    Whoops, seems like Premiere decided to skip the paint effects on our title cards on the final render. Slipped past our little green hands ^_^"

    How does this stick to someone’s head / face? Is it an easy off-on wearable like on the show?

    I personally like the season one visor but the other seasons and probably easier to build.

    I've been trying to recreate the alternate badge design seen in the episodes "Future Imperfect" and "Parallels" for a while, my goal being to make it as screen accurate as possible, if you have any tips for me, I'd be welcome to hear them.

      I really like that badge since it incorporated the rank pips. I think it depends on how far you want to go (more prop-ish or more display replica). If you have access to a 3D printer, people have kindly already made the badge on Thingiverse and can take the necessary steps to clean it up, however, it would be plastic or resin and as you witnessed in our video, getting that metal finish without expensive vacuum metallizing or plating is tricky.
      However, if you had a print or hand-made one from styrene (or similar modelling material), could make a mold and use a low melting point metal like pewter to cast it. That way you get a metal cast that can be polished. The only issue when making this badge is the difference in gold and silver which can provide a challenge.
      One last method (which I have yet to try) is casting using resin mixed with metallic powders. I've seen people do cold-cast bronze by mixing the in the bronze powder, then once its cured, polish it and it looks like legit bronze. You could do this method and have the icon and the ranks as separate molds using the correct coloured powders, then adhere them together after polish.
      Just some quick ideas off the top of my head, I'm sure you got some others. Hopefully this was kinda helpful! :D

    I'm hoping to go as Geordi for a costume party for next Friday. No way I'd have time to make my own visor. Love for costumes to be as authentic as possible. Do you make and sell?. If so, how quickly?

    All that effort for the perfect visor (really good job guys!) but then such a crappy engineer suit... what a shame!
    Still, good job on the visor. Well done!

    Great build! I'm about to start a pair of tines build and I was wondering what the angle was that is formed between the upper surface and the lower one. I saw you uploaded to thingiverse, but my STL viewer doesn't have any angle measurement tools to check. Thanks!

    heh, i just loaded the stl in flashprint. "where is it?" oh, it's really, really, REALLY tiny. (it fits within the white line on the software's bed scale). i had to scale it up 80,000% to fill the bed!

    • @MadGoblinWorkshop
      @MadGoblinWorkshop  Před 4 lety

      Ha, strange! Mind you we only tested with CURA but it was imported at 1:1 scale there in millimeters for us. Though we've had objects from other people that went tiny even though it was apparently "to scale".

    • @usamasajid2666
      @usamasajid2666 Před 2 lety

      Hello @krule World!
      Were you able to scale up all the SLT Files to the same size by increasing it by 80,000%. Because I feel we have to increase all by different percentages for them to be able to fit together
