    Love the video and I look forward to hearing some commentary about this video. One thing I wonder about in the video, it appears that the officers lost control of the men once shots where fired. Any idea if this was common to happen? And similarly what would/might happen if all officers where killed?

      Zachary123W this was incredibly common among lower ranking officers or undisciplined soldiers in the field of battle. Typically only the elite soldiers held their line and even then they knew it could only go so far. Now if all the officers were killed then the men would be pretty lost and disarrayed. One of the main reasons that the US won a lot of battles was because of geurrilla tactics and skirmishers sniping the officers before battle. Making the enemy into a bunch of chaotic soldiers running around just shooting

      -The british want to seize weapon-depots on the countryside
      -militia assembles on a field in lexington out of protest
      -british expeditionary forces demand the rebels surrender their guns
      -militia refuses
      -british fix bajonets and prepare to disarm the milita if necessary by force
      -someone opens fire( presumably a hidden sniper )
      -the british start panicking and open fire on the milita
      -a lot of militiamen flee to the nearest towns and tell what happened resulting in the mobilization of all nearby militias and the battle of concord
      -the british hade to retreat from concord since they were attacked from all sides by angry militiamen.

    Hmm I've read that some soldiers didn't like music and drumming because it drowned out orders and commands. It doesn't in this. I can hear the orders quite clearly above the drumming and fifing.

    I didn’t think the soldiers swung their arms when marching back then? I thought the arms were kept rigid to the side of the body? Great spectacle to watch though.

      Not quite rigid, that is more of a Victorian/early 20th century idea. However there was not a formalized swing, either. They were simply left hanging to the side more casually, a light swing permitted as natural.
