I recently put the exact same windshield on my '23. Hot tip: When installing the windshield hardware, install it one bolt at a time rather than in pairs. That way, the fork covers never move, and you reduce the labor involved. I actually learned that watching your first install video of this windshield. 😉
In my experience, the shield is effective until you get up around 65 mph. At that point, at least on my bike, some mild buffeting starts. Great video as always! Thanks for taking the time!
Thanks for the tip. Definitely makes sense.
I agree with another comment, install one bolt at a time. I do wish the supplied bolts had a bright finish, not what appears to be a hardware store dull finish.
Thank you for the video. I need to put my windshield on my 2024 next week. This helped. The dealership wanted 900 dollars for labor for a sissy bar, engine guard, and windshield. I refused to pay that. This stuff is all bolt on.
It’s always better to do your own work when you can. Labour can be expensive.
Thank you for sharing - great bike, windshield and video!! Cheers!!
No problem. Thanks for watching 👍
@@canadiansa1nt309 By chance, do you have the part number for the washer/screw/bushing/washer hardware kit? Thank you in advance!
Ohey we got some headcam action this time, like I do with my installs ha ha. Nice.
There is a very inexpensive aero mod for these windshields that lets them kickback and reduce the drag and turbulence they produce.
I've got a 15in in windsplitter on my fat boy with the mod, I can email you it if you want. It does make it harder to get the windshield off and on but I keep a spare T27 on my bike to fix that.
Had to try out the headcam this time. It would be interesting to see the shield kicked back a little.
Looks good
Thanks boss 👍
Pabst Blue Ribbon? How about Labbatt, Molson, Moosehead and any Canadian beer? Are we going to have to review your citizenship status? Lol! Just kidding! Thanks for this video! I considered a new Fatboy, but I like wind protection. Wasn't sure how it was going to look, but it actually looks good! Cheers!
It’s getting too expensive with all the tax. I’m on the cheap stuff now, haha!
Thanks for sharing.
No problem 👍
Love the 2020 expensive in Australia now.
The bikes seem to be extremely expensive everywhere other than North America.
Thinking about going for a taller windshield myself.
The 19” works pretty well for me.
Looks good. Do you think you'll be riding with it all the time?
Also have you had any experience with tinting these shilds? Your thoughts on this because I've considered tinting the bottom portion on my 2016 red Fat Boys shield. Thought about red tint, but not sure how it would look as it's setup as a solo rider without a light bar.
I won’t be riding with it all the time. I’ll pretty much only have it on if I’m taking a good ride on the highway. Short rips or bombing around town it will be off.
I’ve never tinted a windshield. In my opinion, the tint on the bottom of a windshield looks odd. But that’s just me.
@@canadiansa1nt309 l appreciate your thoughts. I'm thinking I'll leave it as is. May look odd. The 2024 Hydra Glide came with the tinted shield. That's what got me to thinking.
i have both 19' and 14' and 19' gives much more wind buffeting when speed reach 100km/h or more.
Hmmm…I’ve never had that issue with the 19”.
@@canadiansa1nt309 Good for you, you no need to buy another one. I started wirh 19 but after a while had to buy shorter one. It looks better and gives me more confort for my 6ft frame. Btwn if I could ask you a favor to test cruse control. Once on cruse control try to drive with no hands on the bar and check if bike will run in strait line. My FB cannot and I guess is the reason for uneven tyre wear. Lastly thank you for your very good reviews.
