- On Tuesday, the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol held its fourth hearing this month that focused on President Donald Trump's pressure on top election officials, lawmakers and workers in Arizona and Georgia to overturn the 2020 election results in their states. Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and Wandrea "Shaye " Moss, a former Georgia election worker, were among the witnesses who testified before the committee. The panel sought to bring to light the severity of the threat to democracy in the days and weeks after the election, given the enormous and persistent pressure by the president and by Rudy Giuliani on officials and Americans to promote the "big lie" that Trump had won the election.

That is my fear. If the Republicans can take over the House and/or Senate we are doomed. Look at the Republican controlled states like Florida, Texas, etc that are making it harder and harder for anyone who might vote against them to get their vote counted. Strongarm tactics outside polling places, fewer places to vote in Democrat favored areas causing people to wait hours in long lines. Biden/Senate/House need to pass laws now that supercede states with basic voting rights, conditions. If Republicans DO lose they will keep up their lies that the other side cheated. I hope she can sue one day. This was beyond defamation but defamation at the very least. A class action against Trump and Rudy will be a good start. I am also hoping this committee leads to a trial which I assume is the intent of it. That was so heartbreaking to hear her testify.

It IS a bi-partisan committee but there could have been more Republicans had the three others not chosen to walk away after the two rejected Republicans were not seated. Others could have been named to replace the two rejected but chose to try to ridicule the committee instead.
The other three didn't walk away. McCarthy pulled them and said no other republicans were allowed to join the committee.

I don't call it bipartisan. I call it the committee McCarthy decided on when he refused to seat any Republicans at all.
Personally, if I were in charge I would have had the Republicans pick the five most favorable Democrats and the Democrats would choose the five most sympathetic Republicans.
It would have been a serious and well run committee that reached for truth instead of partisan posturing.
But instead we get the committee that McCarthy decided to go with instead of replacing the pro-conspiracy bomb throwers.
