Holgas are for art, experimentation and fun. In the 00s I bought a 35mm Holga full of light leaks and the results were surreal and unique.

3:50 The viewfinder image does not change, because the Holga is not an SLR. The image you see in the finder is not what the film plane "sees", there is no mirror inside the camera. The viewfinder and the lens are two separate entities.

Nice video! I just bought the same 40 dollar Holga and was looking at working up a couple of videos on it. I have the Holga 120 WPC pinhole camera that shoots 6X12 or 6X9 images on 120 film. I also shoot other film cameras both conventional and pinhole as well as Olympus micro four thirds digital cameras.
Are you participating in Holga week Oct. 1-7?
Enjoyed the video and will watch more of your work.

Unfortunately it doesn't matter even if it was free it's not worth it. For the cost of a few rolls of film and developing you could buy some thrift store digital camera and get just as good of images and take a couple hundred thousand pictures. Matter of fact you could probably buy more than one camera for the cost to use this Holga. What's your cost per shot for this camera? $2, more, that's just crazy.

Some people just want to shoot film!

Nah you definitely 100% cannot obtain the sort of dynamic range, latitude, and color depth of film from a cheap digital camera. Not even close. Film has properties that make it in some ways superior. Plus with a digital image straight off the camera you are most certainly going to need a lot of color correction to try and match the colors of film.

Some people prefer driving around in an old Cadillac from the 60s. Some prefer a 2007 Honda Fit. Both bring you from A to B, though they differ intererly of course. Some people would never understand why one would still ride around in an old Caddy.

@@jz8638 well that sounds reasonable. 2007 Honda Fit is superior in almost every way and if it cost 1/ 20th as much to operate i would stick with the newer car.
