“I don’t get emotional when I find out I’m wrong.” Oh my word! What a fantastic way to be. If everyone could be that way all the time, how would that change the world….. I will be repeating that in my head forever.
It is awesome!
I wrote that down, I had gotten emotional earlier today when I was wrong. Thanks Aaron!
And it is okay to be wrong and admit it. She is a gem.
Don’t you get tired of pushing your hair from your face? Have you considered getting it cut short?
@@1950steeleI hope she never cuts that beautiful thick hair off!
Aaron is so unintentionally funny. Love videos with both of you. Your such a great team. Keep up the great work! 🌿
Lol! I agree! I giggled when he said mojo. For some reason I thought it was funny hearing Aaron use that word.
Laura last week I was working in my garden and needed some items and did not have time to wait, ran to Home Depot and I got stop 10 times before getting inside the garden area just because people were stopping me because of my shirt Garden Answer to tell me I watch Aaron and Laura every day it was delightful to hear that and glad that they did the Same and it was couples and eager to talk about gardening young couples which I was excited and glad to hear, just to let you know ❤
Seeing you preserve, bake and process your produce is fantastic Laura, thank you for inspiring me in this area.
Your generous hearts and kindness and knowledge sharing is a gift.
Laura and Aaron, it’s a joy to watch anything, and everything, you choose to share! Gardening, antiquing, cooking, canning, creating, family time, and a bit of decorating now and again. Watching GA starts my day in such a positive way!
The highlights video is so informative. I can’t imagine not having this on my must see videos on my list of favorites. Thank you for these videos and making me feel grateful to be part of this great community.🥰
I think you both are very laid back with life in general, although I can tell that you both want things a certain way. You accept the advice and help from more experienced people that you've hired too. You both complement each other and have found the perfect way to make a living that makes you happy too.
Your Mom has been doing a GREAT JOB on caring for all your house plants in the studio!!
Love all your videos- planting, canning, making wreaths, etc. Keep on being you. ❤
Hi Laura, loving the canning and cooking content! Commercial strawberry growers in the UK use raised beds on legs, which take less to fill and also allow for good air circulation.
You could do a "false" bottom too.
Yes Aaron, we need your expertise too! Keep it coming!
I do enjoy see Aaron talk about the things he does in your space. And what a beautiful space it is.
Not getting mad at being wrong is a gift Aaron has that many of us wish we could conquer. For me, it comes from being mad at myself for being wrong. Which sounds ridiculous when I just typed that out. Now I am mad... lol (not really). You two are such an inspiration and thank you for the hard work you put into each video.
Not getting mad because you were wrong is maturity.
One thing to consider when it comes to paving the driveway is how hot it is in a warm climate. It gets hot.
I think on the rare occasions when something silly happens Laura just leaves it in the video which I love so much!
I love having Aaron talk more! The way you interact together is perfect ❤
You can tell they are a great match.
For years we had a gravel driveway with no problems. Then we paved it. Every time that we had a downpour rain after that we had flooding issues.
Pavement also retains heat! Grew up in the western desert and that pavement just held the heat melting our shoe soles in the summer, lol. The gravel is light in color so that wouldn’t be a problem. On a personal note, we put gravel in our raised bed walkways instead of mulch to reduce weeds and implement a French drain system. I was surprised by the temp change!
How's your sister's garden coming along? Would she feel comfortable showing us the progress once it has cooled down? Answered 🌟😀
I'd like to see them start their espalier trees!
Fun fact- when u harvest the grapes right after the first frost- they use those to make Ice wine! An after diner cordial type wine! Only produced in the Niagara Region! ( sold at Trader Joes too)
I love your gravel driveway! Growing up with one I always thought blacktop was cool. I now have appreciation for the quaintness of the country aesthetic. Blacktop would change the whole feel of your property in my opinion. Maybe create a playcourt on your new property if you think it’s a good thing? Personally I think your kids are so blessed to have all the experiences they have living with you both on your lovely property, and I’d forgo a pool and blacktop!
Would probably get really hot too
I think hearing from your dad would be refreshing. We need more real people that speak truth. You and Aaron do it so well.
Thanks for sharing about the Dewalt blower and the wrist fatigue, Aaron. As I grow older, that kind of thing becomes much more important, lol. I hope you film it so we can see how you install the path lights. Acceptance of truth regardless of circumstance is a wonderful quality to possess. Thanks for being you, Aaron. It sounds like Benjamin is practicing intermittent fasting!
Laura is definitely getting more like her dad. Lol! Aaron is always so mellow. 🙏
Yes to being more confident when you get older , I turned sixty but my feelings can still get hurt. Shows I’m still human 😅 Laura an Aaron you are two very positive people it’s what I like most about your videos.
