. He was an entertainer and ill always remember who he was as a player.
MACAVEL1 the NFL doesn't put him into the hall. The sport writers do.
Look what they did to Charles Haley. He had five rings and it took him forever to get in.
It’s about dang time too lol.
Owens Romo Barber shouldve gone to the super bowl! My damn Cowboys
Romos deep throw was incredible he shouldve gotten a ring with owens
Romo could drop a ball into hands at 65 yards.
That's my Quarterback!!!
T.O we could use you back in Big D we know u still got it bruh!!!
#DC4L
it is disrespectful to even think about Romo being in the hall of fame when this man T.O. isn't
Sean-Michael Mahony TO will be in HoF romo should be 20 years down the road
"Thats my Quarterback "
@1:13 What a freaking throw
