    I cannot believe how impossible your playing is...I have never seen such taste in playing. THIS is what MODERN jazz needs.

      This isn't just a solo. It is an entire song! Wow!!!!! That Great Gretsch Sound! Wonderful "black-out" effects which accent the drums.

    Best drum sound and best solo I've heard in a long time.
    Doesn't get boring and self-absorbed like many.

    Having a great sounding kit is half the battle but having great musicality doesn’t hurt either.
    Love it cheers Franco

    Great playing and great sounding drums. I have two round badge kits left in the same sizes,18,12,14, and matching snare. One is Tangerine sparkle and the other is Black diamond Pearl.I use to have another in Black Nitron but had to sell it to pay bills!! Thanks for posting.

    Nicely tuned.
    Some of these kits are tuned so high, that the rack tom sounds like a snare , with the snares turned off.
    No body at all.

      THANKS!! No Zoom's mics! Only two AKG c451b overhead, not XY position, in vertical, one around 80 cm over snare/tom , the other at the same hight over floor tom. Moreover, my small room has a good acoustic treatment.

      @genez429 Před 8 lety +3

      Ahhhhhhh! I sorely miss having a cellar to tune and practice in. You, sir. Have captured that great elusive sound that drummers used to beg Sandy Nelson to tell them how he got it. He played Gretsch and later Ludwig, then back to Gretsch. Your style is different, that his of course. But, that sound? Gretsch had a corner on the market for those who knew how to tune and had the right touch. Excellent! Therapeutic sounds from the drums. :)

      Aint it the truth! Love my Ludwigs but the old Gretsch kit in the other room is something else.