Oh my Aaron. I had to set up a ton of shots......your so funny. Thank you for doing that. The flowers were gorgeous because you did.
Love the cooking and canning portions!! Good additions to the gardening mix. Showing us how you utilize the great stuff you grow.
Aaron! We love you, and your vlog was NOT a wreck! Keep it up. By FAR my favorite channel to watch.
What are going to fill that with??? Things. 😂😂😂. I literally laughed out loud at that!
Laura and Aaron, I always look forward to Sunday mornings so I can watch your videos while enjoying a cup of coffee! The two of you are so adorable and well matched. I love that you both get tickled with the other’s comments and laugh a lot - that’s so important in a marriage. I hope you’ll never stop making these videos. ☺️
I'm 64 and think your dad and I would get along great. I love knowing what you see (or hear) is what you get! I wish more people were that way.
You can store your sealed jars with the rings if you prefer. After they've cooled remove the rings, wipe the jar down and put the ring back on very loosely. It won't affect the seal if you keep it up, not touching. I usually store without rings, but have done both.
34:14 Laura sliding that “with horses” comment in there was super slick. 😂😂😂
Love these recap videos! The bit about Benjamin and his eating. My children did the same. I called it filling their hump. They would eat everything in site. Then just peck at food here and there. Lol!
Mine did every other meal eaters.
My son, too. He would barely eat, and then you couldn't fill him up.
Would anyone else be interested in seeing how all the cameras are set up for the videos? I would think this would be an interesting video. One with Aaron filming and one when Laura films by herself.
YES!!!
YES, I would love to see some of the "Behind the Scene" stuff.❤
I’m embarrassed to say I would find that really interesting. 🙋🏻♀️ I’m always amazed at how interesting I find all their videos, even when they don’t apply to me at all! 😂
ALSO - seeing the editing process
YES! Cameras filming cameras! 🎥
23:11 is such a hilarious part of this video 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣, their faces. Such an adorable couple. I love their interactions. I love them 😍❤️
On vacation in Finland and “lost” my Sunday so here it is Monday morning and still jet lagged but I still need my Garden Answer fix! You create some die hard fans! LOL! After this video and the discussion of cameras and light and all that goes in the behind the scenes it made me think that it might be fun to do a behind the scenes video of all the effort that goes into making the content that you share. It would help your viewers understand the real effort and thought that goes into what you share!
I understand your statement about the differences between the East and West of Oregon. I live in New York rural area on the Vt and Canadian boarders. Every decision made for our state revolves around and seems to benefit the New York City area.
Exactly what I was thinking when she said that! I know too many NYers that would like NYC to secede, and leave the rest of the State alone...lol! I'm in NE Vermont... same here. This little pocket is so much different than the rest of the State. Northern Virginia is the same. Tiny area around DC is vastly different than the rest of the State.
Every week I am pleased that you continue the recap videos!
As you were going through the various videos you covered this week, I would think "oh, that was my favorite", but the next one changed my mind. Finally, it was admitted by me that each one was special in its own way. Just love, appreciate and enjoy everything you all do!💕
Aaron, you did great with your video. The reason why is it's your passion. Passion comes through on videos. The knowledge flows out easily when you are excited, interested, or knowledgeable about a topic. If you combine all three, the flow of the video is engaging. I have worked in news broadcasting. The best footage is natural and appropriately professional for the platform.
No opinions? By example you promote great family values through interactions with children, extended members, and spouses. Also, through your actions, you show respect and kindness with people, with donations, with community projects, and other. Also, just through your unconscious daily routine, you show what is important to your life -- religion, family, time with children, applauding fellow gardeners, marriage...
Yep, your view points are both obvious and welcomed. So refreshing to see these values.
I agree, 100%!!!
🎯
i love you guys
i was having a crappy weekend and seeing the love you guys show each other and the knowledge you know about what you’re doing it’s just such a breath of fresh air. This was a stunning video and I loved everything about it. Thank you girl from Philly.
I did corn in my raised bed last year. My beds are 30 inches tall and I am convinced the corn thought they were taller than they were. They topped out at 4 feet of growth, but they produced perfectly!
How funny!
For the raised bed for the strawberries, have you thought of doing a false bottom instead of worrying about filling it all up? since strawberries have shallow roots you really don’t need all of that depth, just the height for harvesting.
