Hi Darryl, I've bought the Lightpix Q2OII to use with my Leica CL & Q cameras. Discovered camera screen goes very dark when the flash mounted on the hotshoe. Only can brighten the screen by lowering shutter speed to very slow in manual mode. Please advise what is wrong with my setup.

Sometimes it works better when pressing the shutter button when the shutter isn't wound then when it is. On my digital Sony camera it works more than perfectly. I do not know why this may be the case. I think my M6 is just a bit wack in that regard. It probably would need a CLA

Did you ever get this to work with your Hasselblad? From what I've read it seems like the usb sync cord is only for a receiver and not a transmitter, so I'm not sure how you could fire flash off the barrel of a Hasselblad or Mamiya if the sync cord only works with a receiver, shouldn't it work with a transmitter as well?

Is anyone using this light with the Mamiya 7? I would love to try it out for street and especially event photography. I’ve got lucky to be able to find my Grandfathers old Mamiya 7 and a cheap deal for the lightpix flash for around 90 euros.

I bought one especially for my Leica MP. However I can't get it to work with my Leica. It works with my Nikons and Canon film cameras however. I'll be curious to see how you get it to work with your Leica MP

I got one, it’s great but I couldn’t get it to work with my Hasselblad 500 cm. Reading a bit more it seems that the sync cable is for the receiver not the transmitter so it won’t work :( if you make it work let me know how you do it tho.
Yep, this was definitely a bit disappointing. It took me a few tries on a few cameras, and then rereading the website 5 times to understand that this would not work.
Hi Darryl, I bought the QII flash for my M10, after trying several times I wanted to give up and send it back. Then I discovered that when you turn on the video light, the flash fires like supposed to. Do you know if this normal system behavior ? How is it with the flash and your Leica Q???
Hi Darryl, How are you doing mate ? Thank you for the review, after watching this, I bought myself a Lightpix Q20 ii. It worked perfectly well on the Leica M10 P. But I ran into some problem on Leica M 6 classic: I used Delta 100 film stock and set at box speed I used the Summicron 35mm F2.8 And most of the time I shoot at 125 The result is I got half frame flashed photos Would you please recommend a Shutter speed that the whole image will be flashed ( I don't like to go below 125 ) Thank you very much and hope to hear from you soon Cheers !
The sync speed of a Leica M6 is 1/50 sec (the lightning bolt between 1/30 and 1/60 on the shutter speed dial). Any higher, and the shutter won't be fully open when the flash goes off (as you have seen). Try setting the shutter speed to the lightning bolt, and you should see that all of your photos will be fully flashed :) If you're wondering why the M10-P works, the M10-P has a flash sync speed of 1/180sec, which is faster than your preferred 1/125sec exposure.
I just won a bid on eBay for a mint Rollei 128BC flash for my Hasselblad, 17 Euro. It will do the job yet the remove triggers (sender/receiver) are intriguing.

Did you ever get this to work with your Hasselblad? It's pretty awesome to have background that you can change like that however being a plain and hard surface there's a ton of echo in audio.

The flash is still working great after all this time, once the world gets back to normal will be heading to Taiwan for more street photography

You'd be stuck with triggering it with one of the slave modes using the internal flash.

Yes should work fine on the M50 MKII, as I tested in on my R5 and it was working fine

Yeah, from the LightPix website, it has Sync cord options for flash. So, you will need a standard PC to hot shoe adapter for the Transmitter. 😊

@@DonFather The Q has a leaf shutter and syncs up to 1/2000, there is absolutely no need for HSS. 👍
