I am glad someone else pointed this out, i almost took the two-weapon fighting perk at first and then took a bit more time and read the fighter class and thus I now have a Fighter with Two-Weapon fighting and Eldritch blast ...
Hmm what should we call it when they can use dual weapons and are proficient to receive a bonus in attack rolls. Hmmm dual weapons… combat ahh I got it 2 weapon fighting style yea cause when they duel with their dual blades they will be fighting in a style of 2 weapons! Unlike where some random guy takes 2 weapons and uses en both at the same time like some kind of 2 weapon fighting style.
It makes me frustrated for the people, new to the game, and the poor GM trying to teach them. Meanwhile, there is some super cool fight happening. There are two men fighting to the death who are wielding two swords each!
I've been trying different things to make this better in my games. It just feels like this should be a free feat since anyone should get proficient in doing this repeatedly. Wizard, for instance, may need their main hamd to cast spells but keep their dager in their off hand. Makes no sense to require a swap every time they use the dager and want to cast a spell as a bonus action.
No swap is necessary, technically dnd characters don't have a dominant hand. So you can stab freely while completely disregarding which hand your weapon is in. These rules only matter if you try to attack with a weapon in both hands. Dagger/wand and wand/dagger are completely identical setups according to the rules.
It's like they've never heard the phrase "dual-wielding"
No no that's a feat
@@jackson102881 True true. Double-fisting then? As in the beverage version. Get your minds out of the gutter.
RIGHT! And then the fighter could have Dual Proficiency 🤷🏼♀️
They couldn't even call it Improved Two-Weapon Fighting? That's just laziness.
Why not ambidexterity like they've used for 50 years now?
I have been frustrated with this for SOOOO long.
When are you releasing your own rule set? You're gonna fix all this, right? Right? ❤
Yep! One day!
They already used the term "Duel-Wielder" for a feat and just decided to give up.
Ambidextrous

This is like "sustain a spell " in Shadoerun 5e.
Three distinct actions. One is even an atrocity that no one should ever do.

And then they have a feat called duel wielder which people think is two weapon fighting
But in Baldurs gate 3... 🤓☝️
😂😂😂 Not confusing at all 😂😂
Your face says *this frustrates me as much as the guys trying to get a backstory for Dude* 😂😂
I mean Tuheekniclee they call it "two-weapon fighting SHTOYL" but yeah you're not wrong
So, what about a weapon with 2 swords, like the one Darth Maul has?
Can that count as 2 attacks when swung

They could have called it Ambidextrous instead or something, since you've gotten as good with your offhand as you are with your main hand.
Just rename it "Ambidextrous"
Exactly! I just said this before scrolling down another 3 comments to see yours!
I love you Robert!
Can you come dm for us? In Idaho
Why not just Dual Weilding, and then the fighter takes Dual Proficiency 🤷🏼♀️😅