Good morning, Everyone
We bought five acres, that was previously a corn field, and built a new house in 2020. Our first purchase was a JD Gator. I’m 77 and there’s no way I could take care of all the new trees and gardens I’ve planted! It’s a life saver, probably literally! 😊
Laura, I don't know if you will read this but as far as freeze drying goes, it's not just about the 'fresh' eating like strawberries and apples. I freeze dry things that I can't keep fresh in my refrigerator for very long, so I have them on hand to reconstitute and use in a recipe like green onion, chives, mushrooms, spinach and other herbs. I also freeze dry onions, peppers, zucchini and it's amazing for tomatoes. I freeze dry tomato slices, then pulverize them into a powder for instant tomato paste, or sauce. It drastically reduces my freezer space and lasts for years. I have also freeze dried cooked pinto beans and then pulverized them into a powder for instant refried beans. Also, the store-bought freeze-dried food is not a good a good comparison, it's not always the same as stuff you do yourself. I tried the candy route and did a few for my grandkids but it's not my go to. I made home-made bone broth and freeze-dried it for instant broth. While it does free up freezer room which can perish if the freezer dies, it does also take up a bit of room. I use mason jars so I can see the food. but it needs to be in a cool dry dark place for long term storage. I do not plan to store my food long term, it's mostly for convenience.
How do you freeze dry tomato slices?
Hey folks! Laura I want to add my 2 cents to the canning videos… Thank you very much for them! From my perspective as a new to growing vegetables gardener…I see these videos as a blessing. Following your advice has brought huge hauls of food and knowing what to do with this in terms of preservation is solid gold info! Love love love!❤❤❤
I loved that wreath so much! I found similar flowers at a farmer's market, bought a bunch and made one for myself! Mine is a bit lopsided, but the color makes up for it 😂
I love your sister new hair do looks so cute on her
Love how you and Arron are a team when you have the recap at the end of the week x
Last fall I paved my driveway here in New England and it’s 280 feet and it cost me $16,800!!!!! I can’t imagine your cost!!!!
I would love to see you have your dad on. My father spoke his mind. There is great freedom in doing so. My dad has been gone for many years now and I am still learning from the wisdom he gave me. I was like you, a little cringy at some of what he would say, like you with your dad. In time, I realized the truths in those moments of discomfort. I believe your father will be well received. We are all humans here. I believe he will bring a lot of knowledge and laughter. We need to not be so worried about the freedom of speaking ones truth. Blessings to all.
The extra work in filming Laura in the cut garden collecting flowers for the wreath was certainly worth it. The new I phone ad goes on about easier transfer of video from phone to computer. I actually thought of your team, and hoped it would help!
This was a fun video! You were talking about how you just are you now more so than when you guys started... you have grown so much since then. Your videos are awesome so keep up the good work! I really have enjoyed watching you guys for years and all the changes. Love having the pics and videos with the kids in them too! So fun💕
I grew up near Westfield NY…home of Welch’s grapes. I LOVE Concord grapes. Neat you have some. Live in Charlotte now so I miss my Concords!
Good evening from Australia 🦘
Good morning, Laura and Aaron, from Windermere, Florida 9b ❤
I love your Sunday Coffee ☕️ Chats with me 👩🌾❤ I feel like you are going through your week just for me ❤
Happy Gardening Everyone 👩🌾👍
❤Peggy❤
So true - West Oregon versus East Oregon... it's like Danny D. and Arnold S. being twins.
East Oregon is a hellscape with the coolest people. West Oregon is like a garden of Eden populated by the shipfarers of the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.
That last line made literally laugh out loud😂😂😂😂
No one but me asked about Laura's hair being up?? Well, I think it looked marvelous and yes, I remember that she said that she likes it down because it actually helps her stay cooler... It looked so cute, UP... thanks for sharing some of your life with me.
Lots of people made comments about it.
Love this week's videos you had a mixture of a lot of things besides just planting it was Aaron talking about the fertilizer it shows the different roles you all play in the way your Landscaping comes together would love to see more like this week
I have been gardening vicariously through you for the last 6 weeks. I’m out on medical leave and have not been able to work in my own garden. Thank you for providing motivation and inspiration when I needed it most.
I would love to have similar benches in my garden!
I think the garden community is soo much nicer than most others! Gardeners are most often generous and friendly. That’s what I see on social media anyway. You both are awesum ❤️
I have been loving your canning videos and the cooking ones too! Please keep them coming as the season starts to change!
I love all your videos but this one was especially fun… I laughed out loud a few times…Laura & Aaron are so awesome together! ❤❤❤
I love watching the canning you do. You have such a variety of fruits and vegetables. So many projects. Never boring! Thank you for sharing!
Laura, you said you were surprised you didn't receive more alternative comments to your Canning techniques ... well, not many of us have a clue how to Can anything! Btw, I loved that segment.
Love your cooking/ canning videos too. Aaron has a way with him being knowledgeable and diplomatic. Laura is just to cute as she talks about her gardens, kids. When picking fruit don’t wear any cologne that may attract wasps.
