  • We are impressed by the automatic functionality of this Redarc Tow-Pro Elite brake controller. The use of accelerometers makes it smarter than your average brake controller. In this video we show you how to install your Redarc Tow-Pro Elite brake controller in a 2020 Jeep gladiator.

    Thanks for mentioning that it does not matter which direction it is mounted!

      Morris vickery That’s a good question! It should be either in the same spot as our or exactly apposite of our on the right kick panel. Can you confirm for us? It should be very close to all the wiring that comes through the firewall. That wiring is easy to find as it’s a thick harness coming through a boot on the firewall. It would be great if you’d let us know so we know for future questions.

    Hi guys. Thanks for the demo video. How do I make sure I will be able to use an OEM factory wiring harness for my Redarc. Have a 2017 wrangler Unlimited. Thanks. 👍

      The RedArc Jeep harness is good for years 2014-2020 and will fit right into your factory plug with no other customization. It’s effectively a plug and play system.

    Thank you for this video! I have been reading everything I can about this setup, and some people have said, mostly in older posts, that the "plug 'n' play" harness won't work in a JL without modification. They say it can mess up your computer. Are you guys still problem free so far?

    • @TrailBendersOverland
      @TrailBendersOverland  Před 4 lety +1

      That’s interesting. I’ll need to contact RedArc about this. They said it should be fine for a JL. This install was on a Gladiator so I can’t really speak on a JL install. We will be doing the install on a JL soon though to test for them. Will be sure to share our findings!!

      Since this video was made, Redarc has released a V3 of the trailer brake controller, however the pigtail for the Jeep JL remains the same and is made by Tekonsha, part 3073-P and can be found on Amazon here: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08288R363/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    Hey guys! I plugged my Redarc into the Jeep gladiator and it started throwing codes for acc service needed, start/stop service needed, and a code for stability control unavailable. Any idea what might have happened?

    • @TrailBendersOverland
      @TrailBendersOverland  Před 3 lety

      Ashley Dennis So weird. If you unplug it do the codes go away? Ours was so simple plug and play. It just worked. The harness you got from 4wheelparts, was that a RedArc branded harness or a 3rd party?

    • @ashleydennis5344
      @ashleydennis5344 Před 3 lety

      When unplugging the harness the codes would disappear but as soon as you plugged it back in they returned. Upon more investigation it seems that the codes show up when I press in the red arc knob.