Oh that's funny, Laura ... I too Love the sound of the gravel when it's driven and walked on. 🥰
Yeah for your Dad. I was always concerned what others thought, not anymore. At 70 I could care less, I try not to hurt someone's feelings but at this age I've earned my opinion.
I love the recap videos so much! You give lots of info!!
Your channel is refreshing in that you dive straight into the day with gardening and all about gardening. Because that is what you live and breathe everyday. The majority of viewers here are here to learn, to take note and be completely and be totally inspired by your property, and also to gain confidence in what we can do in our own gardens. Like taking the bull by the horns.. As humans I am glad we have the chance to be immersed with growing plants, gardening and the Earth.
I had never considered grapes for my garden until I saw your video harvesting and canning the grape juice. I was so excited to find Niagara grapes at my local nursery this weekend and bought two plants. Hoping for a harvest next year.
Love all your videos, canning & all. Look forward to your videos !!
I appreciate seeing how you use the produce. Your tip of growing what you eat is invaluable!
Good morning loved all your projects this week!🪻🥕🌾🌽
I loved all of the cooking and canning content in the videos this week. So fun 😄
Loved all the canning you showed us and all the recap videos . There are times that I have to go back and watch your videos about a certain plant and the recap is so helpful . Thank you 🍁🍂🌾
Good morning! We always enjoy your recap video's. Great job, Laura & Aaron!
Good Morning Laura n Aaron love the recap video its a great way to start the day while getting ready for church
Thank you for this video it really lifted my spirits! Blessings 💕🤗💕
Thanks for keeping it real, you guys are fantastic and I love that you keep everything garden related , and true to yourselves. Look forward to watching you guys continue to grow ❤
I love all the recap videos that you and Aaron do. Thank you both so much for all the info and taking time to do them for us. God's blessings to you all ❤😊
Great video but I must say your Mom has done a wonderful job with the plants behind you. Lol so now not only do the grandchildren get excited to see Grandma but your plant must get all abuzz. Lol
The blooper-style content I would love to see is some footage with the cats and the silly things the kids say/do!
Yes! I just rewatched one from when the Hartley went in... there was a cat fight in the background. You could only hear it. Then nonchalantly one cat walks by, like nothing happened. A couple minutes later, another cat saunters by. They disappear, and then you hear screeching, again! And Laura jumps! Too funny!
Love the canning and cooking! Just what you do, not fancy or a big production. Just simple!
Good morning all have a safe and blessed day ❤️
Great recap. Lots going on. Thank you so very much for sharing this with us. Appreciated.💯💯💯🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
I love the canning and cooking..keep it coming. I really enjoy my daily dose of gardening/cooking.
I am never going to can myself, but I love seeing how you do it…and love the recipe ideas…would love a cocktail one with your mom and sister
Enjoy your chats every Sunday morning ❤️
I love the lawn video, Aaron you did a great job. Can’t wait to see your next one.
Please do q&a with your dad!! I appreciate the “older & I don’t care” folks ❤
Thanks so much for answering my question. Can’t wait to hear from your dad. 😊
I have cooked and canned for decades and have enjoyed watching your episodes on these this season. Well done and keep it up!!
Always love these chats. I cannot wait for a video with your dad.
Just stopping by to mention I love the compatibility of your gravel drive with your garden greenways as well as with your flagstone or brick walkways. Concrete or asphalt are miserably HOT then radiate the heat collected making it hotter! The air flow between the gravel peas prevents this. In hot climates, concrete or asphalt drives literally can cause 1st and 2nd degree burns on children. I have never heard of a child sustaining a serious burn from a fall onto pea gravel. ❤
Go to an area with blacktop/concrete when its your typical summer heat and watch how the heat radiates from it. You can even film it, then decide if you really want that extreme surrounding your home. Your kids will avoid it.
Talking about the kids growing up so fast......just saw a video where in a new wet sidewalk the parents had their 2 kids ( about same age as Benjamin and Samantha Grace) walk together barefoot down the walk.......So sweet and a great memory as they get older.... Just a thought. Thank you for all you do. and share with "US" Have you thought about putting the flower wreath in the garden shed , by the cut flowers..... it is so beautiful and reminds you how great the garden and flowers were this year. Something to remember during snow and cold. Have a great day.
I love everything you do!! I bought the ingredients to make the marinara. It looks so good
Freeze drying is a great way to store fruit (foods, herbs, etc) rehydrate (or use dried) and enjoy in winter. Love watching your canning , cooking & gardening…. Never boring or repetitive! The kids are sure growing! Love seeing them help mama in the garden & kitchen!🥰
